Congratulations we emailed our DS-230 from the Benificiary's on file email address and it was accepted without any need to mail it in or sign it

i believe you mean ds3032 not ds230 right?

The updated DS-230 Part 1 with question 30 filled out correctly was delivered to the NVC on Tuesday 26th of June and it was approved on Thursday 5th of July.

Just over a week due to the 4th of July celebrations.

Luckily we had made a duplicate packet for the DS-230 which had my original signature on it.

My wife updated the dates for question 30 and was able to FedEx it to the NVC the next day.

I would strongly advise making duplicate packets for everything and these can be taken with you to interview so you have everything available.

so how many days did it take to complete your case after nvc received your complete ds230?

We had all our packets ready to send once the AOS and IV bills had been paid so a little bit of prep work before does save time.

From the date NVC it's taken 1 week for processing of each packet. I had to re-send my DS-230 because of an error in question 30 so i would advise re-checking all questions.

James' shortcuts have been very useful in this process and helped tremendously.

hi!! we have an error on Q30 too did you resend your ds230 with original signature? coz we sent a scanned copy coz the nvc operator said it's ok:( and how long did it take nvc to complete your case after your ds230 was received by nvc?

it could be from the petitioner or beneficiary,either way works as long as it gets to nvc..

I'm not sure if I forget to mail NVC a copy of previous passport! Aghhhhhh!

Will I get an RFE? or it should be fine just to bring the previous passport on the interview date?

what's the old passport for? i think if you have the current passport that should be fine as it is what is needed.

I suggest waiting and seeing what NVC says in response. They may accept it; it depends on the reviewing officer.

thanks Saylin...nvc operators are so unreliable:( my husband called and was told it should be with original signature:( so i called back again and was told the same thing:(

so i asked if i can mail another one so it won't take another 10 days to wait for a checklist asking the same docs and then another 10 days to review again.so 20 days in total.. the operator just said it's up to me:( why is that so? i said i need a clear answer, a yes or no.. i asked if i'll send with the same cover sheet would it be ok, he said it's ok..so i confirmed if i send the right docs while there's already another one on its way would nvc accept it, answer is again ' it's up to you maam...was furious with the operators:( he's name is john with a terrible accent:(

i guess i'll just have to wait then... could take the whole july until case complete...

Unfortunately, a signature is needed on that page, so a scanned copy wouldn't work as NVC only accepts original signatures. You'll need to print out that page of the DS-230 with the corrected information, sign it, and then mail it out.

my husband mailed it already:( it'll get to nvc on thursday.. can i mail another signed copy ? which could be in nvc prolly monday the soonest..

I am in your shoes.. they said we did not check the Military experience. Can you send the DS 230 without the cover letter?

did you receive the email checklist from nvc yet?

we used the barcoded cover sheet from the checklist email, here's what we sent:

1. barcoded cover sheet

2. nvc letter from the email attachment

3. corrected ds230

4. letter explaining nvc they had my married name incorrect on the nvc letter they sent

5. passport biographic page --just to show correct married name i have

Eeeee! Just off the phone with NVC and our case was completed yesterday! Seems they finally got around to reviewing our response to their checklist!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Saylin and everyone else on here who got us through this process! I seriously would have gotten a few extra grey hairs if it wasn't for the helpful folks on here. Cheers!

congrats looks like nvc takes 10 days to complete the case...additional 10 days for me then..hoping for less though

since we got a checklist on ds230 Q30 ( just missing the address since age 16,i started with 17), hubby called nvc and talked to Nigel. he was told that i can scan my completed and signed ds230, send it to him so he can then send it overnight via usps.

i just wana ask if this is ok? a scanned ds230? .. thanks

checklist here..booo.. just the ds230 form..lacked the address since 16,i had since 17...silly...but anyhow all docs are ok..i just need to send the ds230 part1...

NOA2 text this morning!!!!! Finally! 206 LONG days! Checked my case status online yesterday, initial review, but today is post-decision...they say they mailed it on Monday. So they don't necessarily update right away. So happy this part is over!!!! On to the NVC stage!!!

i attended the seminar in Cebu.. walked in and came early coz they have limited slots each day..

yeah, DFA requires you to attend the CFO seminar ( all those who are married to foreigners) .. i attended the seminar and was able to change my passport in my married name. your visa will be in the name that appears in your passport.. there shouldn't be a problem though...

Call them tomorrow morning. My AOS package was also delivered on 6/18 so you should have yours reviewed and accepted as well. Good Luck!

i talked to a couple nvc operators..their responses: 1) your aos could be in the building but not yet being reviewed, 2) your aos maybe reviewed now but i'm not telling you coz it takes 20 business days to process and we'll just email you for updates if there's a checklist or if case is complete 3) your file is not yet updated with anything about your aos give us 20 business days...so i guess they're certain with their response only if aos is accepted or if there's a checklist.. i'm calling monday morning again..

DFA has recently added the CFO seminar certificate as one of the requirements for those married to foreigners in applying for passport.

Ditto. My AOS package delivery was 1st tried on Saturday and they were closed but it got delivered on Monday.

Mine too.. Aos Was supposed to be delivered friday and usps missed it..attempted to deliver it saturday..why do they attempt to deliver it on a saturday when they know it's close:p duh!!!

it should be completed any time soon, if not this friday it will most likely be next week:) normally the operators would say 20 business days..so hang in there:)
