  1. woohoo.. my kitty is an Aloha kitty now. Dave is giving me a minute by minute account of how hes settling in. the latest message was 'he peed' haha. I think this man is excited to have his cat friend in Hawaii. AND I just booked another trip to go and see him, which I guess is actually 'them' now ... them, only 5 weeks to wait!

Yay Kitty! That is too cute!

That's great you're going to see him soon. I'll be visiting in Sept and then again in Oct. I already have flights booked for both. 6 more weeks to go for me. Hope the time flies for us!

It's almost FRIDAY! I'm ready for the weekend.

  2. in other news. My Cat is moving to Hawaii tomorrow. :D

Lucky cat! What visa did it come over on?? teehee

I wish I could put my finace in a crate and have him shipped to me.

Sorry, it's getting late in the afternoon and I'm getting punchy.

I totally understood what you meant, no worries. There is always a little part of me that gets jealous of the ones who get expidited or just approved early for no reason other than luck. But it also gives me hope that I might be one of the lucky ones.

  3. Can you believe it is almost August and three months. :wow:

Did you see that a May filer (5/7) got NOA2 yesterday? That got me excited!

I actually just made 2 months, but I'm feeling better about this process now. The time has gone pretty quickly and it doesn't seem so far away now. Just praying that there are no hiccups along the rest of the journey.

Only 46 more days until my next visit with Jordan. I hope this time flies by...seems too far away right now :crying:

  4. Thanks Patty! It's great to be here. It's like a big deep breath of fresh air to be connected with people in the same boat. Whenever I get asked by or talk to someone about our visa process, I get looked at like I'm from another planet. Now I can come here and everyone now exactly what I'm talking about. :)

Yeah, no one outside of this can possibly understand how difficult this is. The constant worry that something will go wrong, a RFE, a rejection after months of waiting, a delay for some stupid reason, worse yet a denile. Did I include enough evidence, did I leave a blank where a N/A should have been. I have nightmares. I know we will all laugh about it a year from now. For the time being its nice to have our little support group here.

I got a call from Jordan from Cozumel (lucky duck!) today and he is thrilled to be working again. We initially thought he was going to be stuck in Canada for the entire process, therefore not be able to work. We got some bad information from an attorney that we did NOT hire (whew)that he would be unable to leave to work. Thanks goodness for this site and others who have given us good information. Oh how I wanted to be there with him instead of stuck in my office.

  5. I had to post our good news! No, we did not get our NOA2 (I wish!) but Jordan was able to get through to border to go join his ship in Tampa!! He is so happy. He will be able to work for the next 4 months while we wait. They really took their time reviewing all his documents but he said they were most interested in the Hard Copy NOA1. So glad he had it with him! They stapled something to his passport and sent him on his way.

  6. Just think, in a couple months we'll start seeing May approvals! Hopefully they keep up the current pace and for those at the VSC, I really hope things improve there for you.

I've become obsessed with watching Igor's List. I really need to stop or I'll go crazy.

Sounds like you're making great progress on the packing and selling! I bet you're exhausted.

I'm home from work and it's time for a beer.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  7. It's getting close to having to go back to the UK, not looking forward to leaving my darling fiancée. =(

Happily, my parents bought her a return ticket to the UK for her birthday, so she'll be over with me from August to October.

I know how that feels. You have a long visit to look forward to in August though. I had to leave Canada the last time knowing that I wont see him again until Sept 9th. 64 more days, but who's counting. :crying: He goes back to work a week from tomorrow so the only way I will be able to see him is to take a cruise on his ship. I don't have enough vacation days to go any sooner.

I noticed on Igor's list that a couple March filers got their NOA2! Getting closer to May....

  8. It's hot in the Midwest, so I plan to do all inside activities. It is 107 degrees for the next few days.

Are you still baking? Our 4th was drizzley and overcast :-( Still had a fun day though.

    Hi!

WE filed our application May 30th and got NOA1 June 8th but they actually received June 6th..

Hope it won't take that long the whole thing!

Waiting is the hardest part...Goodluck to us!

Welcome! It indeed is. The Tom Petty song with that title should be our anthem here.

  9. so I'm doing similar to you I guess Patty, cleaning out the house, though I imagine doing yours is going to be a little emotional.

Yeah, that's why I want to work on my own place on Sunday for a much happier reason. Saturday is going to be tough, I know it.

Wow, you much be going crazy with suddenly having to deal with packing up now.

I think staying busy is going to be the key to getting through these months of waiting....

  10. It's FRIDAY!! Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

It should be a quiet weekend for me. I need one as the last couple of months have been pretty crazy. Saturday I get to start the not-so-fun task of sorting through my parents things and cleaning out the house. I'm not looking forward to this.

Sunday is Canada day so I think I should celebrate by getting rid of stuff at my house and making room for my Canadian and his stuff.

  11. We're planning for the legal part ASAP, so we can file the AoS as quick as we can, and then we'll have a ceremony for family and friends later on.

We were going to do the same, first to the courthouse for the legal part and then a ceremony for friends and family later. He will need to get his AP soon since he will need to leave the US to go back to work. However we decided to go ahead and just do the one wedding since we can use my friend's property for the ceremony and reception and wont require too much advance planning. I'd rather him be "stuck" here a little longer anyway :P

Haven't even thought about a Honeymoom!

  12. Anyone thinking about their wedding date and plans??? We are hoping for December 12th.

    :star:

When I was visiting his family last weekend his mom kept bringing up the wedding. She really made me nervous! I was hoping for something very simple, but I think she's hoping for more. I think I've come up with a compromise.

Haven't talked about a date since we really don't know how long this will take, but we've been discussing where to do it. It's so hard to plan when you can't pick a firm date. It looks like a good friend of mine will help me out with the location so I'm relieved about that.

  13. Patty, sorry to hear of your father's passing, but I'm glad for you that your fiance was there with you. (F)

Thanks. It was a great comfort to have him here.

I just returned from Canada last night. I flew back up with him on Friday since I had the weekend planned for a visit before I lost my father. I'm struggling today since I know I wont be seeing him again until sometime in September, but I know I was very fortunate to have the time that I did.

    Back to the waiting game.....
