Got back yesterday from Cebu on KAL. Top notch...P.S. No faster way to get to Cebu from Atlanta than KAL even with the 3-4 hour stop in Korea.
I flew over from Seoul with a guy from Atlanta. He said the same about the time frame. I do agree its top notch. Best airline I've ever flown.

I've flew in May 2002 and Dec 2010 using Korean Air and it was a good experience (except the 3 hours or more layover in Seoul). It's definitely cheaper than Philippine Airline especially during the holidays. I've only flew with Delta few times within the US and of course too many flight delays and missing luggage later.
If you don't mind paying at least $100 more, just take PAL saves her the trouble of connecting flights unless she's comfortable with it.
Safe flight and welcome to US soon!
Layovers......yea....12 hours today sitting in Seoul.......
But while sitting here, I went to the korean air site. Booking there I can beat anything on line by $600, so only a couple hundred more than Delta andi just can't stand to fly delta.
Thanks everybody for your input!

I have taken two trips to Manila this year to see my fiancee. The first one was on Cathay Pacific and the second on Delta. Cathay is definitely in my opinion superior in service and quality over Delta, but there were no real issues for me on Delta. I flew coach on both trips, and the limited ammenities in coach were very similar actually, it's just minor things that were noticed. Coincidentally on the leg from Manila to Tokyo on the return on Delta, there were no personal tv monitors in coach, only the one big screen tv at the front of each section along with the drop down small monitors about every 3rd row. Someone asked about this to one of the flight attendants and was told that there were only 2 - 747's in Delta's fleet that had not been upgraded with the personal entertainment centers etc and this just happened to be one of them. Luckily I had to change planes in Tokyo and got one of the refurbished or upgraded 747's for the long haul back to the states. I don't think you will have any issues with Delta IMO but I don't know what class you are flying and I can only speak from my experience.
I fly coach....Korean has monitors and loads of movies on their planes. Good food, no charge, etc. lots of leg room to. Both delta and Korean are mileage partners with Alaska Air, so it needs to be one of them. Gotta get that mileage!
Thanks

We're in the planning stages of going to get Rovie. I have been flying Korean Air to and from Cebu and just love them. BUT......in looking at airfare for the first of December, there is a huge difference between Korean and Delta. Flying Delta in the states, IMHO, sucks. I avoid them when ever I can for domestic travel. So can someone tell me how they are on the overseas routes? Anyone with experience with both?

Pay also depends on location and industry. Salary can vary vastly even across just one state. Pay differentials exist from say San Francisco to Bakersfield due to the cost of living. The other factor is the complexity of the industry you are in. With that said, if you and your employer agreed to a salary, and you are not happy, search for another position. Just make sure the entire pay package is considered. Ie.....benefits, vacation, bonus, incentive pay etc, etc.....good luck!

On the DS230 and 156, does the k1 mother sign for the underage k2? He's only 7. Can these be signed in front of the CO? We were signing everything today while I am here and needed guidance......thanks
I guess we finally stumped the forum.....

We have these concerns to, but one thing we are doing, besides skyping etc everyday, is that I am over on a two week vacation and we rented an apartment. This gives us the perspective (although limited) of where we need to adjust, what I need to prepare back home for her and how we will interact together when we play house for real. It's really, for me anyway, an excellent experience to see how she and her son live so that I can tweak what needs to be tweaked from my perspective before she gets there. She likes lots of sunshine and living in Alaska in the winter, well, that won't happen. But I can' change out lighting and place SAD lighting to help her. It's also good for her because we are really getting in tune to the communications issues that all couples have at first. making sure that we both explain our needs. My point is this will somewhat ease the stress when she shows up. It may not work for everybody, but it is helping us.

We have almost exactly the same circumstances, except a bigger age spread. So far so good. We have our interview November 6. Good luck!

Skype, Yahoo, phone calls and email. I hate Skype but love the fact that at least we see each other daily. Goodbyes are so hard, but each time You say it you are one less goodbye away......

It was a stupid movie, but in this country we have a little thing called free speech.. Besides, it wasnt the U.S. government that made the movie.

I was wondering how this would affect the interviews. I am sure they are concerned about everyone's safety.
-
Start calling the NVC and get your number, then pay the visa fee so you can schedule. Until that is done, you can't get the interview.
-
I wish we could. Life would be so much easier! We will useSeattle.
-
Less frustrating because we had tried online for two days and nothing opened, even when others were getting appointments. One call and we were booked. Maybe just the luck of the draw, but it worked for us......
-
Once scheduled you can go online and attempt to reschedule. As far as booking on line, it just didn't work for us. We called. Much faster, less frustration. Good luck!
-
We should do the same......but instead we make the illegals almost legal.........

We have our interview on November 6th! Wooooo hoooo......

I saw where others wer getting appointments tonight so I kept refreshing and my baby called and she got the date we needed due to the distance of travel for me. I will be with her. Anyway, thanks to everybody here for the encouragement and postings. What a great site! Our interview is November 6,

I did the same as Mr Smiley recommends

So I refreshed about a zillion times....nothing.. Did it this morning, then today, then tonight. All I got was the you've exceeded message. So off to plan B........I called....and was told no more appointments for October, the C.O. Has stopped all appointments for October because they have to many. A few have been scheduled for November, but they wouldn't schedule any more at this time. The recommendation was to go online.....I just had to laugh.....so I guess we call every hour until something happens......
