  1. 230 days later our file is approved!!!!!!!!! I went to Atlanta for a infopass appointment this morning. The man that I saw today confirmed that the file was in the Atlanta office, but it was not a guarantee that he could find it. At first he told that our file was filed away in a box somewhere because they did not have enough shelf space for all 5000 files in there office. He said that if he could find it he would go ahead and approve it if everything was in there that needed to be in the file. It took him 15 minutes to locate it and then another 15 minutes to go through the file and approve it. So I guess if I didn't go in for a infopass my file would have sat there collecting dust for another 4 or 5 months. Truly our I-130 has been floating around the country for almost 8 months now and this man picked it up and had it approved in 15 minutes. I'm on cloud 9 today.

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you!

  2. Hey smile.png

well, I am still waiting. So I have been in contact with my congressman and senator, the latest thing that happened was on June 17th, my case was transferred to my local city (Chicago). When the letter came a few days ago it said "That office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application or petition."

ughhhhhhhhhh seriously? csc didn't want to deal with this case anymore and I just got passed off to another office. Worst part: I'm visiting my husband until end of august, so yesterday when we were at the consulate fixing our daughters passport I showed this paper and their response: "when you get your interview assigned get your ticket changed and go home, since you don't want/need anymore delays-you do NOT want to miss this interview " I even asked if I could get interviewed at the consulate and they said no sad.png

    Hi Ally,

That's right. I remember reading last year when I was researching all this that you need to be interviewed if your spouse is a middle eastern man. Too bad it has taken them so long to get your packet to Chicago, but it least you know some progress has been made. Your case is moving to the next step. The whole thing may seem to take so long, but one day it will be over. I'm very happy you were able to go visit your husband!

    Take care,

    Treva

  3. After 10 months...finally:

    Post Decision Activity

On June 24, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice.

    Thank you Lord!!!

Congratulations, Mrs. Rai! I told you it would be just around the corner! The Atlanta office finally got around to opening that big box that your and my file was in, lol. dancin5hr.gif

I think we will go to NVC together -- hoping Atlanta doesn't take too long to send our files to NVC!

  4. Wow! Congrats Treva!

I know you've been waiting for this for so long too!

Any advice on what else you've done or waiting is the only option?

It seems I am the only one left here from August filers who hasn't got the NOA2 yet, sad.png

By the way, it's exactly 10 MONTHS since my hubby filed the petition.

    Hi Mrs. Rai,

Is your file in Atlanta? If so, it seems they will process it very soon, otherwise send you a notice very soon that they had to transfer it out again because they could not handle the workload. The only thing you can do other than wait is to contact your senator/congressman's office. I do believe that the filers who got their NOA2s first from the Atlanta office were the ones who contacted their senators/congressman. It doesn't cost you anything to try.

The dates in your signature are confusing, and did you say in another post that your case is in Baltimore? The timeframe all depends on where your casefile was transferred to. Unfortunately, the Atlanta office was collecting I-130s for several months before starting to decide how to deal with them.

10 months is a very long time to wait. I know just how you feel!

  5. First of all, congrats h45549! I know it's been a happy week for you!!!!

I'm so confused!!!! Why are they doing files out of order??? I've been waiting 8 months, ahmed&raneen have been waiting 9 months.... makes no sense to me sad.png

    Hi cwwils!

I had been thinking that my file was one of the first to go in a big box and so was placed at the bottom. When they opened the box in Atlanta, they pulled from the top! Who knows!

What we do know is Atlanta definitely is not going in order, and we know that pressure from senators/congressmen gets them to pull your file faster.

  6. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    YOURE STILL NOT APPROVED?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!

Ive been approved since April 8. And Bismark recently got approved. Omg your NOA1 date is before mine! What the heck! Have you tried your congressman and senators? Youre coming up on 9 months!!!! Good to hear from you though...NVC still hasnt received my case sad.png

Hey abezyo, congratulations! i've been so busy the past few months, i'm sorry i haven't kept up with you guys. Very happy for you to have made some progress and to leave for jordan knowing at least this part is done.

No, I never heard any thing from my congressman. I will try my senator then. Geez, what does it take??!!! Obviously, the Atlanta office is not going in order by priority date.

  7. Will do def. As soon as I hear something you guys also will hear something. Also what happened with Treva and arabianprincess? Did they get tired of reading the same ole stuff and leave? Lol I dont blame them at all!

    @Abezyo

I think that is the case cos I've sent Treva three different messages with no reply, so I thought maybe she hasn't check her Visa journey maybe she is busy or she is tired of reading the same thing you have said . I am also not happy with how things are going, but coming here makes me get relaxed and to cool off the tension. Before when i see people getting approved, i always get sad but now it has become part of my life and now i'm excited for them and also excited that mine is coming closer. I know that very soon God will do everything and we all will be very happy..

Wow, we're up to 20 pages on this post, lol! Yes' I've been away for a while. My life was getting really stressful and Simon's visa journey was partly to blame, so I took a step back from it. In the beginning of the wait, it felt good for me to come on here, but whoa eventually it was so distressing, not realxing at all, Mrs. O, lol! So I haven't read any posts for several weeks... I will catch up later. I just came on here to let you guys know that, as I'm beginning my eighth month of waiting, I still haven't heard a peep from USCIS about our petition. No NOA2, no RFE, no reply to any letters, no reply to the inquiry form at the ATL office, nothing.

  8. When I wrote my Senator (John Cornyn of Texas by the way), I mentioned the work stoppage in Atlanta and the reason why (refusal to proceed without clear orders). I had asked him if the same was true of Houston (it isn't). Cornyn is involved in immigration issues and may well mention the Atlanta situation to his colleagues.

Thank you!!! We have to try every angle, lol. I will definitely mention something like if Houston can do it why can't Atlanta? !

  9. So got another letter today from my Senator. I wasnt expecting much help but atleast he repled quickly. Here is what it said:

    Sigh......back to the dark I go :(

That was no help... ugh. At least he did answer you though.

I am going back there to the field office on Monday morning. I'm bringing a formal letter to Paul Onyango. I'm also going to see about writing my congressman's office (Hank Johnson) this weekend, and also the two senator's offices (Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson).

  10. I just checked USCIS website as a routine, entered my receipt number and OMG cannot believe my eyes; my petition is approved on 6th of Feb. Goose bumps. Thank you Allah, so happy I am. :) The written decision will be emailed/snail mailed to my husband.

Congratulations ESS! Do you know if you were transferred from NBC to a local field office? Which USCIS field office has jurisdiction over your husband's address?
