I don't understand how people can be so impatient at times. We know that it can be quick as it can be late, so why not give it to nearly 6 months and see what happens. It is more likely that after 5 months or nearly 6 months it will be worked on and this happens in a lot of cases. They are under much pressure from all applications and cases being sent everyday. I hope people will consider this fact, instead of driving themself crazy and frustrated over this process.

OMG I can't believe you want her to be a better wife, he should be a better husband. You don't go tellilng your family lies about your wife, you don't go getting your sister involved to help you attack your wife (verbaly).
She has been a stay at home mom for 5 yrs taking care of their child, something he wanted her to do, durring that time he is spreading lies about her, being verbally abusive and has started physically abusing her. No way on earth is she at fault, with an abusive man nothing will make him happy, she could be making 100k a year and he would still not be happy.The way he is getting his familly involved while he belittles/makes up ####### is abuse. This has been building up for 5 years, he has her feeling lost and confused, he has her daughter telling her he is mad at her how he doesn't love her. No parent should ever put their child in that position, that is child abuse.
Abuse is a deal breaker seek help for your daughter and yourself.

However, I'm trying to grasp just how VSC and CSC process these petitions.
Say, you mail a petition (hypothetically )
CSC or VSC get it and put it in "a box" ne'er to be seen again for 5 months. (or more)
How is it.....say.....that a 12/1 petition gets processed around the same time as a 1/31 petition. Now, I understand that different folks have different boxes and so I understand the idea of overlapping...some.... and I understand the idea of expedited. I just think some of the overlapping is a bit wide of a gap no?
The case at the top was not expedited, at least, I don't think so because she sounds so surprised.
Just how does a petition from 5/9 end up in the January pile?

Have you considered making it an engagement party? Or I agree with others, just a huge celebration.
I'd say call vendors and tell them your story, I'm sure they've heard many before, but it's worth a try. You do have a unique situation. I mean, the worst they can say is no, they won't change the date, then you create plan B.
You could use footage from the "party" and footage from the actual wedding when it DOES take place and create a wonderful video to share with those who attended the larger party.
Making this blip on the radar a part of your journey will make it all the more special. You don't need a perfect "normal wedding", why be like everyone else?
My vote is be creative and shake it up and see what you can come up with when you think outside the box, around the box, or on top of the box.
