  1. Hi guys :D

Hope y'all are doing ok...miss you tons :luv:

We sent out our I-751 on 05/08/08 and they receieved it on 05/12/08. That is all the info we have so far. We didn't have nearly the evidence most people have but we tried our hardest and I am putting the rest of the process in God's hands. We sent to NSC so I know it will take a while or so it seems. Hope everyone gets through this process smooth and easy. Congrats Rhonda

    Much Love,

    Jamie :star:

Hey Jamie...Good to have you back.

  2. I did Mrs. Palmer - I booked my hotel for this trip through them - DJ lives in Ochi, but we are staying in Negril - So far, everything seems good - The hotel was recently taken over by new management, so I got a little worried due to some posts I had seen - But, I got in touch directly with the hotel in JA and everything seems to be set.

Just read the fine print to make sure you calculate the extra charges into your auction price - Most have some type of surcharge that adds to the final price - mine was $32 per day, and a $20 booking fee - Even with that, I still paid 1/3 of the normal hotel cost.

    WOW! Great Rate.

  3. Yup 3-4 daily

:wow::rofl::rofl: bettah watch out. I bet he trying to breed you too.

Yes...that's during the week  Gotta keep the love life going strong....

3-4 times a day every day during the week? Damn.......how do you have time for anything else? What are you doing on here now????????

Trying to get some sleep  . Somehow we make time...

It is doable. I often ask, have you been thinkin bout rooksin all day, or am I that drop dead gorgeous. He comes in a heads straight for the panties

 I'm sure it's both. Especially when they can't work...rooksin is all they think about.

What dates are you going to JA? I'm going to August 1-5 and Damien is suppose to go July 31 - August 9. He just called asked me to extend my dates so we can rooks in JA longer. I asked if he had a slow day at work  .

    11-18.

  4. Yup 3-4 daily

:wow::rofl::rofl: bettah watch out. I bet he trying to breed you too.

  5. But would those 30 bags last you as long as the Coach bag?

Don't know, probably not. 30 might, without daily use? lol I just never realized they were made in China. I'm so against taking jobs out of the US. I learned- heard, the crowns( for your teeth) we pay so much for here in the states are made for little or nothing in another country and we pay out the a$$ for them here in the states.

  6. Ok - so Jamaica is not the murder capital of the world - but it is #3. Check out this link: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur_...ders-per-capita

so it's NOT number one right???

While you're there, check out the country with the MOST crimes overall......

  7. Sus! 10 days left girl. You ready for ur trip? Anything special planned?

I am BEYOND ready for my trip! Finished my last final yesterday, and am totally unmotivated to work, lol - I want to try to pack this weekend so that I don't have to deal next!

Nothing specific planned, but it will be fun - DJ hasn't ever been to Negril, so it will be a week away from his friends, my friends, and time for just the two of us - I want to go to YS falls, Mayfield Falls, or the Black River - We have a car, so I intend to explore a bit!

    beautiful places i'm sooooooooooo JEALOUS

Mi too....I can't wait, we are going in August....I get to take the pickney with me  this time, I'm so excited!

( his bestfriend's wife is pregnant with twins) I'm like are you really ready to have a baby now? His reply was no, not now, but sometime early???OK. Now what does that mean? All I heard was the no part.

I am willing. As much as I know it will be great to have this child fathered by someone -finally responsible. I am scared to have a child this late in life.

  11. Hey Den...leave mi alone...

    *disclaimer*

I AM PREGNANT AND I WANT IT TO BE OVER

    lAWNY...u gwaan..mi a watch yuh..chu mi nah seh nuttin...

Awwh feel better. Are you showing?

I want to be preggers soon. There's this nurse at work, she looks about 35 years old. She's preggers. Looks great. Has not gained a pound (other than baby weight), she's all belly. Why can't this happen to me? Why I have to blow up all over the place, so not fair.

  12. right now, here is my concern about j.a. building a house. I would at some point like me and mr jengs to build a house so we can retire but. I'm also concerned about my stuff being there when we return. Any thoughts on this. How do u guys handle this?

Hey JENGS; That was my parents concerns back in 1982. Let me give you the short version. My dad's house was suppose to be 2 levels with a wrap round varenda on each level. Because my dad was not there they stole a lot of his materials. It took another 4 years to get back what was stolen from him. My dad's advice to anyone who is trying to build there now, if you can be there at least for the 1st stages, BE THERE! For the last 15 years the dad is making constant repairs. We're now adding another level and my dad had to reinforce all the walls on the lower level, because it was not done properly the first time around.

Jengs -- if you can have someone look after your house (someone you trust) that will open the house up to get AIR every now and then, that would be great. With my dad's house we had one part of the house rented out and the other party we stayed in while we're there on vacation. That's always worked for us. CAUTION: Be careful who you rent to, if you choose to do that after you build or have a family member stay in the house.

Everyone I know who has done this sort of thing, had someone they knew and trusted living there while they couldn't be. That can bring it's own set of problems, even from family members; but is much safer then letting it sit empty.

Agreed. I could see using family, causing lots of problems.

  13. JG --

And, like I always say, if it happens to me, I have the right to say any damn thing I want about it.

Ain't that the TRUTH! Some people DO NOT UNDERSTAND UNTIL THEY'RE PLACED IN THE SITUATION.

I understand that. If it weren't happening to me, I would have a hard time believing it myself. Sometimes the words said are so surreal you think it must be some movie script.

Tre.....it's difficult. There are days I thought I would blow my freakin' head off from trying not to yell at someone. But, if you love Marcel.....and I know you do.....you will both figure out a way to make it all work for you. I always feel if there is really a need......and I do mean REALLY cause I have heard some stories......then, we will do what we can. I will never feel bad for how little it might be because we are giving from the heart and it is more then they would've had if we didn't give it. Once you reconcile it all in your own heads, it's easier to known when there is need and when you are being played and it's a lot easier to just say no.

    Well said JG --

Marcel and we talked about it and how we're going to deal with it should it come up. His people, so far, are okay and I told him to talk to them before he leaves. Things are going to get very expensive and expensive really FAST!

I know his mom is going to need extensive care and physical therapy and that's going to cost and that's his main concern. He just wants to get here and start working, but I told him it's not going to happen right away. I even tried to talk him into staying a little longer since you have 6 months to travel after you get the visa and he said NO...he wants to be here with me, so the B#*CH of an AUNT he has his staring more problems. Because he refused to talk to his aunt, she's telling his family that I'm putting space between him and them and I'm like HELL YEAH...3000 miles! Girl, all I can say is I have my hands full. Do I want to throw my hands up in the air, sometimes, but I'm not giving up that easy.

My heart goes out to you. esp, cause when he gets here if he's like my hubby, He won't stop working! He has so many dreams, so many people need help. He's going to kill himself trying to help everyone. I keep telling him it's okay to say no when they ask you to come in.

I think I may love you, Sus. Beautifully said!

    agreed.

  14. We are on the same page here. I ask Andre that sometimes.........why do you care so much about a mother who kicked you out of the house at age 11 and left you to fend for yourself?

I have not a clue. My hubby was 8. I think he still wants to love them like family. Even though he's got major resentment build up against them. Esp his mother. I say well, tell her how you feel, and how what she did made you feel, then either forgive her and stop bringing it up(to me) every time they ask for a dollar or tell her you want nothing to do with her and stop communicating with her. He can't have it both ways. It hurts me to see him waring with himself inside, about how he feel he should maybe be doing soo much more.

  15. It's easy to see how the money issue could quickly ruin these relationship...and I'm glad to see that I'm not alone...(although I wish I was because I know how much this sucks balls for all of us!!) I just hope that our men learn sooner rather than later who really has their best interest in mind...and that whether or not they believe it---family ain't always it!! I know my husband has a very hard time believing that his precious mother can be manipulative towards him---whenever it comes up I swear I always end up hanging up in order to save my marriage. Just this past weekend she made her mother (who is in her 80's) get up out of bed and go all the way down to his house, just show she could show him that his grandmother was hungry!! What kind of bullsh#!@ is that? He called me in near tears and ended up going out on the street looking for money to give to her. This, after he had already explained to his mother his and my situation and why we were strapped at this point in time. Do you think it mattered to her one bit? HELL NO!! RASS...

#1) Your situation has nothing to do with his family, nothing at all. Tell Mom to go and apply for housekeeping at a hotel...what do they want him to do, rob and steal??? and they shouldn't even be thinking like that, they were surving for years on whatever he could provide and yes times are hard now, but they will survive.

#2) speechless at her making Granny get out the bed and walk, she nuh have no neighbor or other family she can ask for help.

I really hate to see injustice.

When I was out of school and broke i used to go and boil cornmeal porridge and eat, she is bloody out of order.

    JENGS ---

Same way I survived, my girl. And when I didn't have cornmeal porridge a can of BULLY BEEF and white rice did just fine or a can of SARDINES. You know when I'm in Jamaica and I mention BULLY BEEF or SARDINE or CHICKEN BACK to eat I get laughed at. A poor people food dat!....well, mi still a EAT DAT, so I guess I'm still POOR

My husband,...he loves some canned sardines over dumpling, It looked weird, but oh soo good!

I don't know what to do anymore.......

The Embassy told us we would have our visa last friday, but guess what?....no visa and still today there is no visa. I talked to the lady at the Dept. of State yesterday and she assured me that the visas were printed last Thurs and she said the embassy in Kingston is very slow. I have tried to e-mail the embassy serveral times and no response from them. They hold people lives on hold like its no deal.

I married my wife 14 months ago and we did K-3 visa and she is still not here with me. I am so disgusted with the embassy that it just makes me sick. The Americans that work at that embassy, give America a bad name. They really need to fire everyone there and start over. I'm sorry, but I am so freaking mad right now that I can't see straight.

    Thanks for letting vent.

Wow Jason, I feel your pain and frustrations but keep on them did you call airpek(sp)?

Yeah, hang in there, Seems like I remembers others having delays getting their visa's.

  16. It hurts me to see him slowly learning this lesson.

I feel your pain, and I know how hard it is to sit by and watch him go through something that hurts.

I used to sit back and be quiet. Lately, I've spoken up more and more. I can't let him be hurt anymore.

He called his mom Sunday. She said she's sick and needs to go to the doctor. I said why doesn't she go? He said, she says she has no money. I said, um.....free medical care in JA since April 1st. Andre said why would she say that then? Um....cause she thinks we don't know. Neverending. You can't even call your mom on Mother's day.........

Good evening everyone, I think we need to clear up what free medical care in JA means. The free only applied to the Dr's vist at the hospital and some clinics. All lab, xrays (ancillary services) vaccinations and medicine are still at a cost to the patient. If the patient is seeing a private Doctor at his/her office there is still a cost.

JA did not throw out the baby with the bath water. What I am trying to say is, there are still waiting periods (long lines) at all clinics. You can go to a clinic and a hospital and not be seen because of this because the waiting list is too long. ...... Or the Doctor (specialist) you need to see is not at the clinic today. I hope we all understand that there is no such thing as total free health care anywhere in the world. There is poor health care(free) or good health care ($$$$$). You pick your own prescription. Pay you might get good service, but if you want free you have wait for whatever they want to give to you. Yes, JA is trying to give it's people something and something is better than nothing.

Sorry, but if my mother was sick, I would move heaven and earth to get her some care.

    Be Bless

    Roxcie

Thank you so very much Roxcie for giving my fellow "Jamaicans" the real understanding behind this free medical thing here in Jamaica.

I just feel moved at times of how people seem to find all thats wrong or going wrong in Jamaica but hardly ever stop to give honor where honor is due. I must say that as a Jamaican im am proud of the step that the Jamaican government has taken to "try" and assist those of us who cannot afford to visit a private doctor because of financial reasons. (and might i add the big US of A is yet to put some level of normalcy to its medical care system). Think what you may about the medical care system in the Jamaica, but the government here tries very hard with the limited resources that it has.

I just wish and pray for the day when Jamaicans who have left here and supposedly goes to the where the "grass is greener" will not only see what is wrong with this beautiful country but will also spend some time to see the vast improvements that have also taken place here.

You all talk about crime about in Jamaica as if Jamaica is the only place that crime exists?????? I watch the news every evening and there is not ONE evening where i dont see someone being murdered senselessly in the great America.

Give honor where honor is, Jamaica like everywhere else in the world has its fare share of problems and no one government or small group of people can fix it.

    Thank you.

    Respectfully yours,

    Jamaican Citizen

    Kish --

As a Jamaican MYSELF I'm hurt by this statement, but everyone is entitled to type as they feel. I don't feel that nothing that was SAID yesterday attacked JAMAICA at all. You're in Jamaica, right, not in the states as yet. If the tables were turned or when you get here you'll have a BETTER UNDERSTANDING. What we spoke of yesterday is nothing new and like I said have been going on for many, many YEARS. I love my country and plan to move back there in the future. My parents choose to come here, not because things were BAD IN JAMAICA, but because my mom came to go to nursing school in the states and my dad didn't want to be away from his young wife and we followed a few years later, because he wanted his family together.

True crime is everywhere, but it MAKES ME SICK to my stomach to watch my aunt who has lived and worked in Jamaica her entire life as a school teacher get robbed by the very people she may have taught in grade school. I MAKES ME SICK to my stomach, when people who have lived in the US, CANADA or ENGLAND return to Jamaica to live out the rest of their lives, but can't, live where they grew up in Jamaica because of CRIME. IT MAKES ME SICK to my stomach when people who were EDUCATED in the states return to Jamaica to start up a business and put back into the country, but can't because of CRIME! My girl it is what it is.

I was sadden to learn my $300 coach bag was made in CHINA! I have nothing against China, but dang is there anything made in the USA anymore. This country should be a shamed of it's self. I wonder what was really the actual cost of making the bag. I wish I had gone to Walmart and bought 30 made in the USA bags.
