  1. I have a question I'm not sure if it's been asked or answered before as I've been looking around the forums to no avail.

On the nvc wiki it says you have to include a barcoded cover sheet but I'm confused which cover sheet needs to be included in the packages.

In the payment portal there's 1 with the AOS and 1 with the IV bills.

And then there's one that came in the welcome letter.

I'm assuming the AOS sheet goes on top of the AOS package and the IV atop the IV package.

Does the one with the welcome letter need to be added to both packages as well?

Which one should be put before the other when assembling the package?

  2. @ruby

I'm confused aswell because I've been hearing they aren't letting any more Yemeni ppl into Djibouti. Wish there were more ppl here that just got scheduled into Djibouti to give us more info so we can see if this is true or not.

And are you sure your sisters case is completed? It's looking like 6 weeks is the timeframe from sending the packets to officially getting a case complete.

  3. As I've stated before, I'm helping a family member through the NVC stage and I just noticed that in the wifes (beneficiary) BC her middle name is spelled differently than in her passport. It's very minor, 2 vowels were switched around and a J added instead of a G, but spelled differently nonetheless.

The papers are already in the NVC and we just paid the AOS and IV bills.

What are we suppose to do now, if anything?

  4. I would personally send all the packets at one time. The joint sponsors do not have fill the paperwork out 3 times lol. Just send a copy of the one you sent to USCIS. Make 3 copies and write the case number on the left corner of each document. Everything you need is just copies of the things you sent to USCIS except for the PR's.[/quote

Yes but I thought we need original completed i864 from the joint sponsor for the AOS package. Plus the information changes slightly for each intending immigrant like names and birthdays would copying the i864 pose problems?

  5. That's not true.

USCIS has been granting many expedites for people in Yemen. I know 4 people personally.

You can call them and tell them you want to request an expedite on humanitarian grounds. They will ask for proof. I know people sent in news articles saying water and food was scarce and the electricity has been out for more than a year. Also news articles telling of civilians being bombed almost daily.

You have a really good shot at it being accepted.

  6. I'm helping a family member file for their wife and 2 children.

I assumed once the case gets to NVC they will combine the petitions and they would all get 1 case number.

However today we got the case numbers and there's 3 of them. So my question is, do we have to pay 1 AOS fee or 3?

Also, on the portal I see we can already pay the AOS fee but I don't see the DS-261 anywhere. Should we wait for the form to become available before we pay?

  7. USCIS gave us a RFE for the children having late registered birth certificates. In the beneficiary's country, it is not common at all to get a birth certificate so that is the reason it is late registered.

They said we can submit secondary evidence like school records, hospital records, something old that shows the children are really the children of the petitioner. Their school records don't have parents names on them so the problem is, we don't have any of the secondary evidence they are asking for either.

It says if we can't provide the secondary evidence to prove "evidence of non existence."

What is that? Where do we get that to fill it out?
