  1. It looks hard and nerve-wrecking... but its not. especially when there is a whole community of people here that have been through (and are current going through) the same process as you. there is a wealth of information, advice, and tips on every aspect of AOS. alot of us felt really anxious at the start, but as long as you are organized and give them everything they ask for, you'll be just fine. my method was pretty close to kathryn's. nearly drove my husband nuts with all my lists, post-its, and folders. :D

just approach it calmly and positively. you'll be done and on your way before you know it!

    best of luck,

  2. i totally (L) amazing race!

i liked the indian couple... sigh... right now i am rooting for the korean brothers

i hate that they did 2 eliminations in one night... and why wasn't it a 2 hour premiere like usual?

my one peeve is this... if you sign up for the show, couldn't you at least prepare?

do some wall climbing, running, swimming, learn to read a map, learn a few key phrases in a few languages (taxi, quickly, take me there, thank you, hotel).

it irked me tonight when a few of them were so bad with the wall climb. where did you think you were going, a tea party??? i mean, do a few squats and crunches before you begin a worldwide trek that you know will take stamina and strength. i can forgive sarah with the prosthetic leg because i am sure its hard to get a good grip on the wall with that thing.

can't wait till next week... looks like problems with animals.

  3. so what about pineapples? they are damn near impossible to eat without the aid of sharp knives...

so does that trump bananas? or were we not meant to eat pineapples... or coconuts... or bbq ribs.... hmmmm...

i have my beliefs but i don't base them in the structure of my produce...

its like saying i base my faith in my marriage on the fact that our butts fit on the sofa perfectly together...

i won't go deep into the whole cain and abel thing, except to say that its noted in the dead sea scrolls (book of jubilees) that cain married his sister awan and had a son he called enoch.

  4. I got excited with all of the approvals I updated the list. I hope Stina doesnt mind. Did i forget anybody?

    HOW DARE YOU!!!!

    Haha, I'm just kidding.

Congrats to everyone on their approvals! I was hoping for Friday approvals :D

    I got touched today :)

And now I must go back to bed because I am fighting this stupid cold...

Hmmm... I know what would make me feel better... *checks USCIS website*... nope, no approval yet...

cool beans, Stina. i have a feeling you're next to approve!

i have a cold too (AND its been raining for 2 days now)... make sure you get lots of fluids and rest...

unfortunately, i have a laptop so i am still obssessively checking my online status...

  5. nayalamb,

I'm not sure, because the disclaimer after each episode goes by pretty quick, but I believe there's something in there to the effect that the producers have a say in the outcomes, it's not just the judges' fashion sense that determines the winners and losers.

Anyone, who can read fast, or with a DVR, who can clarify?

    Yodrak

    ....

i think michael should have won this last one, but i think they just wanted to give it to laura since she hadn't won one before and had make a much better effort than last weeks frilltastic mess.

    ....

"The judges considered both the scores and input from the producers and Bravo in reaching their elimination decisions."

i.e. we keep the contestants that make the best tv!!

sigh... thanks yodrak and lisa... and thanks bravo for your fair and unbiased decision-making

maybe next year they can do a runway "all-stars"... santino rice, jeffrey, wendy pepper, austin scarlett, kayne, angela, zulema, andrae, vincent and daniel franco... the one who's still alive at the end wins! because with all the drama, tackiness and attitude, there would be some serious brawls!

  6. I'm Black! Welcome to the party!!!

yeah well, me too, AND a woman, AND a foreigner... :P

i got it from one of the handymen at the university i went to in PA. said i should go back home because i am taking the spot from a hard-working American.

and i've been to a few other countries where i've been ignored, avoided and had people say rude things.

but i chalk it up to individual ignorance and a$$holishness (heh heh i made a new word).
