I have also started the journey with my fiancee just this month,and this is how it has been soo far:

01/15/2013: Mailed the package(I-129F)

01/17/2013: Package got to Texas

01/23/2013: NOA1(email notification)

01/28/2013: received the notice "Alien registration number has been changed on the 28th january

01/30/2013: NOA1 (hard copy)

I know is a long journey but hopefully before i know it i'll be in the arms of the person i love

It sucks that we are so far away...since he's in Vietnam and I'm in Louisiana, our times are opposite. Morning here...evening there.

Actually there's only a 6-7 hour window for us to talk with one another...that's IF I stay up late into the early hours of the morning.

Haha i had his happen a week or so ago, I think it means "touched" , but also call to make sure no one changed ur address or ur fiances ) it's just another weird notification being sent out even though the address hasn't been changed...

And trending slower since October, which coincidentally or not, is about when the dream-act-ish applications began flooding in, many of them to CSC. We won't see the full picture of how that will affect things for awhile. But more work with no new personnel, makes it seem a bit less than an ideal situation. This is ONLY my observation, I have no "inside info" so I could be, and hope to be wrong. I definitely hope we are out of the system before the "comprehensive immigration reform" passes and kicks in though. The last time Immigration got heavily shook up back in 02-03, applicants in the system at the time referred to it as "falling into the black hole".

Ugh I really hope not..me and my fiancé aren't doing so good, it's been so hard for some reason I guess after seeing someone for 2 years straight its so strange to be apart! Haha, gosh I'm scared now...

Looks like they are finishing up July 2012. They have slowed a bit, but still faster than VSC for now.

Haha and there's the fact that they've been processing July for what seems forever..

Make at least one other copy -- you should have one for the petitioner, one for the beneficiary, at least one for safekeeping in your home files.

The consulate won't want another copy of the package that they already have. However, they might ask for the original versions of certain official documents (marriage/divorce certificates, for example) if copies of those things were sent to USCIS with the petition. It's good to bring everything that you can -- better to have it and not need it than to not have it and get a 221g because you can't provide something that the consul asks to see.

I dont think its an error, cuz i DO have an alien registration number, as I said before like there was a guy at uscis who said he SAW it. Just because I got a number doesnt mean I will get a fast approval. I think we need to stop thinking that that update means we will get an approval soon. It no longer means that Possibly! haha way to change things up on us huh :) Its been more then a month since I got the number and its been 2 or 3 months for other people But no harm in trying of course and no harm in praying!!

I was just trying to play it all out in my head..and the way I see it, when you go to the interview, when u first enter, someone takes all ur extra evidence you bring, photos and all, and other things they want a second copy of even though you sent it in with the packet to the embassy. I was just thinking, What if you want to bring in a copy of the original I129f packet you sent. Or not even that, but you know all the forms you must send in with packet 3 to the embassy? what if you wanted to bring extra copies of those just in case. Will they take all those things from you, I just think theyd be annoyed maybe and be like why are you bringing an extra copy of everything u already sent! ..but then again they kinda must not realize how a lot of times they send stuff in and then SURPRISE , they want it AGAIN at the interview haha..

well what do you guys think? any thoughts at all?

NOA!...An No your not Crazy..Its is funny My Fiance is 10,000 miles away and I talk to her more than any Girl friend I ever had here....Yes you are definetly made to communicate, also exercise patients, and understanding. Thank God for Skype and Yahoo Messenger...haha... But I will See he again in july or sooner...I going to go to be with her for here interview..

She wanted me to come back to fly here with here when she gets her visa... I dont have the moneyfor both so she had a choice of me there To hold her hand for the interview or hold her hand on the plan...She chose interview....

Hahah welcome! I know what u mean! I all to my fiancé so many times for hours throughout the day! Crazy, haha and u guys r lucky, I'm not allowed even on me embAssy soil to help my fiancé at his interview,have no idea why really....it makes no sense but for them to have extra reasons to deny ppl and put then in AP. grr..

Been there done that for more then one thing ...nothing ever gets done : P

This has been happening to almost everyone who has filed in the past few months but like no one is getting approved. I even got on a a month ago, at first I was told it was a glitch then today I found out I really got assigned one. But still no approval. Who knows what they r doing, yes everyone NORMALLY gets this before approval but for the past few months it hasn't been the case! U can find many posts about it, dnt sweat it )

So if he says he sees your A# that means its not a glitch and you'll receive a fast noa2?

No I dnt take it as a fast approval, be ause it is true that too many people have been getting this to get approved so fast. It ,iChat just even be that a person checked my case and all seems good, but now they r gonna let it sit there for a while, or maybe it looks good enough to assign an alien number but it still has to be checked by someone else and I'll need to wait or just uscis has been doing weird things...whooooo knows. People getting this might still not even have a number. It still may be a case. I saw everyoneeee, call in and get to a real immigration officer at tier 2 , and ask them if they can actually see the number or no..this guy said " I went further so I can actually SEE the number"...dnt let the whole "we'll doesnt look like u have a number..its too soon"end ur conversation..haha like I did the first 3 times..but still, I dnt think a fast approval is coming but I'd love one ))

U can still call the first number , with ur phone. Or use skype. So cheap, they even have an unlimited calling to the us plan for just 3 dollars!

Update for future readers: I now have an alien registration number...uscis guy told me he sees the number in the system..geezzz

Dude uscis is driving me crazy, this is the fourth time I've talked to someone about this alien registration number ..and it was for another problem..and this is just ...ugh haha. First they told me, it looks fine, 2 other times they told me they know for sure it's a glitch, then today while talking to a guy about the other problem ..he said he SEES my fiances alien registration number now...they drive me crazy ccrazy crazy. But still it doesn't mean I'll get approved now...just have a number..I give up anyways I just learned to wait and not care about that update

I also spoke to tier 2 !! Haha On my noa1 my fiances address was unknown, maybe its because they now entered his address ) well either way that's a touch actually ! Someone's doing something! Yay!! Ya pretty everyone is getting that now, except for a few people( and there IS always a few people who get these fast noa2s) , no one has gotten approved. At first it was a big deal cuz not many of us had this notification, but as time went on soo many people started to say they were getting it and we pretty much got that it was a glitch or something. Ya for several ppl it's been several months and still not approved so but its alright everyone! We're all in this together!

I actually received the same status update today. Have you heard anything ever since you received your status update about this change of address. I'm assuming it's a touch in my case as well. Fingers crossed.....this entire process is nerve wrecking, but I'm patient to be with the one I can't live without.

I haven't heard anymore but I was gonna call in tomorrow to make sure, cuz I don't trust them really! But hey ur fiancé is from Haiti! You guys get approved fast ) at least I think...

Your welcome! We all had much higher hopes when I first posted this and it first started happening. Now pretty much EVERYONE has been getting this..or a lot of people I mean who filed in December and January...and only a few have gotten approved fast...and a few of those approvals are from Haiti and they always seem to get fast approvals

Yep, it is ok. I did file for an expedite on medical grounds and I didn't feel bad doing it with so many November filers already approved (which we probably would have been to if it hadn't been for this error).

I know some people have been having their addresses randomly updated, so I don't think it is something big to worry about. We did get two address change notifications in the mail, but there was no indication that they changed the beneficiary's address.

Calling for the most part seems to be a waste of time and actually messed up our case, I suppose I should have just had more patience but I was worried that we would not receive any RFEs if we also didn't get the NOA1.

To get in contact with our senator, we filled out an online form on his website many have a "How can I help you?" section. Then we submitted it, printed it off, signed it and e-faxed it. It was a pretty painless process.

What was ur original problem for why u faxed it in? Was it because of a long wait?

And ya I heard people have been getting the random mailing address change but its still something o make me worry..

Maybe I should call again...haha. Well good luck again!
