  1. We are in the DR right now and are almost done with the NVC. We will be here until the end of the month but I am sure we will not get our interview while we are here but can we take our daughter to get her medical with only her sdo# or do we have to wait for the packet we will receive after all done at NVC?

  2. K-1 visas have a very different process at NVC than the spouse or family visas. So, its hard to compare timelines. I finally got my new case number a week ago and am now waiting for the invoice to pay my fees at the nVC and file DS 230. Already sent DS3032 but haven't heard if it was accepted. I thought thungs were supposed to speed up after you received your new case number and invoice number but NO! Trying to have payience like everyone else! :-) at least we get to spend the month with our little girl since we are visiting right now. but its going to be so hard to leave her this time since I'm sure we will not be assigned an interview this month.

  3. A few days ago (when I was in the states), I was able to sign on the invoice page with my case number and invoice number but it told me that I couldn't pay because it hadn't been invoiced. But when I checked yesterday (from the DR) it would not even let me into the site. It says the site cannot process my payment at this time and to contact the NVC if I have any questions. Its been a week since they gave me the new case number, invoice number, and beneficiary number. We sent the change of agent paper via email from My husband's email so he will receive all her papers. We haven't heard anything. no word on paying the fees or submitting the DS 230. Should I be worried? I know everything takes time, it took almost a month for the NVC to recieve our packet from USCIS but three days later they had assigned a new case number. I thought it speeded up from that point. I am trying not to worry. We are out of the country visiting for a month and its hard to call the NVC but maybe I'll just have to do that. I don't want to slow down the process because I miss something being down here.

  4. Help! It looks like everything i find is about spouses. We submitted an I-130 also but its unclear if we have to submit the DS 230 and DS 3032 just like the spouse visa. Ours is for our little girl. I gave my email to the NVC and my husband's email for his daughter. do I need to send a change of agent form? Or will they automatically already send the packet to my husband at his email? Thanks!

  5. Just to give you all a little hope. Yesterday I would have been in the same boat as you, approval on May 30 and everyday they told me that they had not recieved it. Last week I sent an email with a scanned copy of my approval to NVCresearch@state.gov. Today's call went a little better, they have it but then they told me it will take then 10-15 business days to get it into the system. Its so frustrating that it's taking so long. Hope your good news comes soon! Best we can be is patient.

  6. Oh sorry just assumed that she was a little one. If she is capable of dealing with the packet you don't have to do the change of agent. Also, you don't need to wait for a visa to come available. What i meant is that you will be given a new case number, different from the case number that you had at the USCIS. Thatwill be the new number that you will use to track your case. The invoice ID # is the number that will allow you to pay the fees that are due to the NVC. I hope that makes more sense. I've been told not to wait the 15 business days they tell you to wait, but to only wait a week and then call every day.

Wishing you a speedy time at NVC

  7. Congrats! I know that very excited feeling that then just becomes another wait and see time period. When I brought my husband, the NVC was just a pass through and so quick. I have been reading everywhere that unfortunately its not that easy with our children. Mine was approved May 30. I started calling them on June 4th to see if I had a new number. They told me they don't have it yet and don't expect it until June 20th. At that point I can get the new number and the invoice ID #. i've been told we will need to submit our support info, like taxes and pay an additional fee. I think the fee is $88+230. You will also give them your email and need to submit a change of agent form so that they send you the packet instead of the beneficiary. I don't know how to link you to another post but if you search for Lingche NVC shortcut on this website it gives you all kinds of great advice. I hope our cases go through much quicker than is actually predicted. I'm sure you are just as anxious to have your step-daughter here with you as I am. But I do get to go spend a month with her next month, so I feel especially lucky. All the best and please let me know if you hear anything from the NVC.

    Best

  8. Thanks for the info. It's interesting because i didn't show the support documents until we were at the interview for my fiance who is of course now my husband. Also, we paid the $230 at the interview as well. The NVC weblink you sent says NVC collects that fee for the embassies andd uses the word "if" requested. Does that mean it's a possibility that they might not ask for the supportdocument until the interview and that the fee if paid at the NVC would not have to be paid again at interview? Oh and who did they send the packet to with all the instructions and medical info?

    Thanks
