Has anyone that put in a service request had success is speeding the process? It seems that a stock answer at least from VSC may be that the case is being processed and there will be an update in sixty days.
How about the follow up 21 day email to the service center after an unsuccessful service request?
I'd like to know it is helpful or detrimental to follow up in this manner.

I just wanted to add that when I still worked for the Member of Parliament in Canada we worked with quite a number of foreign women from a variety of countries who obtained legitimate work visas to perform as adult entertainers or exotic dancers - ie. in strip clubs. ( Most of our work was in regards to visa renewals). Canada has the same requirements before a non-Canadian is hired and there was never any problem for these clubs to prove that there were not enough Canadians willing to work as exotic dancers. These girls were not sex workers, they were dancers, and many of them chose this route as a way to make money to afford an education, or to break out of the poverty back home. It was a means to 'better' their circumstances in life. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that there are not enough American women willing to do the work as well. There seems to be a fairly large demand for this type of entertainer and while many might find it unsavoury, sometimes it is hard to appreciate the need that will drive a woman to take this sort of job as the means to an end unless you have found yourself in similar survival or poverty type situations.
Dancing naked in a strip club is designed to appeal to prurient interest may be called exotic or art but it's about titilation and sexual stimulation. I hope our government has better things to do that to deal with visa applications for "exotic" dancers.
Women take this because it is high pay for not much work. I'm not meaning to seem harsh but in my opinion little good comes to society from this type of entertainment and the service centers have enough to deal with as it is.

........ WOW you are pretty rude. No one here can give you the "for sure" information.
It seems pretty rude but at least he is getting a discussion going.

I have three visit in cameroon. and the embassy did two investigative visit to my fiance house. they told my fiance that they have no proof that the relationship is real.
i have three visit to cameroon before filing the k1
That seems a bit odd and leaves to much discretion to the person processing the petition. Have you any idea if there was something that raised a red flag to them that the marriage may just be a pretext for immigration purposes. I am new to this so I hope others will chime in and enlighten. If you marry there, how can they claim the relationsip is not real?
-
While you're free to speculate, do know there are other USCIS service centers to handle the various sorts of visa petitions. Also, if your petition is already submitted, this forthcoming action -- it has yet to actually be instituted, they have 60 days to do so -- will likely not impact the timeframe.
I definitely understand the desire to have your loved one here as quickly as possible, but to go through this process, you need to have a heavy dose of patience and keep yourself busy.
Yes that is so true. However, it sort of feels like life is on hold until this is over and we are together.

Obama is saying the feds are not targeting people who through no fault of their own ended up in the us and have graduated, have no record or served in the military. It's just good sense not to target these people. He said nothing about making a policy change giving them citizenship through his decision.
But they are allowed to apply for a work permit and they may be taking up a lot of the processors time.
Whetehr it is not fault to them or not allowing the sons and daugthers of illegal immigrants rewards lawbreaking does it not? What parent would not want a better life for their children?
Its all about election year politics really.
-
the reason for this is lack of boni fide relationship
How did they arive at that conclusion? Did you meet in person and have phone and chat records?
-
Talk about being upset if that happend. I may be temped to sell everything and just move there. Another reason we need a new admin in dc.
RIght, put a whole group of people who are outside the law before those who are following legal process!

I was just about to say the same thing

I am not sure what good a service request does. It seems that the respons to any service request is that the case is being processed and expect a response in 60 days.
Could a service request just be another way to provide excuses to delay?

That is one of the points I brought up initially. She should make sure her employer here is the US is legit lest she falls victim to the many human trfficking schemes about which we hear about so often.
Can an independent contractor obtain an employment visa? As I understand it most strippers work as independent contractors and their pay is derived mosty from tips.
HOw does the employment visa work? Does an employer have to sponser the applicant? Wouldn't any strip club classifies their strippers as independent contractos be eliminated as potential sponsers?
In that regard, do the examiners have any discretion to deny the stripper applicant that otherwise qualifies for an employment visa?

Yea i know, i was real positive at the beginning now i doubt..they say we are processing jan 15? Well that is past the 5 month mark a week ago, so they really need to give an answer or change the date on the uscis website to 5.5 months!
FYI - Dec 7th filer, got RFE before 5 months, notice of receipt April 25th, Service Request reply said sixty days(seems like standard language)still waiting, no indication file touched since April 25th.
Send 21 day follow up email to VSC, no reply on that yet.
sounds like we are all in the same boat

I was told last week when I called to wait until the end of the month if I didn't get a reply by the end of this month to call back to file a service request...maybe he just told me that to get me off the phone :-/ ...this is so stressful and my marriage is suffering just after 6months my husband and I have a bunch of heated arguments that I know for a fact we wouldn't be having if we were next to each other so this distance between us is just getting to be too much and stupid USCIS is taking their sweet time they probably get to go home to their families and significant other at the end of their workday while we have to suffer thru this painful process...sorry everyone I'm in vent mode right now
take that
vsc, this is so frustrating. But lets not take it out on our dear beloveds.

yes, you should try to get some help. don't waste time.
What kind of help?

These are government workers who pile of work never decreases no matter how hard they work, it is painfully slow for VJ members waiting for results. Share our frustrations here, support each other and maybe have a cool drink or two. As I said before this process is painfully slow and the honest participants who try to do it correctly are greatly affected by the ones who try to beat the system or involved in fraud. They appear to handle them as they come in the system, their is no triage involved to find the no brainers and move them along. All we have is the system to check on the progress, and if delayed substantially our congressman, or the USCIS Ombudsman. Actions by public officials who move illegals ahead of honest filers also delays our progress, staff who would have worked on your file now have been ordred to work on something else, thus a delay in the legal process which we all strive to follow.
Good advice.
I am a Dec 7, 2011 filer with a RFE response date of April 25th, 2012. I have put in a service request and got mumbo jumbo response and have send a follow up email. Monday will be sixty days since the RFE reply and according to the response, I should have a written update or decision by then but it does not look like it is going to happen. There is another email address if I get no reply to the email in 21 days.
Has anyone had sucess using the email address. If no word Monday, I will put in another service request. Should I try the Ombudsman? How does this work? And Congessman? Any suggestions welcome. And yes, I am learning patience, thank you God.

True, and she can adjust status on her own. On line 2b on the Form 751, she just checks the block that says she entered the marriage in good faith, and it was terminated by divorce or annulment, (should she choose to get a divorce). Most likely scenario is that she stays and works under the table (no taxes). In that case the sponsor is still financially liable.
As far as the US government is concerned, the sponsor brought her here, and is responsible for her until she leaves the country, (and they will not try hard to find her and deport her if it comes to that).
A quick read of the sponser liabilty infor leads me to believe the duty of suport is not self-executing and the immigarnt would have to sue the sponser for support. Hence, is she is working under the table it would make it is unlikely she would sue for support.

i wish you dudes would stop saying "MOVE ON", its tiresome. theres nowhere to move on to. i had all my eggs in her basket. theres noone left. there all fn dead.
Yea, its easy to conclude with the tired trite "move on." Sometimes it is a matter of laying flat on your back, unable to move and crying out to God and then he will pick you up and carry you for a bit.
I hate to hear stories like this one. If I wanted that kind of treatment, I would just stick with American women like my x wife. One think you can be thankful that its a short term marriage and no kids.
People can be so nasty and deceptive, it's a shame.

We most certainly will pray for you right this minute! Heavenly Father, bless my friends and help their process and replies speed up. We know you are in control of every situation and we are on your time. Bless the hands that touch our applications and information. Let these processors be quick and help them find all the information they need when they need it in order to process it fast. We know you are able to do all things and we give you the praise, honor and glory for all you are doing in our lives. In Jesus Name! Amen!

Thank you and thank you Jesus for hearing that prayer.

congrats!
Kindly, a little prayer for Eva and I, it's almost 60 days since RFE reply and no word. We know our heavenly Father is in charge, love him, and thank him as we learn to be patient.
Congratulations and God Bless your marriage.

Dec 7th 11 filer here and got a dreaded RFE. It seems that VSC is slow.
-
That is what makes me so mad to be honest. I don't understand how u can expedite someones case and then delay it ... If we don't hear from them by Tuesday we will contact Senate.
I keep thinking any day now but its almost sixty days post RFE and nothing.
-
More like 5?
Anyway ... It's been 4 weeks since they received our reply and I hope I don't have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks :[
Quite a delay after an expidite. What was the basis of your expidite? Maybe the Vermont Service Center is usig the RFE to delay without extending the normal processing time. I have a big delay there also.
-
Someone said that an big age gap may slow down processing of K1 by USCIS. I am 53 days out from reciept of RFE and still no word. Most seem to get approved quickly after RFE submission.
Than God, my charming fiance is 26 and old enough to decide for herself but there is a age gap of over 20 years and I wonder if
that may be one reason for the delay.
-
/The good news is your RFE means someone IS processing your request. The great news is now that you have answered the RFE they are looking at your documents to finish the process. Normally you hear in about 7 to 10 days after answering an RFE. But it can take longer depending on the documents provided from the RFE request.
I hope all goes well for you on the process.
Don't think is normal to get Noaa2 a few days from receipt of FRF. I read these post and am very disapoited. RFE reply on April 25th and still nothing. I put in a service request and a follow up email, still nothingl

Here are some links to pass the time preparing for later:
Check on your embassy case number:
For the NVC:
Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times
K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:
1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)
Press 1 for English
Press 5 for an operator
NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:
Website: www.immigrantvisas.state.gov
E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov (I found NVC to be very quick responding to emails)
REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:
You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:
* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).
* Petitioner's name and date of birth.
( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )
* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.
* If you are an attorney, include your name and the name and address of your law office.
After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL # (don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )
(open all of these links then save them to your bookmarks so you have them for easy access)
Embassy:
http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_003.pdf (visa fee is wrong in the letter, not sure when they will update that in this letter)
The DS-156 can be difficult to complete sometimes, if you have issues try a different web browser. I had problems getting it to print with IE8, Chrome, Firefox, finally got it to print using Safari.
http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/
When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning of the passport number, your passport number IS your receipt number.
Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 2 was approved.
Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other for the embassy.
St. Luke's:
http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml#required-docs
Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy, and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)
http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/
Preregister at St. Luke's, it saves time when you arrive.
CFO:
ALL exiting required to attend.
Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.
** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)
Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.
So nice of you to post this.
