Considering Tink88's husband got an interview a week after case complete the only logical explanation why your sister hasn't received an interview is because Djibouti may really have stopped scheduling interviews for Yemenis. Have you tried asking NVC if this is the case?
-
@ruby
I'm confused aswell because I've been hearing they aren't letting any more Yemeni ppl into Djibouti. Wish there were more ppl here that just got scheduled into Djibouti to give us more info so we can see if this is true or not.
And are you sure your sisters case is completed? It's looking like 6 weeks is the timeframe from sending the packets to officially getting a case complete.
-
Anyone know anything more about Djibouti not accepting any more Yemeni applicants?

As I've stated before, I'm helping a family member through the NVC stage and I just noticed that in the wifes (beneficiary) BC her middle name is spelled differently than in her passport. It's very minor, 2 vowels were switched around and a J added instead of a G, but spelled differently nonetheless.
The papers are already in the NVC and we just paid the AOS and IV bills.
What are we suppose to do now, if anything?

I think I understand now after looking over the i864 what you meant. Thanks for your help.

I would personally send all the packets at one time. The joint sponsors do not have fill the paperwork out 3 times lol. Just send a copy of the one you sent to USCIS. Make 3 copies and write the case number on the left corner of each document. Everything you need is just copies of the things you sent to USCIS except for the PR's.[/quote
Yes but I thought we need original completed i864 from the joint sponsor for the AOS package. Plus the information changes slightly for each intending immigrant like names and birthdays would copying the i864 pose problems?
-
That's not true.
USCIS has been granting many expedites for people in Yemen. I know 4 people personally.
You can call them and tell them you want to request an expedite on humanitarian grounds. They will ask for proof. I know people sent in news articles saying water and food was scarce and the electricity has been out for more than a year. Also news articles telling of civilians being bombed almost daily.
You have a really good shot at it being accepted.

How long did you all wait from case complete to interview?
-
Another question...
Now when we send in the AOS package...
Do they each need their own package/envelope?
Do they each need an AOS from a joint sponsor even if it's the same joint sponsor for all 3?
If yes, would the joint sponsor need to fill out the i-864 3 times?
I'm a little confused on how this works so any insight would be appreciated.

I don't know if they'll have to pay one fee or 3. I would call to find out about that. But, If you see that you can pay the fee's do so. An once you do pay the fee call NVC and let them know that you have. They will put it in they're system stating that you've already paid the fee's. An you'll be able to do the DS-261 quicker.
Will do, thank you for the tip!

I'm helping a family member file for their wife and 2 children.
I assumed once the case gets to NVC they will combine the petitions and they would all get 1 case number.
However today we got the case numbers and there's 3 of them. So my question is, do we have to pay 1 AOS fee or 3?
Also, on the portal I see we can already pay the AOS fee but I don't see the DS-261 anywhere. Should we wait for the form to become available before we pay?

Where did you get this information from? ^^

This is a good thread with useful information. So many Yemeni ppl looking for information from those who've been through the process.

Yemen.
To prove the petitioner visited the beneficiary.

Oh, it is actually.

Thanks for the link! -
apply for a lost passport
send request for entry stamps as they are all recorded on computer
Where does one apply for lost passport and request the stamps?
-
Is there anyway to do this if the US citizen lost their old passport?
-
That would be great but it says that the parent and child have to to get tested in the same clinic/office. That's impossible right now as the father just returned to the states and money/civil war prevent him for easily returning.
-
USCIS gave us a RFE for the children having late registered birth certificates. In the beneficiary's country, it is not common at all to get a birth certificate so that is the reason it is late registered.
They said we can submit secondary evidence like school records, hospital records, something old that shows the children are really the children of the petitioner. Their school records don't have parents names on them so the problem is, we don't have any of the secondary evidence they are asking for either.
It says if we can't provide the secondary evidence to prove "evidence of non existence."
What is that? Where do we get that to fill it out?
-
When did you all contact NVC about transferring your case to another country? After you provided all the documents to NVC or before?
-
When filing for a family of 3 does each family member get their own case number from NVC? Or is it all one case and thus one number, one AOS etc.?
-
Mom and son's expedite just got approved now and they said we should get a decision within 45 days.
What should we do about the daughter? ? Anyone ever been in a similar situation?.
-
I really don't understand why either. The dates of birth is correct on the NOA1.
The only thing I can think is the requests landed in the hands of 2 different officers, one obviously more sympathetic than the other. We're just gonna wait and see if the mom's and son's gets approved and then call USCIS back.
-
I emailed the proof to the email that accepts the proofs. They replied back now, on a Saturday, saying the same thing, the case doesn't meet requirements.
Yet they haven't replied back approving or denying the wife and son's request for expediting although it's been a week.

I have a question I'm not sure if it's been asked or answered before as I've been looking around the forums to no avail.
On the nvc wiki it says you have to include a barcoded cover sheet but I'm confused which cover sheet needs to be included in the packages.
In the payment portal there's 1 with the AOS and 1 with the IV bills.
And then there's one that came in the welcome letter.
I'm assuming the AOS sheet goes on top of the AOS package and the IV atop the IV package.
Does the one with the welcome letter need to be added to both packages as well?
Which one should be put before the other when assembling the package?
