  1. I'm confused - why are people tracking DHL deliveries? Are you following your i129f from the NVC to the consulate? Or somehow... the Packet 3 deliveries leaving the consulate? I just called the NVC, and they were able to tell me when they sent our stuff to the Montreal Consulate, and that Montreal had received it the following day. Still have no idea when Packet 3 will be sent out though - I think we're supposed to allow a week before calling DOS to ask. Am I missing something? :)

We were just tracking it from the NVC to the Consulate. If you already know it's there, no need to track DHL. Check over in the regional section for Canada. There seems to be a ton of info for Montreal. I'm at Vancouver so I can't answer how Montreal works. Good luck!

  2. You go to the website, and fill it out. Not sure how it's confusing. You do not need DS-160. This is the link to the website to book your interview:

    http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/ss_country_welcome

    You click create account.

It asks if you have created your account/paid your fee. Click no if you haven't. Fill out the information.

I can't go past that screen, but as far as I recall, it asks you for your case number and a few other things then it will let you book the interview.

We should be receiving P3 very soon so I'll be watching how this unfolds. I'll let you know if anything has changed in the P3 istructions. I know it hasn't on the consulate web site

  3. Still praying for you both, and for her recovery.

Yes Brock, I will be keeping her in my prayers while she goes through surgery. My heart goes out to you as I cannot imagine how hard this is on you. I know that she is aware that you are thinking of her every minute.

    Keep us posted.

well no, except for calling and verifying with NVC.

I called....it's me!!! Sent out yesterday

    Thanks for the tip!

  4. Patty,

the couple that got their NOA2 the same day as me, have marked that NVC has received their petition. yours should be there too - or winging its way to Vancouver. I'm just waiting till I hear from the embassy personally. I actually think we'll get the email when I'm there. just 3 more sleeps!! :dancing:

    3 more! Lucky you! I have 11.

I did call the NVC and they do have it. I got my case # from her, but that was it. She said that the embassy will contact my fiance when they get it. She was rather short with me. Guess she was tired of us VJers calling. LOL I was on hold nearly 30 minutes when I called.

I'm wondering how people get the date the NVC received it and the date it left.

  5. NOA2'ers... have you started getting your things together? got everything together perhaps?

anyone else getting things together yet?

and.. just 5 more sleeps till I visit Hawaii again! v. excited now.

Like you, Jordan is happy to have the "ball in his court" He's been working on his forms and already ordered his BC. I'm still collecting proof of our continued relationship. I'll be working on organizing all of our info so we'll be able to easily find things during the interview.

I spent yesterday at my friends house working out details for the wedding, so we're making progress there too.

12 more days before I head out for my cruise!

  6. Hi, we've got our NOA2 on Aug 17 and luckily got the hard copy after 3 business days.

I hope you got your MNL # by now :) We got ours 4 business days (post NOA2)

Once you're assigned with MNL #, pay the $240 or 10, 360 php (per Aug 24 currency conversion)fee to BPI and schedule an interview. Don't need to wait for the hard copies from the Consulate, all required forms are accessible online.

    Good luck!

My NOA2 date was the same as yours. Did you call to get your number? I haven't yet.

  7. I fianlly got the nerve to go dress shopping yesterday. I didn't completly freak out but I was close. :hehe: I'm glad I did it as now I have a much better idea of what I want. This one was my favorite

We're requesting no gifts so we wont be registering. We're older and don't really need anything. I'm actually glad to be skipping this part. I remember going through it 25 years ago. My mom was there to help me back then. I lost her last year so she can't help me this time :crying:

I'm a little concerned about doing an outdoor wedding in January, but it's So Cal so chances are it will be nice. We'll rent tents if needed.

My previous experience was that the guy wants nothing to do with the planning anyway so him being away doesn't really make a difference

  8. Weird the link didn't work for you... Anyway, I just sent an email with the attachment of the file instead. It's safe to open, I swear ;)

And I'm not sure about the cruise ship thing. You might want to just include a paragraph about it below on the supplemental sheet, stating the average time he usually spends at the ports, how long in between going back to Canada and coming back to the US to work on the cruise ships, and how long he's been doing this. I assume he had to still go through US customs, right? If so, make sure you include a statement in the paragraph that each time he's come to the US that he was inspected by a US Customs officer.

You could always try calling up NVC and asking about this, or creating a separate thread about it.

Thank you soo much! I did receive it. I'm at work and a lot of stuff gets blocked here so that is probably why the link did not work. I could probably open it at home but it's better to have a file I can copy and paste from.

I'm going to start drafting the paragraph to explain the cruise ship contract situation. I'm just relieved we can explain things this way. My poor fiance was freaking out last night trying to construct all his visits. He's 54 years old and always lived near the border, so you can only imagine the number of times he's crossed besides the trips for his job. I told him I would work on something based on advice I could get here. He was glad to let me help!

    Thanks again!

  9. I think most Canadians have that problem. Here's the supplemental sheet I made for my process: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lNEm0btviWXw89jNWv0fh1sgPpo8-f2DpVXdv3SFWss/edit#bookmark=id.26d497d460f3

We're in the process now of filling this out. Living near Vancouver he's visited numerous times. Also he passes through to join cruise ships in US ports to go to work. He did not have a visa as the ships are foreign flagged so he is not working IN the US, just from a port in the US. We're struggling how to list this. He's been doing this job for over 20 years.

I tried to open your link to see your example but it is not working for me. Could you possibly email it to me at sk8rpatty3@yahoo.com ?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks!
