  1. In my view four weeks' movement is good. Of course we all hope for more, but whenever I think about the fact that we only have 88 000 visas per year and there are over 300 000 documentarily qualified applicants on the waiting list (see http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf), I am surprised that the cut-off dates move at all. Besides, I am pleased if the wait for an F2A visa stays under 2.5 years - when my husband and I got engaged, the wait was over four years, and the lawyer we consulted told us that it would never get shorter. We never wanted to spend the first couple of years of our married life apart, but since there was no way around it, I am at least happy that the cut-off dates are moving steadily and we can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Athena - Correct me if I am wrong; The 3,00,000 count are not documentarily qualified applicants ONLY. The count is a mixture of all. There are no statistics as to how many are actually qualified and only waiting for their PD's to be current, which can be very low...

  2. Yes it is possible XXX-2009-767-057

    xxx - Country Code.

2009- Year you file your case

    767 - (767-500)= 267 (267th day of year) probably 24th sep 2009

057 - Case serial number is 57 of your country Embassy / Consulate.

If i am not wrong PD is 24-Sep-2009

I am not too sure but thats how it works. Plz correct me if i am wrong.

    Best of Luck

Kashj - your calculation is correct. However, 24-Sep-2009 is not the PD... it's the date that NVC got your completed application (The DS3032 forms, payment etc.. ).

  3. Let's keep positive guys.I think this new fiscal year will be more good and understandable with predictions. I guess USCIS NVC trying work even together and trying go maybe slow but smoothly and unstoppable. In my opinion they will move more faster then before, because befor USCIS was approving very fast all cases but for now look like they trying adjust time lines and make more visible for us our waiting time.new fiscal year and maybe new rules new working style

I agree with you Steve. My two cents: Jan-11 retrogression was because NVC saw a flood of i-130 approvals from USCIS at once; because previous month (Dec or nov 10) itself Charles Oppenheimer had given a statement that there are few f2a applicants and therefore the PD's jumped significantly!

His decision was based on the data - there was/is no visibility from USCIS. I think all the 2009 and major 2010 visas have been used up from the last fiscal year. Since USCIS is now working at a snails pace the state department will see less inflow of applicants thus moving the PD's at a faster pace so that they can plan ahead.

  4. One of my uncle is expert in Immigration filing stuff specially F2As.

He said PD will move alot for October. Lets hope his words come true.

I wish it will jump to August 2010.

Can someone please confirm: You guys are more expert on this.

In 2010, when the PD is almost current.

In November 2010 the PD was 06/01/2010.

In December 2010 the PD was 08/01/2010.

In August 2012, even though PD was 03/15/2012 but they still give interviews to those of PD 03/26/2012 or more.

So, in September 2010, PD is 05/08/2012 they will finish May and June. SO Pd will be July something and in November it will be September.

They had June 2010 and August 2010. Do you guys think they will repeat that?

Waheguru, God, Allah, Devi, please listen to us.

Hello waheguru - can you please ask your uncle as to why he expects the PD's to jump a lot for October for f2a's?

I predict that October bulletin will move 1.5 month.. so it's June,15.

  5. I did not get any thing so mean spetember would may 8 2010 I agredd with steve. If it final the question will be raise on the credibilty of spanish and vietanami forum becuase they still showing marivei has pd 11 may 2010 got his or her interview letter for septmeber 17

    MY PD 10TH 2010

Quasir -- you have been so active and patient wilth all this i am sure you will get your interview soon. Keep your spirits up!!! If not now then for sure next month...

    Cheers..

  6. Me too. When we filed our petition a year ago, the cut-off date was 22 July 2008. I think it is amazing that in a year's time the cut-off date has moved almost two years. Particularly since when we got engaged in 2009 the wait for an F2A visa was over four years and the immigration lawyer my husband consulted told us that the wait would never get shorter.

Good luck qasir - for the past few days I've been coming to VJ constantly, just to see if you received your interview appointment!

For fiscal year 2010 the PD's Jumped 5 years!? (http://travel.state.gov/visa/statistics/ivstats/ivstats_4581.html) isn't that amazing? How come? Hopefully Athena you won't have to wait as long as we are now...

  7. We should be happy even for 2 months movement. The slow and steady wins the race. Just think from 15 March to 15 May..March and April have gone..yahoo...

I would have been happy if there was some sort of demand data available!? Which would prove that they are making the right call on their predictions!

No such thing so they are full of it... and there is no such thing as slow and steady in this matter since nothing is transparent!!!
