Hello all,
My fiance has an interview on April 27 in Moscow. Ive sent her all the supporting documents (for ex: affidavit, bank statemts, etc) VIA mail and i also emailed it to her. Crazy thing is she still did not recieve the mail. Question is, can she print it out and use the copies i emailed her, i mean it is pretty much the same thing only the signature won't be orginal. Does this depend on the officer whether originals are required or is it a rule?
If anyone has similar care or has any advice please help us out.
thx
She need orginal documents for her interview.

Hii everyone,
Today has been 1 month and 4 days since I rcvd the NOA1 and I am going crazy thinking how much longer this will take because I´ve seen ppl taking up to a year.... I am very desperate now thinking what should I do whether I can move or simply just continue working and waiting for any reply for them. I hope this process won´t take much longer. =(
You are not alone. I'm also very desperate to hear good news of our NOA2. Hopefully with no RFE.

Congratulations!!!

Hi Everyone,
I'm a bit confused about what needs to go into the Packet 3. I've got everything in hand except for the medical results. I had my medical done at the start of the week and the Dr is not exactly in a hurry to send the results.
The Packet 3 instructions say to send your medical results, but the Dr insists that I'm not to post them and I'm to take them with me to my interview. I checked with the Sydney IV unit by email and they state they won't accept my Packet 3 and schedule and interview without them. However, there was a girl having her medical for the K1 at the same time as me who already had her interview date.
See my confusion?
What did everybody else do. I want to apply for my interview ASAP.
K
It is best to follow what on the packet 3 instruction. For the consulate in my country medical result is the thing to bring with when going to the interview. I don't know about the embassy in Sydney, you need to check with them again to see what are the forms you have to return before they can schedule interview with you.

Hello everyone,
We filed and got our NOA1 early march. I try not to think about it much or check my case status, not until at least after 3 or 4 months, so I don't go insane. Waiting is the hardest thing right now, I long to be with my baby.

Thanks. I have made numerous posts and help people from my Philippines mostly, as I am more familiar with the K1 VISA procedures, since I have been through it once before. At that time the whole process with and RFE, Embassy interview with VISA in hand was 4 months and 5 days. That was back in 2010. Don't what the difference is now that is causing things to be so slow. I have never been insulted in a post before. The quote "People like you" to me is an insult and some people if you said it to based on ther race, might consider it a racial slur. I am okay. I will just stay away from posts involving the Dominican Republic users.
RickJovi, I agree with you, the quote "People like you should just not comment" sounds offensive not only to you but also to me because I was reading the same post.

People like me, sorry I have a name and you can use it. Sorry as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with my cooment and you are entitled to your opinion. I was not mean. THey have only had over 2 months since thier NOA1. I am sure if my comment would have been inappropriate, it would have been removed by the moderators like I have seen many times in other posts. Take care, but my view doesn't change. We all have a long time to wait for USCIS to do their job. We are at their mercy for processing of petitions.
RickJovi, there is nothing wrong with your comment. I understood your point. Yes, we have a long time to wait and we should be well prepared for what comes next. Thanks to USCIS for their hard works as we know there are many thousands upon thousands of petitions they've been working on.

Hi, I am just picking up on a comment regarding 30 days being the minimum a couple should spend together to be approved as I have been following posts on this website for a few months and this is the first time I have heard this so wondered if someone could clarify.
I was just curious whether this was time spent in the two years prior to sending the I-129F or until the point of aproval of the K1 visa at the embassy? I have dated my partner on and off for 13 years but we only got back together in December 2011 and from then to filing the I-12F last month I have done 3 trips to the US so far but due to work commitments I am not able to take much vacation time so the three trips only amounted to about 25 days total. But I plan to visit every 10 weeks or so for about a week until we are closer to the embassy stage so that number will increase quite a bit. I was wondering if people have had RFE's or problems with this as it didn't specify a minimum amount on the form? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Well, I don't believe in a numbers of visit to get your K 1 visa approved at the embassy stage. Every cases is different. It's not what people say or what you think, but it is what the consular officer think and their decision that matters. As I am very sure that the consular officer can distinguish between fraud and genuine relatioinship, if one get denied there must be something wrong on their case either they messed up with the paperworks or one just get lost at the interview, but still there are more than this that one is not qualify for a K 1 visa.

Hi Matthew,
Thank you very much! I thought I had the timelied filled out, tried to do it earlier today but I guess it didn't work. I'm going to update it. So, we send the I-29F on Oct, 29 2011, got NOA1 on Nov, 03 2011 and NOA2 in Apr, 10 2012. I have already filed for a new passport (these things take time in Brazil!) so hopefully I will have it with me by the end of the month.
Would you mind telling me what is packet 3 and packet 4?
Sorry about the timeline and profile info, still learning how to use this website's tools
Once again, thank you very much!
Packet 3 is the instruction with the forms from the embassy which you need to fill out and then return the checklist form with other forms as instructed. Packet 4 is the appointment letter which the embassy schedule the interview date after you have returned them the forms as instructed on Packet 3.

Hello,
I am new to this website so I'm still a little lost, but I've found lots of useful information here so I already love it. I would like to know if anyone knows what I should do regarding my passport renewal during the k1 visa process.
We received NOA2 a few days ago and we are starting to gather all the documents for the interview. I found out that when I go to the interview at the consulate, my passport needs to be valid for at least 6 more months and mine is good for 5 more right now.
I can renew it, but they will give me a new passport and a new number as well. I will keep the old one but it will be canceled.
What should I do? Will I have any problems having a new passport when I go to the interview with a different #? What about all the other forms we still have to fill out? Should they have my old number or new number? Won't they think it its a problem that the I-29F has the old number and next few forms will have a different one?
Or should I fill out all the remaining paperwork with the same old number and just bring both passports to the interview?
Is this something that could make us have to do it all over again? Please help...we can't bare any more of this horrible wait!
Thanks in advance!
The only forms that ask for the benificiary's passport numbers is the ones that you apply for k 1 visa at the embassy. You just got your NOA2, so you still have more time, why not get a new passport and then fill out the forms with that new passport numbers. Don't make it seems difficult, not a big matter.

I had my interview today and it was really devastating. The application was denied due to no evidence of ongoing relationship. I have showed the CO phone bills, itinerary, letters, emails, chat logs and pictures. She kept on asking me, "Anything else you can show me to prove your ongoing relationship?". She didn't even want to take the chat summary. I just told her that's all I have. She gave me back the original documents and kept the photocopies. I asked if we can appeal, she said "No appeal, other option is you get married." Just like that.
We don't know what else can we do. My fiance was writing an email to the embassy here but I stopped him from doing so. I thought maybe you guys can give us an idea what will be our next step.
THANK you!
I'm sorry to hear that. I heard of people who got denied for K 1 visa just like you, but then they get married and file for a spousal visa and are approved. Maybe the next step you get married to show that you have a bonafide relatioinship and both of you apply for spousal visa just like what the CO told you. Don't give up if you both really love each other and want to spend the whole life together. God bless you!!!

Hello people of Visajourney. I'm close to getting my package ready to send off the consulate. However, one obsticle remains which blocks my path. The DS-156. Now, it was required that this form be completed online so that it can get the specialised barcode with it. I found the form and filled it out, but I'm having issues printing it. Mainly, the complete PDF form of it will not load for me to print. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me, or if it was possible to circumvent this entirely (though I highly doubt it).
Here is the form in question: http://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp
Anyone able to help me? Any advice?
After you fill out, click on the continue button only one time, and then wait for it to load the pages. Sometimes, it can take long minutes depends on your internet speed. And also make sure that your computer has Adobe Reader installed that supports. The complete print out of the forms will include barcode number, so the complete print out is three pages.

Ok,hi everyone!
I am one of the October filers that recently got approved,it happened yesterday actually!
I am reading this right now: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut and i have a question, I am the beneficiary, what's next for me?What do i need to get prepared except DS-230, DS-3032?
I am sorry that i am starting a new topic about this,i am pretty sure there're many people like me who have already asked the same thing.
I see that i could send both DS-3032 and DS-230 forms now,but what about the date i need to fill in?
Thank you so much in advance!!!

Please read through the entire post before replying.
Cambodia has a law restricting foreign men from marrying Cambodian women to those under 50 years of age and earning 2,500 USD a month. I'm sure some of you have heard about this.
My fiancee and I had a strictly ceremonial wedding long before we filed for a k1 visa. In America we understand that an actual legally recognized wedding is different from a ceremony, the same way that I can write a Lawyer's Bar Exam test and give it to my cousin, do a little dance, swear on a Bible, and my cousin still isn't a lawyer.
Our ceremony basically amounted to a couple friends and family, roasted pig and lots of beer. If we went to the Cambodian government claiming to be married they would tell us to jump off a cliff.
I, judging by my posts of many members of this website, appeared to have made a colossal mistake by including a photo of said ceremony in our k1 visa application.
I understand that in Nigeria (or apparently England) having any ceremony at is a legal marriage, but as far as I know, in Cambodia, it's just a party, and I would assume that the US Embassy personnel would be aware of that.
If, instead of filing a k1 we filed for a cr1, we would be required to show proof of that wedding by providing a legal document issued by the Cambodian government.
Does anyone have any actual first hand knowledge or experience with this sort of situation? Almost everyone says that it will lead to a denial at the Embassy, but almost everyone also believes that you can get rid of your belly fat by doing situps. (It's not true by the way, fat burning is not localized).
Thanks
In Cambodia there are two types of ceremony. One is engagement ceremony, the other one is marriage ceremony or wedding. Everyone can tell by looking at the photos if it is engagement or marriage. So DO NOT assume they don't know or can not distinguish between engagement or marriage at the interview.

hi everyone! ive got a question, my fiancee filed our fiancee visa application december 15th of last year and we havent met in person that time, but he went here in the Philippines last january 12, and now we are waiting for the NOA2 to get approved,we're waiting for almost 4mos now. my question is are they going to call my fiancee and send some following documents or change the letter of intent coz it says there that he will going to meet me on january and we already met,and will it cause any delay? i hope you guys can help me with my question and give me some ideas how it works till the end of the fiancee visa process...thanks so much
Filing petition before having met in person will get a denial, unless you have a strong, solid proof of extreme hardship, but still least chance of winning the case. In your case your fiance stated that he would come to meet you in the Philippines in January, so this is clear that extreme hardship does not apply to him.

If I'm not wrong, here is what it should be said from where I got this info:
Tourist visa or visitor visa is for temporary visits only. It is not intended for use by people who intend to immigrate to the United States. It is okay if you plan to get married on a tourist visa in the U.S. and then go home to your own country. But to enter the U.S. on the visa with the intent to get married and stay there permanently by getting a green card is committing visa fraud. So when you apply for and enter on a tourist visa, make sure it's for vacation only.
-
You can not get married with a visitor visa in the U.S. You're gonna put yourself in trouble if you do that. It means you commit a visa fraud.
-
If they kept his passport it's a good sign. It's possible they will issue him a visa, other than this I don't know.
-
As far as I know from people's experiences, 3-6 months from NOA1 to NOA2.

Are you trying to fill out DS-156 Electronic Visa Application Form?

Hello, everyone,
I just know today when I go through the form G-325 (Biographic information) and found there's one box I forgot to fill out my name in my native alphabet, just right below the signature spot of the benificiary. Everything was completely filled out, except missing filling out this space. Can it be a problem? has anyone ever forgotten to write one least of the form and had a problem with it?

I have to make this clear. On the packet 3 instruction for my country, it said I have to return these materials before the embassy can schedule the interview.
1. Signed checklist
2. DS-230 Part I
3. I-134: Affudavit of Support
My question about form I-134 Affudavit of Support is: Will the embassy accept the copy of this form? I want to keep the original for the day of interview, since it is very important form.
Please I need your inputs.
Thanks

Hello, everyone,
About Form I-134 Affidavit of support. Shall I send the orginal one to the embassy or only send the copied and keep the original for the day of the interview? On the packet 3 instruction it doesn't state original nor copy of the form, it only say Form I-134 Affidavit of support.
Thanks.
affidavit of support that I signed.

She will be denied for lack of enough income due to the requirement. Find out first if the consulate in Manila accept co-sponsor, and that you need a co-sponsor.
