  1. Hi Everyone

This site is always helpful for me so I decided to share my experience here. I had Interview scheduled for citizenship in Oct 2015.  Few days before the interview I got the call that my interview is on hold due to some reason and they will send me a new date. I went to the local office many time, visited the congressman office, etc did everything which I could. And the answer was the same (Application is under background check) Finally I got my interview today. and Guess what. It took less than 30 minutes. I passed. Officer was very Nice. and it was one of the best experience. my message to other waiters. Please don't lose patience. The process takes time but it will be fruitful one day.

  2. Hi

I have citizenship interview tomorrow 8 am but today received called from lady around 12 and she said she is calling from local uscis office and they didn't get my file yet so they are going to reschedule my interview and I will receive notice in few days.

After that I called to uscis help line just for verification and they said they don't have any such information in their system but some time local offices do call and inform like this.

So what is advice for me? shall i wait or go for interview tomorrow.

  3. hello all dear friends iam in AP in islamabad from last 2 months.iam the beneficary(male) and my wife is the petitioner USC.she was with me during the interview and she is still here with me.she is calling twice in a week to DOS and islamabad embassy, but still my case is AP.she emailed to isl embassy aswel and they replied very next day that,we dont need any thing from you,as your case is in PENDING AP.now i have 3 questions?

1)when we had interview we got blue refusal sheet 221(g),that states that we need to do additional administrative process, but now embassy is saying pending AP.any one know the difference between these two?

2)how do they inform us that our AP is over?by e-mail or phone call.

3)is it ok to call or contact to ISL embassy or DOS as much as we can?

if any one have idea please share with me...i will appreciate that.

    thanks to all in advance...

Mine AP got clear in 5 month. Had interview in April and got passport in September. American Express will call you form pp collection. No beneficial to call any one. it will come byself

  4. Hello everyone, my husband had his interview at islamabad embassy for ir-1/cr-1 about a week ago. Result was AP, the interviewer said it would take 4 months maybe less maybe more ... who knows! Anyhow my question is , the interview only lasted like 15 min, he didn't look at any of the proof my husband brought even though my husband offered, he just looked at wedding pics and said everything looks good, and kept his passport an told him AP. However he returned all the original documents to my husband that we submitted at the NBC stage, and told my husband he did not need photocopies either, the interviewer didn't even keep th copies of te AOS packet an the Ds-230 packet either, that we were told thy would ask for at the interview. However a good sign is that theykept his passport and didn't ask for anything else. I guess I'm just nervous bc they didn't keep any copies, is that normal ?? or happened to anyone else??

Nothing to worry. It is normal process. Mine AP took 5 month to complete.

  5. hello all vj pakistani members.this is really a serious topic that is iam going to start.iam also in AP from last 30 days, not only me but as far as im aware 98% of my brothers and sisters from pakistan, despite completing all the requirements,as per USA laws, from uscis, nvc and atlast embassy islamabad, still go to the AP process, just for nuthing only they have one reason just to check security back grounds.they check everything before when we submit our application to uscis, they check all the documents and security checks then arrange a interview.but after passing the interview at islamabad embassy, the embassy have only one answer that we need to work more on your case so we will let you know when we done it,it might take some time starts from 15 days to 6 months may be more than that.

my point is that why this AP is only for pakistani immigrants.i know they do AP for other embassies aswel but average AP for others is 45 days the most.who is responsible for this,i think one and only govt of pakistan, because we and govt of pakistan are right hand of usa in war of terrorism and usa have to have a smooth and fast visa policy for pakistan, but sorry to say that our pakistani govt is really scared to talk to usa govt, our govt can only talk on one issue that is AID in shape of dollars..there was only one person who used to talk with other govts on visa issue and that was gen parveez musharaf,i rememberd that in the year of 2005 when UK GOVT announce that they will no more issue asylums or student visa to pakistanis, very second day he called the british prime minister TONY BLAIR,and spoke to him in hard words that we pakistanis are ur partners in war of terriorsm, and we are not expeting this from your govt.so result come the british govt took their decision back and increased the visa ratio for pakistanis and on priority basis.

so now i can only say that we pakistani people are facing AP becoz of our govt,if they talk to the usa govt on this matter than atleast we can get some benefit, but no way our govt need only DOLLARS not benefits for people of pakistan...................

Well it has nothing to do with your views. They don't only put pakistani in AP they almost do with every immigrant around the globe. so don't be frustrate. Mine took 5 month to clear. So just relax and wait.

  6. Hi every1 so i went in for my interview yesterday . Got an AP. saw like almost 7 other interviews and actually listened to them very carefully while i was waiting. They all were placed on AP 4 ver males and 3 ver females.

Now herez the interesting part idk it means anything or not but i noticed it.

Everytime they were handing over the 221g sheet they ver telling the candidates abt how long it will take.

Some were told few weeks to months

1 guy was told 2-3 months or more

2nd Guy was told 6 months or more

but all of them were given the same green sheet.

Had Interview in April and visa issued in September. so keep 6 month in mind.

  7. When embassy asked for the Original Birth Certificate along with the packet 3, I sent them the one made by NADRA. The original one, they accepted it and scheduled my Appointment for the Interview. Now do I need to re-make the original birth certificate to take along with me to the interview or not ?

Moreover, the NADRA's (English Translated) computerized certificate is okay or should we take that manually made Birth Certificate one made locally by the court and later attested ?

Kindly help me in this regard.

(They have already scheduled my Interview date)

There is No need now. They will give you your original back after interview. just keep its copy.

  8. My case will be at 4 months in a few days. I know normally its taking more then 5 months, but does that mean they don't even look at the file for this long? My case hasn't even been touched. And after they start reviewing it how long does it normally take to review a case? Just wondering because next month will be 5 months and I have no updates on my case. Should I call them next month?

You have long process ahead. so who said it will take 6 month. Keep in mind around 2 years. After interview they put case in AP which normally take 5-6 month :(
