Hi all, Not sure who will ever see this......
Just a note to let everyone know that I am currently sitting in Guangzhou with my fiance. She had her interview yesterday. She was told to expect her visa in 10 days!
I can very happily say this bumpy part of our road is oficially over.
Looks like I'm the last one in here so don't worry ya'll ...... I'll get the lights.

Congrats!!!

I can plug the NOA1 date into ustraveldocs, shoule I wait till Packet 4 to continue in the website? NOA2 states that it is valid until 11/15/2013.. What does THAT mean? (NOA 2 was given 7/22).

Hi Darnell,
Yes everything is paid for. We are currently (still) in AP visa status updated last on Oct 23.
On the ustraveldocs site, we already paid weeks ago. She went to the bank and it shows paid. There is a page that is requiring Priority date. I don't think we have one, so leaving it blank doesn't allow us to proceed.
Thoughts?

A week and a half a go, my fiance received a phonecall from Guangzhou embassy, about a week after submitting Packet 3. The man was a bit tricky to start with, however, once having established a trust, the conversation almost went as though it was an interview by phone. Then the man called her mother and talked with her for a while. I haven't heard of this before, has anyone experienced this? What does this mean? My fiance was very excited to tell me about the conversation, she thought it went very well.
But, unfortunately still no Packet 4.
Does anyone have any ideas what that might have been about?

So, we got ourselves on US traveldocs, got to the point where we received the cgi number. Which she will take to the bank, I'm hoping still tomorrow.. I reverified our GUZ number with the CEAC website... here is what was shown... now....
So do we still pay and get ready for the interview, or do we (for the billionth time) stay in a holding pattern?
It makes no sense to put us in a "Ready" Status then put us in an "Administrative Processing" mode 10 days later. Then reference to perform any instructions given by the consular officer during the interview" when haven't even gotten to that point.
Any suggestions?
-
Thanks Darnell.

We have not received any notification from the consulate in China, however, after obtaining our GUZ number I put it into the Consular Electronic Application Center status app. The attached is the result... (Ready).
I'm a little confused since it looks like its ok to start scheduling, but they haven't sent anything to us.
She we wait to get correspondence? Go for scheduling? Any reccomendations?
Please help... our delays have been brutal thus far... we need to minimze any further delays.
Thanks.

Looks like I'm 4 days behind you.... At least at this stage... I' ll be glad to share info with you as we go through this process..
Good luck !
-
Well, we are moving forward, thank god we only have to do this part of the process once. I know there's more waiting after she gets here, but I could wait 100 years with her easier than another day without her.
As of september 17, Our package has been sent from NVC to Guangzhou. I'm hoping we'll hear something from them in a couple days.
Hope all is doing well!
-
Wow Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope all goes well for you in the very near future.
I feel a bit guilty posting good news for us, NVC has received our application, it looks like we are finally getting close.

SO happy for you!!

Thank you HK and tiger.. We see some light... Finally...
-
We got our NOA2!
-
I am speechless.......
-
Res, I am so sorry to hear about your dilemna... I hope the best for you.
-
Thanks to all who are concerned. Fortunately we are still very much for being together despite our wonderful government's lack of effectiveness.
Glad to hear that RES...
Got some news myself... Congressman Cruz's office told me that my file "is in the hands of the adjudicator".... if I don't hear something in 30 - 60 days, give them a call again...
I absolutely laughed at the person from the office.. .The person went on to tell me that we are "so very close" to being finalized, she didn't see what was funny. I told her that I've heard that exact line before and waited two months only to get another RFE..which we've waited an additional two and a half months to get an answer on.. .She said that shouldn't happen this time... Either she's a liar or she drank the kool aid....
-
Thanks for the concern.
Yes I have talked to Cornyn's office, Granger's office and Cruz's office...They ask, they get a response similar to... the file is in an officer's hands, the application will be processed in the order it is in, if we don't hear anything in 60 days, call again... then the congress person tells me the same thing...
They are ALL friggin' useless.
-
Still waiting for our NOA2... Be glad you are where you are....
-
Update...
My RFEs were sent out... to my old address... (I changed my address with USCIS in January)...
Postal Service doesn't forward government mail...
I don't even know how to get my RFEs at this point without putting in a service request which takes 30-60 days to process...
therefore...
We have been delayed an unquantifiable amount of time because of the pathetic.... nevermind...
just delayed....
-
Got a THIRD RFE today.
I don't understand why they can't just give me a list all at once... It would have been great if I got that list in October. I really can't imagine what I could be missing.....
-
Why didn't they give all the RFE the first time? Oh wait - it is the government we are dealing with
When I get to hell, I'll have plenty of time to ask them....
-
I don't know... It will come in the mail... I thought tier 2 could see that.... the "helpful" person I talked to yesterday told me i need to be patient and wait for it in the mail as they could not access that....
Patient... really.....
Oh no ! Do you know what its for?
This whole thing is insane... if it works first time then you're ok apparently, but if not and it goes wrong... it goes horribly wrong. We are in the process of refiling.. so despondent and distraught, its hard to make the effort. I still can't believe we are having to do this.
Andie, I am so sorry to hear that....

Got a second RFE yesterday..... I'm really not feeling very rational right now...
Wife is here in US on K-1 Visa, what about my stepson
in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration

My wife arrived here in December on a K-1 visa. We are now married filing for AOS and EAD. Regarding her son (my stepson), he is a full time student (22 y.o.) at a university in China for the next two years. He plans to finish university in China before coming to US, what, if any, visa can we file for him?
