And I thought waiting for the NOA 2 was hard.
-
Just an update....On Tuesday, my husband attempted to enter Jordan, and after some arguing and standing his ground....they let him in! Yay!
The journey alone....traveling from Latakia to Damascus. Waiting for the next bus in Damascus....then traveling to Jordan....I was sooooo worried! But he made it. For anyone trying to enter Jordan....here is my husbands story....
When he got to the border, it was packed with Syrians. Mostly men. NONE were allowed into Jordan. They told my husband to go back to Syria. (i omitted the cursing) After some arguing, he finally mentioned that he has american wife, and going to us embassy. The guard asked why he should believe he has american wife. My husband had our Photo Book in hand! Showed him our pics! He let him pass.
Guard #2 said go back to Syria. More arguing and standing firm....my husband told him the story and gave him the interview paper. Finally! They said he can enter! The ONLY man allowed to enter.
Now, I had drilled it into his head....be prepared! Have everything IN YOUR HANDS!!! Proof right there!
And do your research! Even Syrians entering Jordan from another country, will be denied. So be prepared...do not turn and walk away....stand up for yourself!
I wish everyone luck!
Our interview is in a few days.....so I pray he is approved without a/p....doubtful...but hopeful.
That's wonderful news! Happy to hear he crossed the border. The situation in Syria is frightening right now. Wishing him the best of luck on the interview!

Thank you! I hope this plan works out.
What's your timeline like? Mine is this:
Nov 2012 - Step 1
March 2013 - Step 2 CK
Nov 2013 - Step 2 CS (since we're moving to US late Dec)
I've read up on getting a tourist visa, so I can take the CS exam at an earlier date, prior to the September residency application. BUT... I've also read that most US citizen spouses with pending immigration applications don't get approved for tourist visas.
Do you think I should risk applying for the tourist visa to take the CS?
I want to take the exams after moving to the US. My timeline roughly looks like this:
Step 1 June 2013
Step 2 CK Jan 2014
Step 2 CS June 2014
Errrr looking at it now maybe I won't make the 2014 match after all.
I swear learning under the British System for this entire time & having to suddenly switch to the American one is really a tough transition. If it wasn't for Dr A<3O I would still be a bit lost. I think at this rate I'd be up for the 2015 match..that seems like such a long time to me but what can I do? Steps exams aren't offered in my country & I would have to travel abroad for them..I can't do this now because my petition is at the NVC stage & I will still have to travel to Egypt for my interview.
Sometimes I wonder why I never considered sitting for the Steps in the first place!
I guess you could try applying for a tourist visa it wouldn't hurt but whether you get approved or not because of the IR1/CR1 is the question. Getting rid of the written Steps now is your best option..I agree with the good doctor's wife!

Oh! So true!
Before meeting my husband, I thought I will be taking masters in public health!
I actually considered going the GRE (masters) route instead of USMLE, but our relationship had an added complication. He's currently owned by the US military and gets based overseas a lot. It seems like being a licensed US physician can get me a job as a civilian in the military than being a health science researcher! Haha
Are you going for the 2014 Match?
Hello there! And yes if all goes well & according to plan, I hope to be done with Step 1, Step 2 CK & CS before the 2014 match.
Your plan to sit for the written Steps before coming to the US seems like a good one considering your husbands position. Good luck to you!

After waiting so long I did a service request and was sent an RFE which I thought I would get since I forgot to send the original marriage certificate. They are asking for stuff I sent already as proof of a bonafide martital relationship I sent logs of calls emails even before we was married many pics from all the times I been to Egypt. All copies of my pass port pages.I spent 1 year out of our 2 year marriage with my husband in Egypt. They asked about a wedding we didn't have a wedding they want a letter from my husband's parents saying why they didn't come. His father passed away this past January so we can only have his mom write a letter. We do have a letter from his father he wrote it about 1 year ago about his son and I.I should send that with translation right? They even asked about our interfaith marriage. They want a notarized letter from my mother saying she is aware of my marriage to my husband..My mother had a serious stroke may 2009 she cant write her name anymore she isn't aware of anything now but before her stroke she knew about my husband and I and spoke to him on the phone a few times. What should I do about that? Write a letter about her condition and notarize it?They also asked about my husband's parents if they knew about it.His mom is going to write that. But we don't want her to say anything about her husband because she will just cry and be depressed. So should I type in my letter about his father passing away? All this has got me crazy We sent emails even from 2009 but in 2008 the friend that introduce us will write a letter for us about how we met in may 2008 he is currently in the army in Egypt. What more can I do? I just want to begin our life together so tired of being so far from each other. Thanks in advance, Rina
If you're going to write a letter explaining your familial circumstances to USCIS I think you should also include a medical report from your mother's doctor & your late father-in-laws' death certificate with translation. You've been put in a very tough situation & I wish you the best of luck.

Hi People!
My date is Feb 15th (CSC). Today we called and we tried to open a service request, we been told that the 5 months timeframe is an estimate and we cant open a service request because they are working on Jan 15th cases (LIE). They told us to call in 60 days. I know all this is ####### cuz most of february cases are approved.
60 days? That's weird...after the initial 5 months had passed we only waited 3 weeks until submitting a service request. My I-130 was approved July 11th...2 weeks after the service request.
Keep trying.
I completed 5 months today still waiting for NOA2 any advice about service request would it accelerate the process if any one have any experience with service request please share it I don't know what I have to do just an open wait they start to approve some cases from march 23rd so why febreuary filler still pendingTry submitting a service request...see what happens.

If I am not wrong, latest version of Viber for Android is BETA version and is not compactable with all Android devices. there is handful of glitches and free viber to viber is pain. "Email message history" option is available only on new ( latest) version of Viber for Android.
Have you ever tried Whatsapps??
I have but I didn't like it very much & I uninstalled it...my husband doesn't use it either. Would whatsapp allow the emailing of message history? If yes, then I guess it's back to whatsapp!
-
well i use viber (IPHONE) too and there is an option
under viber u will see MORE click on more then u will see SETTINGS under settings u will see EMAIL MESSAGES HISTORY
EMAIL AND EASY TO PRINT.
CHECK THIS OUT PLZ
I checked my settings, I have the option to clear message history but not emailing it. I will have to do what BA & MG said about updating Viber on my phone. Thanks for the link, will check it out.
-
Trust me...I googled before posting the question on the forum. I didn't find anything useful.
-
My phone is an Android. I think maybe I am using an older version of Viber because I don't have the option to email my message history. I used to use Magic Jack to speak to my husband but my device decided to die so now we either Skype or talk on Viber.
Printing out my Skype conversations is no problem but I was hoping I would be able to print out the Viber call logs or my call logs in general.
-
Is it possible to transfer Viber call logs/text messages from phone to a PC so as to print them out?
Thanks in advance.
-
Well my NOA 2 finally came in! Thank you for the support, it's really appreciated & good luck to you guys.
-
Congratulations! Hope all goes well with the interview

Awesome! Congrats! I apparently wasn't on the last page in the forums when I responded earlier...I am apparently a bit careless and absent minded when I am replying from work.
LOL! It's ok...happens to the best of us! Thank you very much!

Wow that's great! I heard Nebraska Center is the slowest & their processing times on the uscis website ARE SCARY! Congratulations!

Hello Jen,
I honestly think some people just get lucky. On my timeline for example it reads:
Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between April 16, 2012 and April 25, 2012*.
3 months later & still no NOA2, whereas other members had their I-130's approved in 3 months or less.
Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones

When is a center considered to be backed up? I've read a lot of threads where people have stated things at VSC are backed up. If CSC isn't backed up & approving petitions received in March, why haven't some Nov/Dec/Jan filers heard a peep out of them yet?
Trying to stay positive throughout this whole process is exhausting.
-
Congratulations!
-
I forgot to ask, what was the date when you sent the service request?
Praise Jesus! OH YEAH!!!
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

And finally VSC came through for you! Congrats!
