  1. If all your shots were completed and recorded on the DS-3025 then you should be fine without an I-693 as long as it was properly filled out, signed, and dated. The person starting this thread didn't explain why she had to do an I-693. Perhaps she didn't do all the shots before her medical in London, so had to have additional ones signed off by a civil surgeon. And a lot of the replies are a little off track. I don't think you need to worry about this one.

Thank for your reply. I was told that I needed all of these vaccines listed in my DS-3025 when I did medical exam before K1 visa interview; however, the Panel Physician also told me I may need booster shots in 3 months, and if I were in US in 3 months, I could hand this form to American doctor to see whether needing booster shot or not; if I were still in China, I could come back this clinic to get them. In my DS-3025, I saw the result is "Vaccine History Incomplete-Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate (as Indicated Above)." The time interval between my AOS application and my vaccination is less than 3 months, so I just gave a copy of DS-3025.

  2. I am confused after reading this topic. I just sent my AOS documents to USCIS, and I only attached a copy of DS3025, as my medical exam and viccination just was done on July 30, 2012. As I know, these exam and viccination are still valid for AOS. So why we need to get CS to fill I 693? Is this the new policy in USCIS? Hope to get answer. Thanks in advance.

  3. I just finished my AOS recently, and I only attached the copy of "DS-3025,Vaccination Documentation Worksheet" to USCIS, as my understanding is I have got shots I need in China on July 30,2012, and I have to wait for three months to get second ones, but now only less than two months; besides, I have no flu shot in China, as it is not flu season at that time, and now, September is not flu season in US either, so I think this document is enough for my AOS. I definately will get more shots later and I will take new documents for interview in several months later. This is what I handle AOS.

Thanks Geekette, I'll just tell my fianc'e to keep laughing and I'll answer the questions.:thumbs::rofl:

    :thumbs::D

LOL. I laughed because Geek is funny person and even having joke with officers who also laughed. The officers there in Detroit are nice and procedures are simple actually, so having joke with them is fine.

Can anyone tell me if I am allowed to go with my fiance through customs/immagration?

I have NEXUS International clearance, but would rather walk her through it.

Do they also have Chinese speaking agents.

    Chicago entry.

Just last month, my husband and I went through Detroit customs/immigration together, but my husband has told people working there that I have got K1 visa, and he is my fiance. I did not found Chinese speaking agents there, and also we took Delta airline from Japan to US,so in the airplane they only speak English and Japanese. But Immigration officer did not ask so many questions, and at beginning, my husband answered some questions for me and I just laughing. They can see your name in her K1 visa as petitoner for her.

  4. We will haven't recieved my fiancées visa by EMS. Should we be worried? What are the paths to take I she doesn't get her visa after all?? Contact my congressman? It kind of feels like no-man's land right now...

She got a white letter saying that her visa has been approved by the GZ consulate right after she had her interview.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Many many thanks,

    -Walter

    Hi Walter,

First email consulate and ask them to advise you the status of visa and you also can call DOS (202) 663-1225 press 1 then press 0 to get a human and they can tell you 1) interview result 2) if you were put in AP 3) if visa has been issued 4)if visa is mailed( which actually means it is in mailroom getting bundle) Check tracking number on EMS website, if it shows in system- it has left consulate and is at GUZ post office.

  5. how much of the above was submitted with the I-129F ?

    pics of family members

    engagement ring receipt of

chat logs from MSN About 4 or 5 pages from beginning/ middle/current at that time (currently have about 600 pages of chat logs but we spent most of our time on cam)

did not use skype until after trip

  6. best evidence is pictures of couple together with bride's parents and extended family.

could be banquet, or wedding party, or some other event.

the more pics in different places with lots of family, the more confidence in GZ.

GZ understands "face", and knows nobody wants to loose it.

cash investment not important. family investment critical.

We went out for dinners with my family members many times, and took some pictures. We also short travelled to other cities for sight seeing. I hope GZ VO is very professional, expert to read "face", like "Don't lie to me" that guy. This will be good, as the real liars can show who they are. Now I am very busy for my job here, and my fiance asks me many times to cut off my jobs. My only concern is how much time I can get to prepare for this important interview. Anyway, appreciate opinions from VJers.

  7. Thanks for these making sense replies. I think every case is different, and VO will judge case by case. Also some body get blue slip with reasons. but if these reasons are not put into a context to consider, and when it spreads out, this reason will become “rule" for blue slip.

  8. Thanks for your reply. we have small engagement ceromony with some family members and he bought engagement ring to me. He also keeps the receipt of ring purchase. Besides, we talk every day, even every working day he drives to work, we also talk on skype, until to his office. Also I talked with his family members on skype too. I will take all of these with me for interview. Thanks again.

  9. I don t think there is a rule of how much time you spent toghetr . iT S IMPORTANT to meet at least 1 in the last 2 years! Goodluck :) Don't worry !!! Im very sure is not gonna be a problem!

Thank you. Maybe GZ consulate has so many rumors there. I think only thing I can do is to tell VO that we would love to stay together for one month, even one year; however, the reality is we have to work.

  10. I am geekette, and I want to make this story to be more detailed. Here is what I found from other person's comment "From what she told me, Guangzhou is one of the hardest embassies, they give blue papers to most. Main two reasons being not enough time spent together and the other being financial evidence. They require 3 years of tax returns... And for time together, most likely need at least 1 month together in person. " So I am just worried for blue slip, but I also know blue slip is not end of the world. Just wondering whether somebody experienced same situation with us or not, and maybe can find some solution from VJers.

  11. I have read a few topics on here that Guz will deny your visa if you have spent less then one month together. I have spent 7 days with my fiance after web caming for 6 monthes. Her interview is aug 14 and I will be with her 3 weeks at that time aug 7 - 26. Im a middle class working dog and dont have a lot of vacation time. She is worried that we will be denied for not enought time togeter.

Is this a well founded worry or not?

  12. As a Chinese woman here, I think I know something about this issue. Family unhappy for your marriage maybe is caused by: (1) they think their daughters are excellent, and nobody can match with her, which is similar as American movie “Meet the Parents”; (2) they want to give hardship to their future son-in-law and let him to know that their daughter has strong back-up from family, and don’t bully her in the future. (these two points are suitable for Chinese son-in-law too.) (3) they distrust the seriousness of their future son-in-law, especially for American guys, as so many Hollywood movies and rumors make Chinese having the thought that Americans are easy to divorce (even China now divorce rate is more than 40%, but most of Chinese think American guys are not as responsible as Chinese guys in the family). (4) they like big and close family and dislike you taking her daughter away from them.

Then you may need to know what reasons they are unhappy firstly, and try to find solution. Also it is right marrying with a Chinese woman a kind of like marrying with her whole family. So It is hard for your Chinese finance to make decision to just be with you without her family where she was raised up.

Here is some my personal ideas and see whether they can help you:

    (1) A gift is good ideal.

    (2) Use some translation stuff. When my finance communicate with my parents, if I were there, I can interpret for them; but if I were not there, he said he can communicate through voice translation of IPhone and his body language; even the machine translation and body language sometimes are really wrong and funny, but really helping to break ice and easy the atmosphere.

    (3) Let them to know you are really serious for this relationship, so maybe you need to ask to hold a family meeting or talk this at dinner when everybody there. You need to tell them you love their daughter and will try your best to make her happy. Majority of Chinese are shy to say this kind of words, but they love listening to this, and this will really help them to repel worries.

    (4) Talk with them and let them know their daughter just going to US with you and she still can come back to visit them when you have chances….. Trying to help them to feel that they don’t lose a daughter, actually gain a more man (son-in-law) to be the member of this family.

These only my personal ideas. Every family is different. E.g. my family never has this issue, as my parents try to be democratic with their kids, and only we are happy, and they will be happy. Also I train them to accept diversity and difference.

  13. As I know now in the whole China, the criminal records are national interconnected, which means any place in China they can see your records online (However I have no idea she needs to get this notarized police records at the place where her Hukou (户口)is or not). Here is my experience.I got my police record in Shenzhen where my Hukou is. I called police station which issued my no-crimial record and told them I have lived in Shanghai for several years for studying, and do I need to come back to Shanghai to get another one? They told me, no, this is enough. Then I went to notary office, and talked with notary about this issue. They told me notary just follows the letter issued by police station to make the notary. So in my notarized book, here is the explanation of no-criminal records "This is to certify that xxxxx had no record of committing offences during her residence in the People's Republic of China till xxxxxx". This is just for living in China, and if stayed overseas more than 6 months which will be another story.

  14. I think you are fine, but I read Guangzhou Consulate website, and read "FAQs - After Interveiw-Question 4",here is the information:

    4. I was told that I have a ‘public charge’ ineligibility, but my petitioner/cosponsor’s income is above the poverty guidelines. Why am I ineligible?

Consular officers are mandated by law to consider the totality of circumstances when determining whether an applicant has a public charge ineligibility. Income is but one of the many criteria that officers must review; others include the applicant’s health, age, education level, work experience, language ability, and family situation. It is not uncommon for applicants to be found ineligible even when their petitioner’s income is above the poverty guidelines. To overcome this ineligibility, applicants must either find a credible cosponsor with sufficient income and assets, or prove that their financial situation has changed since the interview.

So still need to well prepare anything to proof your wife/finance will not be "public charge".

  15. excellent.

what? no cooking tools at geekette's place? aiyo. hmmmm.. IME, even having a cooking party elsewhere is both fun and useful.

Hey, Darnell, you mean the real cooking? I know how to cook, hehe, and there are cooking utensils in my place. However, Geek never tried the foods I cooked, but he tasted my dad's cooking and especially loves “pork braised in soy sauce" and dumpling.
