Hoping to receive a interview date any day now.

Received the case complete email. A week after it was actually completed. I will start calling tomorrow for the interview date.

I was just wondering if anyone had their case transferred to the Philadelphia Field office... and if so, what was the processing time and your experience?

Philly is approving about 700 cases per month. Got mine approved in 2.5 months. Sending them to NVC is another story. They're way too slow and are making a lot of mistakes.

How long does it take to get an answer on a request to expedite?

For me it took a week and a half. It depends on your consulate.

Congressman just heard from the consulate, they didn't approve the expedite. Oh well. The case is approved and waiting for the interview. The liaison sounded upset. Anyhow, she requested I let her know of the scheduled interview date so that she can write a letter to the consulate on the behalf of the congressman requesting full and fair consideration. Would this letter be helpful / detrimental or neutral?

Oh... I just got off the phone with the NVC. When your Affidavit of Support is reviewed, it is not actually "approved" or "denied", the rep said. It is simply looked over for the embassy/consulate. When they review it and find that everything is in order, and you call for the status, they will tell you that it's "fine". If they needed anything, they would e-mail you (assuming you have registered your e-mail address with them).

I believe the term they use is "accepted"

hi did you request for expedite. I think our file was the same missing in USCIs my file just recieved by NVC last April 22. I was Approved january 29, 2013. but my file was hold for 84 days. i just want to know how did you manage to get a request for expedite. I ask this question to nvc operator they can answer me once I got my case number. appreciate your response thank you

I haven't heard back on my expedite yet, but I had my congressman request it. First I had her request the entry of my case expedited and that happened in 1 day. Then I asked for a case expedite after my IV delivered. But since my case approved, I don't really need it. Call your congressman and have them request the NVC liaison to expedite the entry of the case into the system as it took 84 days to get the file.

I am a lil skeptical for my embassy SDO they are funny if you are too organized or have lots of evidence they may suspect fraud but if you have none u may get denied . My country has high fraud . Sooooo i have everything but i didn't send all of it in just cux i don't want no red flags !

Just wanted to write as a reference to everyone who has not sent in the IV package. If you did not send in a lot of bonafide evidence during the USCIS stage, sending evidence during the NVC stage will not slow down your approval. I only sent a few pictures during the USCIS stage and sent in 1 inch thick evidence to the NVC (Phone records 20 pages front back for the last year, 5 pages front back Yahoo chats 1 chat per week, 5 pages Skype screenshot front back showing my wife and I talking to each other, 5 pages AT&T Text message record, 7 pages with 2 pictures glued per page of Engagement, 7 pages with 2 pictures glued per page of Wedding, 7 pages with 2 pictures glued per page of Honeymoon, 401k Statement showing wife as beneficiary, Pension statement showing wife as beneficiary, Life insurance showing wife as beneficiary. Even with all this additional information, the case was approved the day it began to be reviewed. So if you're afraid that sending in additional evidence will delay your approval at the NVC, don't be.

Wow, they actually lost your file? I would have a nervous breakdown if that happened to us.

Yep. They lost the file. It took essentially an act of congress (pun intended) to get USCIS to ship a copy of the case to the NVC from their system. USCIS said to re apply but the liaison worked her magic. Good luck to you also. I did have a meltdown in March when the case was lost.

We contacted our Congressman's office again today - they helped us get our petition approved - and had them call NVC for us. Here is what came of it (this is from the email we received):

I understand what you're going through. Once it gets to the NVC, ask your congressman to request an expedite of assigning the case number due to the error. My congressman requested an expedite and a case number was assigned in 1 day. Good luck.

ACCEPTED? WOOT!!!! I thought I would have a checklist because I did not submit pay stubs or an employer letter, but the fact that I submitted 4 years of tax forms (transcripts for 2009, 2010, and 2011, along with the entire filing for 2012 submitted around March 1) must have been enough for them. Awesome. I'll just send printouts of my pay stubs to my husband for the interview. Would it be a good idea to send the pay stubs to the NVC to include in our IV packet as well?

If they accepted it as is, I would worry about it. Just send it to your spouse to bring to the interview. But do email it to her. Congrats!!!

As far as the the payment not showing PAID, don't worry about it. Both of my AOS and IV were delivered while they were still IN PROCESS. As long as the front coversheet was included, you're good.

My husband just received the e-mail saying;

A letter was sent to the agent of choice or attorney of record indicating the Immigrant Visa Application and/or civil document requirements for this case are incomplete. Please submit the requested Immigrant Visa Application(s) and/or civil documents, as indicated on the checklist. The requested information must be submitted to the NVC for this file to continue processing.

That's the "fake checklist", right? They wouldn't use that wording to indicate that something was incomplete about the Affidavit of Support, would they?

I checked and found that the IV packet was delivered to the NVC about two hours ago! I'm a bit concerned because on the fee payment portal it says the payment is still "IN PROCESS", but I'm reasonably sure that it will clear before they have time to enter the IV packet into the system.

Per the Mumbai Consulate, only one PCC is needed from the local Passport office.

Per the New Delhi Consulate, if the passport is issued more than 6 months from the date of the interview, a PCC is needed from the local Passport office & the local police station.

The Mumbai consulate states the PCC is valid for one year. But the New Delhi consulate does not tell the length of validity for the PCC. Does anyone know? I emailed the consulate a few weeks back, but haven't heard back.

I agree. Never thought there would be a time when I would eagerly wait for the weekend to be over. You and I have similar timing at NVC. I am also hoping to have the case complete this week.

Well, I had the bright idea of calling the registrar's office in Scotland and the clerk on the phone said no worries, they do not stamp or seal the document, just have the registrar sign it. And if I have any questions, "refer them to this office". LOL. OK, great, I'll reply to the checklist with "Hey, go call Scotland, you ninnies".

Write a letter stating that. For my wife's adoption decree, we got a copy from the court registrar. It had written on it "true per registrar" rather than "certified". I wrote a letter explaining how the courts don't write certified and its impossible for me to get them to change their stamps for the consulate. Hoping they understand and will find out later this week to see if it worked.
