i myself have my interview on wednesday - going to frankfurt tomorrow to stay in a hotel. i am pretty nervous already, even though ive only read good reviews so far (in fact, i stopped reading them, because they all said the same: everyone was very nice, they asked easy questions and then they got approved, but the waiting was annoying ). i know, with the frankfurt embassy, theres not really anything to worry about - but i keep thinking: what if i am the FIRST person theyre mean to? (just like each time i play the lottery i am thinking: well, SOMEONE has to win - why not me? haha.... ). but i guess, since ive never won the lottery so far, theres a good chance i wont be the first person, frankfurt embassy is mean to... haha...

have a good week everyone and get lots of noa2s and pack3 and 4s...

I hope soon any ways... I sent RFE response in by overnight/certified yesterday. It arrived at VSC this morning. They haven't shown to receive it yet.

I hope within two weeks.

Hey guys... so I had to stay away for a few days. Coming on here was starting to get not so good for my head and every time I ventured onto the site I ended up in tears. However, I'm back now and with some good news. Last night at 8:47pm I got 'The text' and we are FINALLY approved! I'm not really sure how I feel! I'm happy and excited, but it still sorta stings having to have waited so damn long. I haven't even told Nick yet, because he's at work. I'm going to make him put up the webcam so I can see his face when I tell him. Yes, I already have it planned out. I pinned a little note to the back of my sweater that says 'we are approved!' in huge letters. I'm going to ask him to turn the camera on to see my new dress and do a little spin for him so when he sees the note he'll be all "What's on your sweater?" and I can be all, "What are you talking about?" turn, turn, turn, hehe... till he figures it out. After all this time I did not feel a phone call would suffice, though it was really hard not to tell him this morning! I guess we're ready for the next step!

What was your RFE for? Get it sent out quickly so you can move to the next step.

Hi Islandgal, my RFE was for not providing a translated divorce from Chinese to English... got it done in 45 minutes last night online from certified notary.

I'm headed to the post office after my meeting at work.

send next day delivery. Its worth it

No doubt!! Overnight with am delivery!

Just got our certified/notarized translation sent back to me... RFE is going out tomorrow morning. (This kind of speed is scary..... (and pricey !) But nothing is too expensive to get my baby here faster!

Well, our RFE was entirely my fault... :bonk: I included my fiance's divorce papers but no translation accompanying it...

I will have a translation completed by morning and overnighted back to Vermont....for (according to USCIS) a minimum two week turnaround

After 6.5 of brutal torture, my petition has finally been approved.

You might want to read this and get all the translations done at once. Pay attention to the fact that these documents must be translated by a certified translator and NOTARIZED! Read the part about birth certificates closely. Good Luck, Robby

Search for the American Translators Association online. Lots of ATA Certified translators there. Simplified Chinese shouldn't run you more than 5 or 6 cents per word.

Seems to be a wise choice and the one I'm leaning towards... Does anyone have a recommendation for a certified translator online? If my fiance does it, It will take three days to do then 10 days to get to me... apparently scanning would not be an option...

We received an RFE because we didn't translate her divorce papers. We also didn't translate her birth certificate but the RFE didn't reference that. Will the fact that we didn't translate her birth certificate be a problem? Or should we just respond to the divorce papers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear but really its a good thing... no more endlessly waiting.. shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks and then they can respond pretty quickly once you've sent in whats needed.

Yes we're now in the RFE queue of the adjudicator. If they get paid on closed files they'll have a vested interest in getting us done...

Theres no consistency... I saw a guy send on the same day as me and got approved last Friday.

I think its between 2-3 wks. I hope its this week for me. im at the 18/19 day already.

Still might make this year....

Cheer up bud, even though i know its hard.. I did all the paperwork already and ill share with you cover sheets and affidavit samples if you need some. We are here to help you out.
