  1. These are not rumors and not exaggerations.

The US embassy in  Djibouti called at least 200-300 people who have been under administrative processing, some since June, and denied all of their visas yesterday.

The criteria for the waiver is extremely difficult for anyone to qualify and there's absolutely nothing us ordinary citizens can do to change their minds.

Someone who had an interview yesterday told me that they are not taking anyone's visa anymore and that they tell them if approved they  will contact them soon to receive a waiver. I was told people who already had their interviews in the last couple of months were either called or emailed to receive a waiver from the embassy. I haven't received anything but if anyone does let us know.

What month was the interview of those who were granted a waiver?

my mom's case is still at USCIS but I spoke with a lawyer today. my impression -- it seems like probably we need a lawyer to assist with preparing the waiver petition if we want to have a chance at getting approved. since the order just went into effect, i don't think anyone really knows for certain yet.

There is no waver process. The councilor tells you if you're eligible for a waiver and grants a visa.

    It takes a long time.

  4. They called about 100 people to the embassy today. They refused all of them for the time being. They told them the waiver process is extremely lengthy and they gave everyone their passports back and told them that they should leave back to Yemen or to another country.

The counselor said there's nothing in his hands and he can't help anyone.

They're not granting visas guys, it's as bad as it sounds unfortunately.

Urgent Notice: Case scheduling for all applicants remains unaffected by the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision. However, a medical exam is STILL required prior to a National Visa Center appointment being honored or a missed appointment or legacy Sana'a case being rescheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti. Please do not write to ConsularDjibouti@state.gov or deposit a letter in the Consular dropbox requesting your case be rescheduled. This only slows case processing for all, including for you and your family.

This is the automated response I got when I emailed the embassy.

This says nothing about the issuance of visas though. Again if anyone hears anyone get a visa, please for the love of god, let us know.

  6. My family member I told you guys about.

    Her and her 2 kids.

Well yesterday at around 4 a.m. the daughter's status was updated and then turned to Issued at 6 a.m. (USA time)

And then the brother's was updated but no issue yet.

They picked up the girl's visa alhamdullah no issues at all there even though it says to wait 24 hours after Issued to pick up visa, it was ready some 2 hours after it turned to Issued. Now we're waiting for the mom and son's visas.

It seems they work on one at a time? IDK.

they kept saying drop all your documents in the embassy mailbox, but we didn't want to do, so they scheduled interview date, and took all his document and he was missing one page from sponser's tax 2016 tax return, so the lady at the window took everything and asked to send email once you have the missing page.. and that was sept. and nothing yet...

Maybe they're not gonna schedule another interview. Maybe that was his interview and they just want the missing paper to finish off this case.

What does his status say on the ceac website?

I have family member whos been waiting for two months now to reschedule he's interview cause hewas missing document first time.  is there's anyone who is similair situation? does it take this long to reschedule follow up interview or missed interview ? Thanks

Did he attend his interview and then they told him to send in a missing paper?

Or did he not even get a chance to interview?

  9. My family member went to her interview today. A I suspected,  they asked plenty of questions about the co sponsor. A few about their ages. Why they waited till the children were older to apply and not much else. She said the councilor was extremely nice but the Djiboutian workers are terrible. Anyone still waiting for an interview make sure you know your co sponsor.

She and her 2 kids were approved. Just a waiting game to see how long till they print their visas.

I’m in Djibouti right now.I had visa interview for my wife Monday. The visa got approved but it’s under administrative processing.A lot of people durning our visit to the us embassy names didn’t get called even tho they had appointment letters.Anyone have any information for the people that went through this?

They probably didn't get their medicals done soon enough and the embassy didn't get it in time for the interview. Happen to my family member who has an appointment on October 3.  She couldn't find a flight out of Yemen until end of September and did her medical on October 1. She went to her interview appibtkent but they didn't call her name and they told her they will reschedule. She's still waiting for another interview appointment till this day. =\
