If you are denied the B2 visa do they tell you right after the interview the reasons why it was denied?
-
I guess I'm the only one with this problem.
-
Hello,
My husbands family is trying to get tourist visas. It is for 3 people. They have already filled out the B2 application and now they are in the step where they pay the fee at a local bank. The problem is that when they type in the MRV number only 2 MRV numbers go through but for the third person it does not. Do any of you know why that is?

Sweet! thank you that was helpful!
1. Read all instructions here:
http://lima.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_types/b2_tourism.html
2. How to apply for Tourist Visa B2:
http://lima.usembassy.gov/niv/apply.html
3. Apply for non-immigrant visa (submit DS-160):
https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/
4. Then create account here, schedule appointment, and how to pay fees:

Hello,
I am trying to get information about the B-2 tourist visa on the US embassy website. I saw that it says that I need to complete the DS-160 72hrs before my scheduled appointment at the embassy. So my questions is how do I make the appointment first? Do I call the embassy or is there somewhere on the US embassy website where I can schedule it?

Yes, what I listed. I think I also submitted a copy of our driver's licence that had our same address.
Well what all did you send to begin with? Just what you listed?

It seems the only thing would be pictures from that 1 year and my passport stamps of when I went there and when I left that contury

We are having a problem with request of evidence. They are asking for more documented evidence of good faith marriage from the day of our marriage to now. The thing is that we got married outside of the US and lived outside for 1 year and in that time we live in my husband's parents house so we did not own anything. My husband was in school and I did not work there so there is no documentations from that whole year. When we started having documentations was when my husband received his conditional residency and came to the US and he began working and same as me, also we applied for a joint bank account and credit card and out rent lease. So the evidence we sent in when we filled the removing the conditions was our 2013 tax returns, evidence of our joint lease, bank account and credit card statements. And they still want more evidence and we are totally stressing out on this please help!

One year after that, since that will have been a total of three years of permanent residency. As someone mentioned, the application for naturalization can be filed ninety days beforehand.
good just 1 more year. Thank you for the info!

hi
first he has to remove conditions, it's not renewing, he will be removing conditions to get the 10 year GC, just like the first time, he must prove that you have a bona fide marriage
after removing conditions, if you have been married for 3 or more years and 3 years of being a LPR, he can apply for citizenship, but after removing conditions
Yes, removing conditions sorry. Just to see if I understood, you are saying that once he gets his 10 year green card we will need to wait 3 years for him to apply for citizenship?
-
Hello everyone,
I was wondering when can my husband apply for citizenship. He came to the US with a conditional residency card which he has to renew it within 90 days before his expiration date on his card. Right now we are in the process of renewing it. So, I have heard that for him to apply for citizenship he needs to have had 3 years with his 10 year residency card before he applies. But then I hear that he can apply for citizenship once he has 3 years in the US even if he had a conditional residency card.
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.

I was able to get a copy of the lease agreement. When my husband first got his green card we lived with my parents for about 2 months then we moved to an apartment. Do you think that they will need some kind of documents or letter that says we lived with my parents because obviously there is no lease agreement there.
-
Hello everyone,
Me and the hubby are getting everything ready to get the conditions removed on the hubby's green card. For evidence I have gatherered the copies of the joint tax returns, statements of both of our checking and savings accounts and credit card. We have tried to get proof on our lease of the apartment we are in but it had been hard to reach our landlord and we want to send these documents and the application ASAP. Is the proof of the lease agreement really necesary??? And I can't really use any utility bills since they are under my name only.

Hi D&Q,
Sorry to hear that. But thank you so much for sharing your experience regarding social security card. This indeed, will be of great help to those who are applying the same services to the US.
GOd Speed!..

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share an experience my husband and I had with the whole Social Security card. When I (petitioner) was filling out the DS-260 for my husband I checked the option that stated if I wanted them share his information with the social security office so he can receive his social security card in the mail after he has entered the US. Well, since I had checked that option we were waiting for his number in the mail, he received his green card but no social security card. We decided to go to the social security office and find out well, it turns out that his information was not in their system. So, we had to reapply for a number.
I just wanted to share this with everyone so if you checked that option on the DS-260 or the DS-230 and have not yet received your social security card and it has been a while don't wait more just go to your local social security office and find out maybe your information is not in their system just how my husbands information was not.
Has anyone else had this type of experience?
-
If you do check the option of issuing a SSN card on your DS-230 it comes automatically after your arrival in the US. But if you didn't you will have to go a Social Security Office to apply.
I did check that option and no social security card me and my husband had to go to the SS office and they told us that his application was not in file, so we needed to reapply for one.
-
Is there a way to find out what is your social security number before it turns into a month from the time my spouse entered the US?
-
You'll have to go to the Social Security office and ask about it there. Without a number already in hand, you can't get any help on their phone line.
Take all the pertinent documentation with you.
Ok thanks!

Our I-130 was approved this week and has not yet been received at the NVC. I'm in the U.S. and my wife is in Peru. I have been using the NVC shortcuts form this site and getting everything ready.
I have the DS-3032 signed by my wife. I understand the I-864 Affidavit of Support and have it ready. My wife is currently gathering the following documents in Peru.
Birth Certificate (needs to be RENIEC certified)
Criminal Record Certificate (Certificado Judical de Antecedentes Penales)
Nationwide Criminal Records (Antecedantes Judiciales a Nivel Nacionel)
Passport Photos
I already have our marriage certificate and a copy of bio page of her passport, and the signed DS-230. My understanding is when I submit the DS-230 to the NVC I will submit all of these documents. I also understand that since all of the documents are from Peru, and the interview will be at the American embassy in Peru, I will not need official translations.
I would appreciate any comments, am I one the right track? Or missing anything?
Since your wife is from Peru the DS-3032 is not necessary you will need to fill out a DS-260 which is online. The DS-260 is the same thing as the DS-3032 just that it is online. That's what me and my husband did and my husband is from Peru.

Did you check the box to send it automatically ? if not he has to go down to the social security office and apply for one.
Yes, I did check that box. The thing is that I need the number to fill out the Selective Service and I have seen that it can take about a month to receive the social security card. And we need it asap.
-
How can I find out what is my husbands social security number? We need it to register him on the selective service. And as I have seen on some timelines is that it takes up to a month to receive the social security card; and we only have 30 days to register him from the time he entered the US. He entered on Oct. 19.
-
On sss.gov, it says immigrants can fill out the selective service card online. Why doesn't he just do that?
Yes, that's what I was wondering if he can just do it online since he is an immigrant I didn't know if we can do it online. Then what should I do with the sheet of paper that I was asked to print out when I was filling out the DS-260 online?
-
How old is your husband? If he was 26 years or older when he entered the US, he doesn't need to register.
He is 23.

Hello everyone,
My husband entered the US with a CR-1 visa on October 19. I was wondering how my husband can do the Selective Service can I just do it online? That's how I did it when my brother turned 18. When I was filling out the DS-260 online I had the option to print out a form with this title:
U. S. Department of State
NOTICE OF DUTY TO REGISTER WITH U.S.
SELECTIVE SERVICE SYSTEM
I don't know if we need to mail that with an application of the selective service. Please I need the help it only states that it needs to be sent in withing 30 days after entering the US.
