Any one have any good agents in Nigeria that they can refer als any info on schools. I will be going back home soon and want to check all my options and dont really want the kids in an international school. Would much rather they go to a good private school so they dont get all tied up in the social class thing. Any info is greatly appreciated. We are looking in Lagos (although really think it may be too much for them), Ibadan, etc. But nothing like lekki, or VI I want them to grow up around regular people not the ultra elite.

Well, If you look back you will also see a request from me stating that I would have liked someone to add my info since I hadnt been on the site in a while. So I had no Idea that I was adding it incorrectly or deleting anything. While you are so busy insulting people over the usage of your time maybe you should be policing this post to be sure that anyone who doesnt know how to do it is assisted when a request is made! Also I thought we were here to support each other not humiliate each other. or is it because you are almost a citizen that you feel priveledged to talk to people like that.. I was referring to the fact that you added your information to an older version of the list -- which of course not only causes the updates on the more recent version(s) to drop off, but also leads to the list you post being updated by others in turn because they believe it's the most recent list. All of which requires time and work to repair. That was actually my time.

As to your questions, they are more than adequately addressed in the instructions that you deleted (you know, the instructions that say, "DO NOT DELETE THESE INSTRUCTIONS"):

REMEMBER: "Date of I-751" is the date you sent your petition - NOT the date it

arrived at the service center. "NOA1 Date" is the 'Notice Date' shown on the NOA1 —

NOT the date you received it.

Just updating our NOA INFO ... How is the receipt date the same as the day we mailed it? Should I be posting the 12th which is the receipt date or the 20th which is the date we received it? Do they just take that info off the envelope? They also cashed the check on the 16th! I wasn't able to check the receipt WAC # on the USCIS # though.. is it because it just arrived or should I be worried?

Our affadavits were a mixture of both .. we had 3 1 extra long , 1 1 page and 1 barely 5 sentences. but I guess what really matters is the content. We just sent ours off this week

I hope I am not raining on anyones parade but I did the same thing for my wedding and everyone was denied even my husband as he was still my fiance at the time!!! Thats why we ended up gettin married in Nigeria as I knew nothing about the immigration process asthe time. In Nigeria It is easier to get a visa for parents than for wedding party members. They will loiok at the persons age, occupation, financial situation, family ties, marriage status, among other things. What they have to prove is not that they will behave here but that they are doing well enough there or strong enough connections to not want to stay here illegally. So an unmarried cousin with no job or children will most likely be denied. Whereby a Grandma with a husband, grandchildren and a home will more than likely want to be home whith them after a visit here.

Actually let me break in right here, there are quite a few of us here looking to relocate to nigeria. I am an American married to a Nigerian and I will be relocating this year. I love the country , culture and the lack of stress in general. Sure there are some problems there but such is life I dont think there is a place on this planet or universe that wont have some down side. I feel it is all about a person being willing to compromise and accept new things. As I stated before thats just my lil 2cents

Nigeria is a place of great beauty but it is also a country fill of corruption. It is simply how it is. I am not sure any of us are want to be Nigerians. Most of us are in love with a person that happens to have been born there. With the country being what it is at the moment I don't think any of us intend to make it our primary home. Over time maybe the conditions will change. I notice you also are in the US and not Nigeria. I am sure there are posts in some of the other regional groups that talk to bad government or conditions. I just don't usually read Asia or South America.

I did all of those things while my husband was still in Nigeria even before he came here. so it is possible and was great evidence at his interview

I also added my husband to my lease, renter's insurance, the cable bill and my auto insurance. You can use pictures, emails, chats, phone bills, etc for the other proof. We are also filing our taxes together, which you can do if you request an ITIN and request to be treated as U.S. residents for tax purposes.

During our visa journey through Nigeria. I called the embassey several times to ensure that we were on top of the process. One of those calls was pertaining to Western Union and I was explicitly told that they will not use western union receipts as proof of a relatuionship. They did suggest though thyat any shipping receipts could be used though as well as mail sent berween us so keep any and all evvelopes you might have because those postmarks are golden!. If you dont have any mail I suggest that you ystart sending a card a week or sopostage is less than a buck and it will be great proof. I even had friends send cards and notes to him too as proof that our relationship was known to others. This was in '05 ythough but I am sure not much has changed as far as proof goes.

is a serial killer in the Lafayette area. I just want to let you know

about an "incident" that happened to me a few weeks ago, and could have

been deadly. At first I didn't go to the police or anyone with it

because I didn't realize how serious this encounter was. But si nce I

work in a jail and I told a few people about it, it wasn't long before I

was paraded into Internal Affairs to tell them my story. It was

approximately 5:15 a.m. in Opelousas , La. I had stayed with a friend

there and was on my way to work. I stopped at the Exxon/Blimpie Pie

station to get gas. I got $10 gas and a Diet Coke. I took into the store

two $5 bills and one $1 bill (just enough to get my stuff). As I pulled

away from the store, a man approached my truck from the back side of the

store (an unlit area). He was an "approachable- looking" man (clean cut,

clean shaven, dressed well, etc.). He walked up to my window and

knocked. Since I'm very paranoid and "always looking for the rapist or

killer," I didn't open the window. I just asked what he wanted. He

raised a $5 bill to my window and said, "You dropped this." Since I knew

I had gone into the store with a certain amount of money, I knew I

didn't drop it. When I told him it wasn't mine, he began hitting the

window and door, screaming at me to open my door, and insisting that I

had dropped the money! At that point, I just drove away as fast as I

could. After talking to the Internal Affairs Department and describing

the man I saw, and the way he escalated from calm and polite to angry

and volatile...it was determined that I could have possibly encountered

the serial killer myself. Up to this point, it had been unclear as to

how he had gained access to his victims, since there has been no

evidence of forced entry into victim's homes, cars, etc. And the fact

that he has been attacking in the daytime, when women are less likely to

have their guard up, means he is pretty BOLD. So think about it...what

gesture is nicer than returning money to someone that dropped it?????

How many times would you have opened your window (or door) to get your

money and say thank you... because if the person is kind enough to

return something to you, then he can't really be a threat....can he????

Please be cautious! This might not have been the serial killer... but

anyone that gets that angry over someone not accepting money from them

can't have honorable intentions. The most important thing to note is

that his reaction was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! A total surprise! But what

might have happened if I had opened my door? I shudder to think! Forward

this to everyone you know...maybe they can be as fortunate as I was!

P.S. Ladies, really DO forward this to EVERYONE you know Even if this

man wasn't a serial killer, he looked nice, he seemed polite, he was

apparently doing an act of kindness, but HE WAS NOT A NICE PERSON!!!

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I have been getting things organized for my trip. I am the USC my husband is a conditional resident and we will be lifting his conditions in April. My concern was whether I needed to be here with him to do it. I am really hoping we dont ger an interview since when we went to his AOS interview the CO said with all the info we left me may not have one. I was just wondering if by chance we did have one if I would have to be there as I hope to be in Naija with my mother in law allowing her to get to know the kids and getting some businesses going.

If called, you will need to be there and no submission of passports etc in advance to show you are in that country would sway a decision to conduct an interview. However, the alien could ask that he be given ample time prior to the interview such that if you need to return, you will be able to arrange it. If you don't show up for his interview, after one has been scheduled = denial.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully we wont have an interview but good to know that I will have time to get home if we do. How long after mailing the forms do you find out if you will have an interview?

I am wondering if anyone knows whether it will affect my husbands I-751 petition if I am in Nigeria during his lifting process, I mean we have already filled all the forms and everything. All he has to do is mail it along with the documantation in April. I was just wondering if maybe there will be a need for me to be at the interview.. if he is given one, or if maybe a notorized letter with my passport and all the childrens passport and visa info for our trip will work showing that we are in Nigeria, which I am hoping will also proof of our relationship since our family will have traveled there to spend extensive time with the family there for at least a year. I will even be filing my taxes from over there and starting a business to build our base there.

Its posted for anyone here who may have family back home in Naija. Its free and doesnt hurt to try since the wait to bring family members over is sooo long. I am in no way insinuating that it should relaplace the normal process, but who knows you might get lucky. I have a friend whoes 2 siblings won . One in 2004 and one in 2006. My pastor also won and a few more members of my church.

Michael just went the passport office and had them do his photo there. There should be many people there that do passport photos. The also do passport type photos at the registry where we got married because we used the ones from there for our domicilary banking account as well.
