  1. call from uscis this morning. lady asked when i met my wife and who was the white women in my wedding picture, i say its my mother, she says you are approved. your lawyer sent "bare bones application" you should file complaint to bar. good luck

wow! interview by phone? Congratulations! Wow, she says it's bare bones but gave you an approval instead of RFE?!!

It's you who wrote to your congressman, right? would you please upload what magic words you wrote so i can send a similar letter to my congressman

Congratulations again, very happy for you!

  2. I wouldn't do it. I'm sorry but it sounds like he does not love you.

You have not, are not, and will not benefit from being married to him. He makes you feel guilty simply because that makes him feel less guilty. Why you help him deflect the guilt onto yourself???!!! He messed it up, not you, when he walked out on you and you had no contact. He's admitting that he's using you but you still want to help him because you love him. :crying: That kind of love is not good for you! :bonk:

    Kick him out.

Do not give him any money.

He says he'll find someone else to sponsor him, good. Then he won't be your problem anymore.

  3. Hi treva any news with u. going to close 5.5 months waiting and my case still at NBC as the lat time I checked. do you think ours will be processed there or they will be send it back to Vermont when they are ready to process August cases. or may be they will be send to local office for people who filed I 130 alone as they mentioned in their website.

    Hi Coolguy,

I think if your case stayed at NBC it would have been processed already.

I have no idea how they decide who stays at NBC and who gets transferred onward to a local field office. I got confirmation that my case is at Atlanta where they don't want to be bothered because they're too busy already with their workload of Adjustment of Status cases and Naturalization cases. Our stand alone I-130's have been sitting there collecting dust not been reviewed yet or assigned to anyone. It doesn't seem fair at all, and some of us who were transferred there have started writing letters to complain.

A phone call to USCIS, speaking to a tier two "officer" might confirm where your case is right now. Or, better yet, make an infopass appointment to be able to go into your local field office and ask.

  4. Very happy day for me, I woke to find a new message from last night that said our petition was approved on Feb 5th. I am so ready for the next step! Done all my studying and know exactly what to do , thanks to Darnell's advice when I first came ! I will certainly be celebrating with a special dinner tonight <3

Congratulations to you and your husband!! Chicken and couscous sounds like a winner!

best wishes, and hope the rest of process goes by fast for you guys!

  5. Hi Friends,

So I just paid the IV fee a couple of hours ago. I am now preparing the IV package. I have all the documents (Marriage and birth certificates, copy of passport, etc.).

My question: Do I also have to include evidence of relationship with my wife in the package? Or is this something we need to provide at the interview?

    Thanks for your help!

A while ago I read a post where someone said they had a huge stack of evidence and sent it to NVC to save money on shipping instead of mailing it to the beneficiary's country for the spouse to carry to the interview! Let NVC pay to mail it to the embassy

  6. Im not sure if I should be excited or not. Does this mean a decision is close to being made?

well... it's closer than when your case had not been assigned yet to an adjudicator, lol

From what I'm told, an adjudicator can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to a month to approve a case. It depends on various factors, like if you provided enough evidence and how much background checking they need to do on you and your spouse. So, I would think you should hear something within a month.

  7. Dear Congressman Lipinski,

Thank you for the inquiry on the status of the I30 filed by

ALEX. USCIS records reflect that Mr. Alex's cases are currently with an officer.

When further action is taken, he will be notified by mail as expeditiously as possible.

    Sincerely,

    Martha Medina

    Field Office Director

I had called USCIS this morning before i got this email and was told. We are working on August 10th, that doesnt mean that tomorrow we will work on August 11th, sometime it takes days or a week to work on 1 day due to the high volume of applications.

The assistant to the congressman emailed me and also said hopefully i will get an appointment or better yet an approval within a couple of weeks, If i don't get one within a month to contact her once again.

Martha Medina is the Chicago field office director.

When your case is at a local field office, calls to USCIS will not do any good. The agent you talked to on the phone this morning gave you the processing date for CSC probably because your receipt number starts with WAC (am i right?)

I don't think USCIS agents on the customer service line are going to give you accurate information about what Chicago is doing as far as processing times.

Maybe your letter actually got Chicago to go pull your case and assign it to an adjudicator! Good for you!

  8. due Mar 5th...1 month from today :( and i tried to expedite due to pregnancy and it was denied today...i don't know what else to do....so many people getting approved and i'm not

Hi Ally, congratulations on your baby! From what I've read, expedite due to pregnancy is not usually granted. You may get an NOA1 very soon, but I've read a lot on VJ about extra administrative processing for middle eastern men that could last average one year :( Hope for the best, but you have to prepare your mind for the worse.

I know it's hard, but try to have a healthy rest of your pregnancy with as little stress as possible. I hope your husband has family that can visit you and the baby. I have seven-year-old twin girls whose birthday is March 8th. Their father wasn't around. I remember how that was for me... You will find the strength to get through it, then your husband will come. You can do it!

    Best wishes,

    Treva

  9. 11-28-2011 married then me and my husband filed the documents 12-20-2011 uscis received jan 23 2012 we received noa1 july 6 2012 and until now we still waiting noa2  anybody can help me there why its took so long to waiting the noa2 188 days waiting noa2 sence the noa1

VSC is only past June 4th priority dates, according to the website. So, you probably have one more month to wait.

Why on earth would your NOA1 be almost six months after USCIS received your petition?

  10. Feel hurt! Some people only waited 2 or 3months to get approved. Why those in VSC are waiting so long time.Don't they notice this problem? Will be 6months in Feb 13th.Seeems need to wait two or three more months.

I'm sorry friend, if your petition is still at VSC, then it looks like you will probably have to wait until April... I know, it's not very fair or balanced and could never be, unless they one day all get processed at the same huge place.

  11. :wow: You are right Treva! :crying::dancing:

I can't believe it... got another email from USCIS today saying that it's finally approved! :girlwerewolf2xn:

We waited for 180 days (exactly 6 months if 1 month is 30 days long) after NOA1 from CSC! :crying::rofl:

Oh boy! What a relief! ^_^:dance:There is an end to this madness folks... your time will come soon, I pray!

Soooo happy for you! You did your six months, and CSC came through like they're supposed to. CSC rocks! They're approving August filers! VSC is on June, but hey at least they're predictable because they go in order that petitions were received.

It's us who got transferred around who wait for who knows how long (28 days? or 28 months? who knows?)

Enjoy your happy moment, and wishing you a speedy NVC process!

  12. The website changed from INITIAL REVIEW to DECISION today...

exactly 3 months - 1 week - 3 days since getting our NOA1 in the mail.

I must say, I almost dropped my notebook just now. ( Checked about 30 minutes ago )

Now we are just waiting for the package in the mail, to see what the next step is.

Hoping to spend our two year anniversary together ( April 16h )

    Patience is a virtue...

    Congratulations!!

Ummm, if you want things to keep moving quickly, then don't wait for the package in the mail. There's loads of info here on VJ about what your next steps are!

  13. Not directly related to the visa process but definitely a jaded topic.

I sincerely wish my husband could come visit me in the U.S. for a change. Why oh why does it have to be such a challenge for an Indian man to get approved for a B-2??? These trips to India are getting so stressful and hard on my body. I've gotten sick on every single trip I've taken to India to visit my husband. I love India but its certainly not gentle on an outsider's immune system. Last trip I was even hospitalized. Who knows? The next trip might do me in for good

But seriously, these long processing times only mean more long stressful trips to India since we can't even meet in a third country to shorten the travel time. I want to just move over there to be with him and wait the rest of this process out but my heartless employer has just laid me off :bonk:

Being jobless and husband-less is not a fun combination

sounds like now would be a great time to go, since you don't have to deal with requesting time off work... just stay away from street food! and don't drink any water without boiling it first

  14. Actually, it would be tolerable if not for my daughter...the getting beaten and teased practically every day in school was ridiculous. She is also just not cut out for Denmark and when she begin to pee and poop herself constantly because of it, screamed and cried herself to sleep every night talking about the Danish kids hitting her and having no friends, and refused to approach Danish children... well our solution was filing the I-130.

oh wow... you know that can happen in the US, too... My goodness, poor kid! Doesn't your husband know anyone with kids her age who can befriend her?

  15. Just a real quick update :)

I have typed out the letters I will send to both the director and the field office director. I will try and clean up the inquiry tomorrow at work see what I can do. If not I will go ahead and mail these letters to both of them.

    Any update for you guys?

I tried to upload a cleaner copy, but apparently I have already used up most of my 1000K global upload quota with the earlier dirty one, lol!

If anyone needs it, message me with your email address, and I will email it to you.

  16. One question though Treva,

On the inquiry, its stamped it seems by them. Is there anyway you can provide one without that? I dont know if we can get that whited out without some of the words typed also whited out.

Oh you mean where it's says RECEIVED 2013 JAN 32 ?! LOL I had to laugh when I saw that!

Hmmm... It was a very rough clean up of just my personal information. I'll try to get some time this weekend to do a more detailed photo editing and get that out for ya.
