  1. :)

For some having gone through the same; http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/310802-2-questions-regarding-my-child-and-and-tax-form-4506t/

And this one post is probably important - notice why the child isn't eligible for a visa: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/279895-k1-visa-pregnant-benificiary-question/page__view__findpost__p__4253064

If the rules have changed since then please correct me.

Thank you for bringing this up my friend. Now i know that my child is NOT eligible for a K-2 Visa. I must file a CRBA. It looks like the process is "relatively" fast, compared to the K-1 Visa process. Starting tomorrow i will start filling out all of those papers required for the first interview. It looks like i wont have to be there for the first interview for my child's US passport, but it does seem like i will need to be there for the second interview. If i get started as soon as possible, maybe my little girl will get her US passport before her mother gets the interview for the K-1 Visa. Which i definately need to be there for! Ha! - I need a drink! :hehe:

  2. I don't think this is correct. I could be wrong but I think they "merge" the two petitions together so they are done on the same day. It's best to research this a little more. I would hate to give you wrong info. But the people I know who have been in that situation...they went the CRBA route. I think its wayyyy cheaper also.

Interesting. Now you have me thinking about this again. I will try to get more info on this, because if they do MERGE the two petitions, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

  3. Just a side note; It's your daughter, why not file a CRBA and get your kiddo a US passport? http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/crba_main-e.html

I WAS going to do that, but seeing as it is a different process, they (Mother & Daughter) wont be getting their documents on the same date. One will get her's first, and then the other. So my plan was to just have my daughter hop on the K-2 Visa becuase this way (im guessing) they will recieve their Visas on the same date, and will be on a plane with me back to the US. Then while my daughter is here, i would work on her US passport, since she should be entitled to apply for her quick USC status. - correct me if im wrong please.

  4. Just to make sure. I am the petitioner, which means i DON'T have to fill out any of these; DS 156, 156K, 157, 230, Only my Fiancee and daughter need to, correct? Also, since they are NOT male, neither of them have to fill out the DS 157, correct?

Even though my daughter is only a year and half old, i would still have to pay full price for her Visa ($210) and the Banco Popular Visa Application fee ($140)?

On another note, i heard it goes easier if you child/children are present at the interview since it is strong evidence of the relatioship. Any thoughts on that?

  5. I am slightly confused/unaware of certain questions, that i would love anyone to answer. Please be detailed if you can.

    1. After the I-129F petition is approved here in the USA, it goes to NVC, and then onto the Dominican Embassy. There are a few documents that are required on the day of the interview, some of these are; DS 156, 156K, 157, 230. Exactly where do i get these documents?

    2. I see that many people talk about a "Banco popular reciept" that they have to give in, when they are called to a window during the day of their interview. Is that reciept from the $210 dollars you have to pay for the Visa fee for your Fiance/e? If so, do you do this process on the same day of the interview, or do the people from the consulate send you to do it before the interview, or are the "Banco Popular reciept" and the "$210 Visa fee" different things? If so, can some one please explain?

3.(seeing as you need the interview letter when you get in line on the day of your interview) How does one obtain the physical Interview letter, is it mailed to the petitioner or the beneficiary?

    4. Me and my Fiancee have a child together (a beautiful little girl), and as i haved read elsewhere and understood, the child can recieve a K2 Visa to enter the US with the beneficiary. Exactly how does one go about asking for the Visa for their child? is it at the interview in the consulate? If so, what would be the fee, and what documents would be needed for this? should the child also be present on that day? can anyone that has experienced this or has the knowledge, answer this with detail. - (On a side not, i did put the name of our child on the I-129F form, but thats about all they ask about children.)

  6. Thanks!,

Let me share a little bit of my experience with this ordeal!

when i started to research what to do, in order to bring my fiancee over, i had absolutely NO clue what needed to be done. I thought i was going to need an attorney for this, and as i read on in a variety of different forums with all kinds of questions and answers, i became MORE discourged about going about it alone.

(mostly because i skim through all the context of information without really grasping everything lol  )

But as I began to read everything carefully, i began to print out ALL the forms needed, along with all the evidence and information needed in the package. (i didn't even think i was going to need all that stuff, i seriously thought all i had to do was just fill out the I-129F and "Listo") - But as i read forums like this, i became aware of the experiences of other people, and enriched myself with the knowledge i needed to complete my package.

Thanks to everyone that has dedicated time on this website, to make it such a helpful tool for people in need of MUCH needed help!

When i was done completing the package, i felt a huge relief (and all tingly inside  ) I was proud of myself (not that it's a hard thing to accomplish) But it felt good. Alot of people make mistakes because of the fact that they don't know off-hand, everything that is needed for this to be processed and approved with ease. I did everything step by step and HOPEFULLY (a month in process) I wont get hit with a RFE, and most importantly, wont be denied.

So again, i want to thank everyone for their every bit of much appreciated time and helpful words. And for the creators of this wonderful website, VisaJourney!!!

  7. I asked for that when i called USCIS, and the lady that was servicing me said: "I'm sorry, but we do not make duplicates of NOA, we cannot send you a duplicate." Me: ( ... ... :bonk: ... ) Ok, Thank You Ma'm.

    *Edit*

Who did you speak to in order to get yourself a copy? i sure didn't talk to anyone that was remotely helpful at the 1-800-375-5283 Customer Service Number...

  8. Sorry for forgetting to add the obvious, I haven't had my good cup of coffee yet  .

I sent out the I-129F petition on Nov 14, 2011. It arrived Nov 15, 2011 (Express Mail). I recieved the NOA1 notice by text message and Email, So i do have my case number to check the process online. (I check it everyday even though i know i have to wait 5 months to get the approval) Unless of course, i get hit with a RFE. Or if i get "touched" w/e that refers to...

But the point is, i don't have a hard copy yet. And the Email says that i would have recieved it in the mail between 7-10 business days... It's been over a MONTH! It has me all worked up, not just because of the missing NOA1 hard copy, but because if this happened the first time, will it happen AGAIN with the NOA2 which is the real important hard copy to have even after the Fiancee comes into the US. (or so i read...)

  9. Ugh... I have been reading related posts saying not to worry to much about the NOA1.

But i just can't help myself :crying: ... I actually called USCIS today and let me tell ya' that i never in my life seen such a poor customer service. They were NOT helpful at all. The part that really has me worried is that since i didn't get NOA1, (which is not really that important) will the NOA2 suffer the same fate? - Since the NOA2 is indeed important, i am worried about not recieving that aswell - And i feel helpless!!!

Any thoughts and/or comments are very much appreciated.

Also, I would love to hear some stories by the people who have gone through the Dominican Embassy, (which is where i will have to go with my fiancee) when my petition is hopefully approved in 5 months (Sometime in April of 2012). I have read about 5 so far from the forums, but getting more input from other people would be very encouraging! English or Spanish.
