Our interview is scheduled for the middle of April in Centennial as well.
Don't drive yourself crazy about it, the reviews I read were pretty positive. Just make sure you bring the proof you have (and as someone suggested, maybe get some affidavits).
-
Is your 'out of town for long weekend' a vacation for two of you guys? or is it like a family emergency?
I can't say you have to go to the interview instead of the trip but during the whole procedure our priority was the interview. You can enjoy more your vacation when everything is settled.
It seems like some poeple get rescheduled their interviews and get another date within 1~6 months.
It is totally your business what to do but I'm just saying...
Definitely not a family emergency lol. It's just something we've been looking forward to fora while. Just our luck that the interview would be that weekend. I pretty much convinced my husband that rescheduling is just not gonna happen, so we're hoping for an appointment in the am, so we can head out of town afterwards... but oh well, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we couldn't go.

I just got an email that our interview was scheduled and the notice is in the mail.
Big bummer is that the day they scheduled us, we were supposed to go out of town for a long weekend... Interview location would be out of the way from where our trip is going... My husband wants to try to reschedule once we get the actual letter, but I've looked around on here and rescheduling seems to be a pretty bad idea...

EAD/AP combo card in hand since last night :-) Wohoo I'm going back to work *happydance*
-
My EAD card has been picked up last night :-) Looks I get to start my job on Monday after all :-)
-
I received the second EAD card production email today :-)
-
Yay, congrats!!! I know you were waiting for this for a loooong time (just like me)!
I got 2 identical emails about EAD in production, 1 email about AP approval, and 1 email about USPS picking up EAD from USCIS... I really hope I get a combo card! Online, my AP status is still "Post Decision Activity" even though EAD is in card production.
That's exactly what mine says! I guess we can just wait and see what ends up landing in the mailbox!
Yours should be there real soon if USPS already picked it up, right?
-
Aaaaaah, all the whining must have helped: I just got emails and texts about the approval of EAD and AP and card production of EAD (I wonder is they won't give me a combo card, not that I really care... can't afford and am not planning to leave the country anytime soon anyway)
WOOOOOOHOOOOO
-
I think you need to talk to the post office about mail issues!
We haven't had any issues after the change of address... nothing has been sent back to USCIS as undeliverable since the beginning of January, they actually called to make sure they were sending stuff to the right address (who knew they'd actually care?), so that's not the problem anymore at this point...
it just sucks that that delayed everything so much...
-
Congrats to all the recent approvals!!
Still no news for us on either EAD or the interview letter... getting really anxious... I have a great job lined up IF my EAD gets here before the 19th...
We called USCIS on friday and the friday before, talked to a tier 2 person, and got the same answer every time... "it looks like everything is processed its just pending the decision" well, make a freaking decision, PLEASE!!!
Sorry... just needed to vent a little...

Married is married, it does not matter if it's a courthouse wedding or a big ceremony. As long as you have your marriage certificate you can file for AOS.
Make sure to read the guides on here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2
Maybe someone with more experience with F1 visas can comment more on that, but once your case is accepted by USCIS you are no longer bound to your F1 status, but in a new period of authorized stay for as long as your AOS is pending. Should your AOS be denied, you would have to leave the country.
If that is all there is to your case it seems pretty straight forward.
(We're doing the same thing by the way, we had a small ceremony without guests (although not at the courthouse) and will have a big wedding with family and friends later this year)
Good luck!

" Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between February 20, 2012 and February 25, 2012*. "
I know it's only an indication... but I'm starting to get impatient... no a fan of the waiting game...

Excellent, thank you so much! File tomorrow, I'll keep a record. Wish us luck!
Make sure to read the guides etc before you send everything off. If you forget any of the required paperwork or evidence, you'll get a request for further evidence that will slow you down. So make sure to go through everything and double (or triple) check before you send it off...
good luck

Wow, I just saw your timeline --so crazy, i didn't know they start card production for EAD/AP before biometrics. It seems like you'll get yours soon! In the meantime, I will be right here commiserating with you.
Well, I got super excited after it changed to "card production" but a few days later it changed back to "inital review"... so i don't really know whats going on...

You're not alone... I'm a December filer as well and havent received anything... we're at 70 days now, had a late biometrics appointment though because there was an issue with the notices being send to our physical address instead of our po box...
i feel your pain... im going crazy... i actually have a job offer and it looks like i wont be able to take the job unless something happens in the next few days...
-
Try posting a grumpy fb status. My EAD got approved 5 days after.
Just a coincidence though. I just had my first job interview today, nice to get a bit out to see the world hasn't stopped for the past 5-6 months afterall! : ) You're adjusting from a J1 visa, right? I'm guessing you'll have an interview. Am hoping you'll hear something soon, just to at least see some sort of progress.
Haha, I should try that, just for the heck of it ;-)
Yea, we're expecting to have t go to an interview because I am adjusting from J1, but I honestly don't care too much how much longer we have to wait for the interview, I just wanna be able to go back to work... Sitting at home is not my cup of tea...
-
Thank you for sharing your experience! We will also have our interview in Denver (we're still waiting for the appointment though)
It sounds pretty positive to me, so I'm gonna go ahead and say CONGRATS
-
Not sure about the expired passport, but I feel like I've read on here that that should work. I only had my (unexpired) passport and they asked me for something with the married name, I had the marriage certificate and that was good enough for them.
-
Congrats to everyone who got their EAD/AP or even got the approval already!!
We're still waiting to hear something about EAD or finally getting an interview letter... *sitting waiting wishing*

Herzlich willkommen :-)

I can only speak from my own experience, but the only thing I brought and told him about were my vaccination records (thankfully up to date on everything, so no extra costs for that).
He/she will ask you some questions about your medical history, medical history of your family (does anyone have cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc), some questions about your mental health, use of alcohol/drugs...
My medical was over in 20 minutes or so... so it's nothing to drive yourself crazy for...
-
I finally did my biometrics today, after all the drama with stuff getting send back, they actually called me to verify the mailing address, so i ended up getting three appointment notices for biometrics... all with the same appointment date...
We were in Denver today, to drop my husband's friend off at the airport, so we figured we'd try to do a walk in (yea... only two days before the appointment). We had to wait a little while, but they were nice enough to take my photo and fingerprints today, so that's out of the way too. back to the waiting game lol

I paid $290 for my exam... that included the check-up at the civil surgeons practice and $45 for the bloodwork that he did (I was pissed cause they quoted me $245 and no one ever mentioned that didn't include the cost for the bloodwork at the lab). My shots were current and I didn't need a chest x-ray.
Here in Colorado in about an hour radius he was the cheapest, I got quotes of up to $700!!

Hey,
I got the same NOA hard copies as you did, never received the one for I-485. We've had some trouble with stuff being send back to USCIS (see my timeline below). We just got back from a weekend away and found the biometrics letter in our mailbox, for I-485 and I-765. So even though I never got a NOA fir I-485, they are still working on it. I was driving myself crazy about all this, but am getting to the point where I'm realizing, there is nothing we can do but wait.
As for the walk-in for your biometrics appointment: you have to wait until you get your appointment letter, once you have that you can try to go to the locations (with the letter!!) and see if they let you do a walk-in. Not all locations accept walk-ins though, and opinions seem to vary as to how much it really speeds up the whole process.
AOS December 2011 Filers!
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
We are heading to Denver for our interview on Thursday, starting to get nervous!
Are there any other December filers who are still in the process, like we are?
