  1. Uber +1

This is just my opinion. First decide if your boyfriend is worth fighting for. Second, you need to understand that you can't please everyone even your family, third, you have to stand UP for yourself. Express what makes you happy. and Fourth, you have to realize that it may come down to NOT TALKING to your mom or family. You need to be aware of that and prepare for consequences.. like maybe moving out.....SHOULD you choose to pursue your boyfriend. Take your time in knowing each other. in one year he will graduate or get a full time job.. Start fighting for what you want. The visa journey will TEST you to the FULLEST.. you need to have a peaceful mind and other things sorted out first. Slowly build the relationship... If its meant to be your LOVE will endure everything and overocme every obstacle.. Good luck...!!

  3. Can anyone tell me aboyit how long the between Nvc sent and hearing from the consulate ??

I reveived NVC hard copy letter in mail on 08/02/2012. it reads as follows:

    Dear Petitioneer:

The sate Department's National Visa Center has recenlty received an approved i129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropirate visa iisuing post where your visa interview will take place. The US Embassy/consulate general will contact your fiance when ready to begin processing his/her application. our recoreds show that you files the 129f petition for:

    Name of Fiance: XXXXXXXXXXXXX

    INS Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Case Number:CDJXXXXXXXXXX

The case will be procesead at:

    Post: Ciudad Juarez

    Us consulate General

    Paseo de la victoria #3650

    Frac part sencu, cd juarez

    Chihuahuaa.mexico 32543

Your fiance will soon recive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply for the k1 visa at the at post and what documents will be required. in meantime you should visit the department of state's website www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigratns.types\types_4323.html to determine if the processing post has any information of witch you should immediately aware.

    sincerely,

    bureao of consular affairs

  4. I'm thinking of becoming a k1 lawyer, exclusively handling straight forward i-129f petitions/AOS. They make a bunch load of money on sending the papers you filled out and documents/evidence you collected for them.

With lawyer, the petition(i-129f, the first stage only) and lawyer fees will cost you.. 3740 dollars or something similar.

Without the lawyer, the petition(i-129f, the first stage only) will cost you.. 340 dollars (plus shipping it through mail). PLus you'll get the notifications directly from USCIS.

When your case is straight forward, save that lawyer fee, put it into an account and use it for the later fees you're going to run into. Medical, a neat honeymoon, AOS, an extra car after arriving in the US, or anything unforseen.

However, if you're more comfortable with having a lawyer, then go for it. From my own personal aspect, I'd be freaking out if somebody else was in control of my immigration journey. If anybody makes a mistake, I'd rather I'd be me not checking a box instead of an attourney.

if your fiance has no criminal record and you dont have any criminal record. do it yourself. check out the guides here on visajourney. i filed my k1 myself with no lawyer. the visajourney team is here to help. were a great family.

  5. I had my interview recent and you are allowed to go in as long as your the petitioner.........my fiance came but unfortunately didnt get to come in because we had cell phones on us so he decided to keep it.....but i asked and he is allowed to come in and when i say in straight inside where they conduct the interview

    what about ciudad juarez?

  6. Hm, that sounds great, but how does it work? We have our NVC case number, but when I entered it, it said "invalid application ID or case number". Also, our case number is shorter than the given example on the site - "2012118 345 0001" - ours doesn't have the last two groups of numbers, just the first part. I would love to see some kind of case status. The waiting for NOA2 was tough, but at least you could somehow check your status. Now we don't know where our documents are and when the next step is happening. Sometimes this process is driving me nuts :bonk:

    checked mine it says this.

    Case Creation Date:n/aResponse Date:27-Jul-2012

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you already have a interview appointment scheduled, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. PRESENT YOUR APPOINTMENT LETTER AT YOUR INTERVIEW, IF YOU DO NOT, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

    case creation date is n/a

  7. i recevied noa2 on july 17. i called nvc on july 27. and asked for my nvc casenumber, my beneficary id and invoice number.... make sure you ask for all 3 and ask if your applicaiton has gone to the consulate.

dont be afraid to call. your the boss... lawyers are just your confidence booster to make sure you feel comfortable with this process. i did everything on my own with no lawyer and the visajourney team.. visajourney is way better than a lawyer.. in the end you end up doing all the work.... the lawyer just collects the money.. good luck.. call today.. dont wait any longer.... you want to know where your case is at.. you have waited this long.. the nvc guys are super nice.... make sure you have your beneficiary birthdate and petitoner birthdate. also receipt number 1.

  8. If you see the newer cases have the most info and mine says the same as yours and I called DOS Friday and they told me our case was fine they just havent finished it yet...... i think due to the volume they simply did as much as they could to get our case online that was it.

Ours doesn't even have a case creation date such as at interview or a few days later so I agree with you.. and with a 221g and background checks we were refused at that time but per the letter we had at interview we had mandatory AP

i think this is much better than calling DOS and getting someone rude and disrespectful of our waiting for the visa over a year after interview!!!

this will work only. when you know your nvc case number. if your consulate is juarez mexico. it will start with cdj... i just checked mine and it says its ready. im ready to schedule my interview.
