Approved for citizenship today. Same day oath ceremony was nice, 7 hours of waiting wasn't. My interview was only 15 mins and the interviewer was very direct but professional. No pleasantries were exchanged but they were incredibly busy so I can understand the need to get through all the applicants. My interview was at 8:15am in Newark, I didn't need to submit any additional support or passport photos, just presented my greencard, passport and drivers license. Test consisted of:

1. Which group were brought to the US as slaves?
2. Who is the VP?
3 Number of amendments to the Constitution?
4. Who creates laws?
5. Why did we fight the British?
6. What is the highest court?

Read: What was the first state?
Write: Delaware was the first state.

Asked yes/no questions and signed forms on an iPad.

The ceremony was very nice, introduction from the USCIS staff, stood for the national anthem, then we watched a video, called out each country and applicants from that country stood up (38 total in my ceremony), said the oath of allegiance (right hand in the air), welcome video from the President, said the pledge of allegiance (right hand over heart), concluded and took photos. Overall, an exhausting day but well worth it and very special. Best of luck to my fellow NJ filers..I'm done!

I have my citizenship interview coming up in January and (hopefully everything going smoothly) my oath ceremony that same day at the Newark field office. I tried searching but couldn't find anything about guests being allowed. My in-laws are interested in witnessing my ceremony. Anyone here have any experience with bringing guests to Newark?

From the same forum it also looks like us October Online filers should be getting our Interview letters next month.

Today I was explaining to a coworker that my wait time for a citizenship interview is currently 9 months and his response was "You could make a citizen in that time!"

Made me laugh and I thought I would share with you all. Hopefully we all start getting more updates over the coming weeks. Cheers

Yes, I just checked my case and it updated the same day I had the biometrics done to say:

"We reviewed your biometrics

You do not need to do anything at this time

We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your application."

The acceptance confirmation email says it ti being routed to "Harrisburg Storage Center" too, but the check my status tool says it is being processed at "Integrated Operating Env location". Interesting...

Just got back from the Hackensack, NJ office. Walked in and out in 5 mins. Not a single other applicant in the building. Staff were all very nice and had no issues that I used a printed letter from my online account or that I was 12 days early. I recommend giving it a try @viajero

Updated the tracker and fixed the alignment.

Received my biometrics letter via online today. Still waiting for my hard copy letter. Can I do a walk-in with a printed online copy? Looks exactly the same. Never done a walk-in before, any idea whether Hackensack, NJ allows it? It's always been quiet when I've gone in the past.

Several VJ people have reported being asked for photos at the N-400 interview, and they either had to rush out immediately, get photos and bring them back on the spot, or have their approval delayed by however long it took them to get the photos back to USCIS.

Apparently this can happen if the photo taken at biometrics is not suitable for use. It's rare, but can and does happen. You might want to consider saving yourself that possible headache and bring photos with you. :-)

This is a great tip, I will absolutely take copies into the interview. Thanks
