  1. I personally send about the same amount to colombia. its not to my in laws either(since they hate me). i send money to my niece's mom. I pay for her schooling and expense( my brother in law is a dead beat). I am currently helping her mother to open a business in bogota selling things from the usa. Hopefully this i will lift the strain so much on me because she will have income. but i totally agree that it can get outta control. at one point i was sending over 500 a month. but i since have changed my preferences on what she can and cannot have. and whats a luxary vs whats a neccesity

  2. question 15 pertains to your spouse or relative

"In D, question 2, it asks if I filed before. I did, for a K-1 visa, about two years ago. We never did anything past the NOA2 stage since we broke up. I think I filed in September 2010, but I don't recall where I sent it. How can I check where I sent the petition, and also, will this affect my current petition? Do I have to explain why we abandoned it"

You have to disclose that you did file previous. If you abandoned the petition I am not sure what you should do about that. if you wanna find out about the case just call USCIS and they might be able to bring it up.

maybe someone else on here knows about that particular question.

question 21: write ins this formate. 04/2012( or whenever you started living together) to Present

  3. I recently got married in Jamaica and need to file for my husband, I am a US citizen, I have contacted a few attorneys but they all give you their cost and cost to file the first document. They will not go into details, a few people tell me I can do it myself I just need to know how to start.

    .

if you call USCIS they will tell you which forms you need and plus if you go to guides here on VJ it will also help you get started.

  4. I had photos of various events/trip throughout our relationship, life insurances/retirement accounts listing my wife as the beneficiary, health insurance, bank statements/apartment lease contract listing both our names on it, ID's showing that we live in the same residence, and also a copy of our complete 2011 tax return showing we filed married jointly. That's all I can remember right off the top of my head.

we have all that minus pictures. I mean we have some but not a bunch. I guess i should start taking pictures. I am just worried

  6. You should take a copy plus the originals of everything you submitted when you apply plus additional documents gathered, while you were awaiting your interview, that reveals a stable marital foundation. Take pictures before, during and after the marriage and include some that shows you both with family and friends, vacation, movie, park, etc. if there are additional co-mingling of new assets, take a copy and the original of those as well. All the best :)

man o man! pictures of wedding were lost. i only have 1 picture that survived the flood., vactaions( only i have gone alone and that was to colombia to meet the family i have picutures with them.)I also have pictures with him and my mother at my grandmother funeral.we have spent alot of time with my family and his but pictures never crossed me mind. in 4 years i probably can show them 10 pictures that include he and I. plus my in laws hate me and so i do not go around them anymore.assests YES!!! we have, will the lack of pictures make us deined?

Oops I was so excited that I might actually know the answer to something I didn't even notice that you have already done the interview at the embassy which is the one I was talking about.

    Sorry

no its okay. i appericate the feedback. generally on my post here i barely get replies. so i was excited to see a reply.

If you look in the Colombia portal forums (sorry i don't know how to make a link) OZ62 has posted copies of his letters in both english and spanish that lists all of the things you need for your interview. Perfect for advance preperations.

It's only a couple threads below this one.

    THANKS OZ62

thanks i found it inside the portal but thats for a visa. I am doing AOS from a b2 visa overstay
