Yes, that is the "in line for interview" status.

Keep in mind that there can often be a huge gap between the "your interview has been scheduled" message and you actually getting the interview notice online or in the mail. Sometimes months. (Also, sometimes hours or days.)

I honestly have no clue, but that sounds like a reasonable assumption. 

In my case, I get stopped at the US border fairly often because somebody with my name AND my birthday has a federal warrant... so that could very well be why mine is taking so long. You'd think the fact that I have Global Entry would mean I've already been vetted (since there were background checks and an interview for that, too) but who knows. 

Crazy how many people get their in-line notification the same day as their biometrics!

Which field office are you talking about? Mine says January 9, 2017.

When was your original biometrics date (I know you did a walk-in)?  

 

I heard that your status should change to "In Line for Interview" 1-5 days after your original biometrics date.  

 

Some people get lucky and their status change right after their walk-in biometrics appointments.  

 

It may depend on how fast your field office processes your biometrics data.  

Looks like my office is bloody lazy! Haha

Definitely. More and more people will be doing it going forward I’m sure. No good reason not to anymore. We’re one of the first groups of people that actually had more online than paper! It will catch on!

Exactly. In reality it just expedites the process itself. Time between filing and NOA is shorter (cutting out USPS...), time between NOA and biometrics is shorter because... well... theres no paper to push around. Once you complete biometrics its pretty much the same for everyone. 

It's not like they have two separate pools of applicants and process one ahead of the other or anything. Online is just faster for some phases because its more efficient. 

And then there's me, using the San Diego field office which is probably one of the busiest in the country. Looking at timelines, it looks like 4-5 months is about standard time between biometrics and interview at this field office, so I fully expect my application to be a long process.

I doubt it, but you may be able to make an infopass appointment. You can also enable text/email alerts on the case tracking site, though those aren't anywhere near as detailed.

Generally it seems to, which isn’t surprising. There are always exceptions.

I added you, but its missing your GC date, date cashed, and field office. 

For address, if you're self-employed, then just put your address since IIRC uber drivers are considered independent contractors.

For the purposes of tracking, if you have "interview scheduled" but dont have a date, you're "in line", because that's still a step beyond where the "biometrics complete" people are at.

And yeah, generally the site you track with your case # is pretty worthless.

Upload each document individually. No need for a cover page (though some will say it doesn’t hurt so why not).

I do have tracking number but it's stuck at "In Transit, Delayed". It hasn't been scanned since Aug 28. It's in Phoenix AZ but not delivered yet. . Yeah, definitely do online filing. Much quicker and easier and you don't have to be concerned about it getting lost  Among all the other benefits!
