Yesterday I Paid and sent DS-230 and some other documents. So if my case is closed by end of FEB. When I expect interview for my father in Bombay Consulate ? Any guess ?

My case closed Dec 13th and I got the interview date for March 1.

The norm seems to be slightly over 2months after NVC closes the case file. You would be looking at end of April to early May I'm thinking.

IF that is real, they should arrest his idiot a** or fine him for making a prank call to 911. At the very least they should fine him for being a moron. ( I can dream can't I?)

I just checked today about mine. I received the appointment email on 1/31 and I called that Friday and they told me it wasn't sent. But when I called today, I learned they DID send it Friday. (apparently they hadn't updated the system at the time I called). It's best to keep checking maybe every other day in my opinion, because honestly it should be the next day or very shortly after that- if all goes right. If it doesn't leave their office , then you might have a snag that needs fixing. As for me, I want a snag free journey - even it means driving NVC folks bonkers.

You should continue checking your emails for the appointment date and/or call them. I got my email just TODAY (was totally not expecting it this soon!!) and my hubby is scheduled for Mumbai on 3/1/2013.

Me thinks you are correct. They would've been sipping the mint julip. And the Indians would have been cooking venison burgers while the pale faces toiled away and sang the blues.

I think the plain fact of the matter is, guns were created under the pretext of "defense" but I think the majority of American history shows that guns were much more often used for aggressive actions. (with the exception of the revolution).

We are going to have to start working on the root issues of these problems. Let's start with decent mental care for these troubled PEOPLE that kill with guns! Oh wait... no.. that would involve government spending. Treating people with mental issues= big government spending. Scratch that idea.

Any alternative issues the far right and the NRA speak of, there is absolutely NO plan in the works for. WHY? This is the root of the problem correct? So why aren't RW politicians feverishly working overtime to solve this national crisis and brainstorming ideas and proposing legislation? Oh wait... that would involve actual work in congress. Well, as he doesn't really have much hair to speak of...I guess I'd have to go with paper. Maybe he needed to organize his notes for all this "educating" he was going to do for the general public. I'm sure the educational experience was beneficial and enlightening for all involved

My neighbors smoked pot on a regular basis and it was always coming into our apt.

Since the place was bought by the new landlords, the rules have been enforced and the smell has stopped.

I have never been in the presence of anyone smoking weed, but came close.

I used to deal at a card game and someone I knew pulled it out once and I looked him in the eyes and said 'if you light that up, i'm out of here' and that was that.

I have smoked pot before - but I didn't inhale. Seriously though, I used to have a roomate that was into the pot scene and eventually broke into full throttle drugs (I moved out with a quickness when things started going missing from my room). I did actually partake of a bong once and me and the roomate spent a good 20-30 min with dueling toilets - that was the LAST time I did that- ahhh college. I'll never understand having a good buzz punctuated with a round of ralphing in the john as "having a good time".

I am a regular smoker of cigs though (at the moment) and I do thoroughly enjoy myself a nice cold beer, a fine wine, or a strong cocktail occasionally.

I forgot to add that when my hubby and I got married, we spent 6 weeks in a small flat with one bathroom- in India. All decorum went out the window. We spent one night fighting for the toilet.....sh** got real. Literally.

I'm thinking of marketing a new form of birth control that I feel fairly certain would be 100% effective. And even better, I think 'ole Rush himself might even approve since his wife seems to benefit from it. I just need to find a good artist to design the Rush Limbaugh boudoir masks. Whadda ya think?

Not necessarily....some embassies/consulates schedule all month whereas some it would seem (for example my hubby's) only schedule for the one week out of the month. So, it's possible there might still be some filtering in.

Oh well crisis averted. Took care of those stragglers and nowww.....back to my relaxation and a nice cup of chai. Yeahhhhh...that's the ticket!

Just had a nice hot shower and shaved my legs and feeling all AHHH.....refreshed and smooth- only to find 3 lengthy hairs around my ankle that I missed. *drops dramatically on the floor shaking fists in the air* Nooooooo!!!

p.s. I try to jazz up the boring by adding theatrics.
