Be assured that the U.S. embassy will contact you if the administrative processing is complete or if they require additional information.

I see more of a beneficiary background check in our case. Based upon yours, it looks like they are reviewing paperwork or some verbal communication at the interview. whatever is this, hopefully it will be over soon.

Yes, it is different. Hopefully they are doing both reviewing the docs and name checks. I don't want to be on AP after they review the information. Well, just in case I already contacted my congresswoman they'll be calling/emailing the Embassy.

Btw, do you know which CO interviewed your Fiancee? We had the young short man.

my husband case was under AP since Nov. no one help regarding this matter means congressman or senator.In Jan after 2 months interviewed i visited embassy at new delhi but they told me i have to wait until over case not get cleared. after that i called every week at Department of state they told me before that your case under AP but since last 2 months they are saying we are working on it.

but last week on monday i visited at embassy tell them i am pregnant & my doctor not allowing me to travel after 6 months. then after 1 hour waiting american guy came he said your case under AP you have to wait i request him i have to go back there before 6 months please help me out. he said ok i try what we can do regarding your case i said thankyou and walked out. on friday my husband received message from VFS office your passport ready to pickup from VFS office at new delhi. i think we gone receive passport on monday or tuesday. still worrying about it don't know is visa or passport & paper need more documents.

Oh wow! That is a long time, 6 months. Fortunately, the wait is over and you 'll be together in USA. I think it is the VISA and Passport. Good Luck. Please let us know how everything goes. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Did any of you have contacted the Embassy? I received the answer to the email I sent last week, not good news though it says

"Dear Sir/Ma'am,

As per the US Embassy your application is pending under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for administrative processing.  Section 221(g) prohibits the issuance of a visa to an individual whose application is incomplete or inconclusive, or whose eligibility has not been firmly established.  In this instance, post is attempting to independently verify certain information presented by you at the time of your interview."

I am really freaking out here. The CO didn't give us any 221(g) or asked us to submit more documentation. He only gave us the letter with the information saying that he will go through mandatory administrative processing.

Did any of you get this message and later asked you to submit more information and/or gave you the visa?

same here, four weeks of AP. I wonder how long we should wait before sending a congressional inquiry?

Well, I sent an eamil to VFS already and I plan to seek the help of my congress woman in 2 weeks, by the time they respond and then send the inquiry to the Embassy it will be the 60day requirement before giving you any AP updates. But I really hope that it will be over before I even contact my congress woman.

Wow! Great News! Congratulations! Almost 4 months in AP is not that bad after all, huh? It will be a month for us, hopefully it will end soon though -Time does fly. Wish you both a Happy Life Together. :-)

i am a usc and am planning on going to india for my husbands CR-1 interview at new delhi us embassy just wondering if i would be allowed to accompany him into the embassy for his interview ....Thanks !

Great news! Finally, your AP is over.

My husband called me, he told me Ankara embassy call him to send his passport. I checked today Ankara administrative process # but his case # was not there. Then I called DOS. DOS operator told me he still in administrative processing. I don't want to keep my hope up. He will send his passport tomorrow morning. I am praying for good news. I hope :wacko:

My fiancee had her interview for K1 visa on May 9th at new delhi consulate. At the end of a succesfull interview, She was told by CO, " Congrats, your visa has been approved" and they kept her passport along with some other paperwork. She was not given any kind of receipt or 221G whatsoever. upon asking when i will get my passport back, She was told, You will get your passport back in 5 to 6 days and was handed over a blue pamplet which says " Welcome to America". It has been almost two weeks & we have not received the passport yet. Every time I check her passport on VFS website, it displays the same message: " Your passport in under process at US embassy/Consulate". On the top of that, when I called DOS, VO says, your case has been put under admin processing and they have not made a decesion yet. I do not understand this, why would they tell her,she is approved for visa at the interview and DOS says "they have not made a decision yet". Any comments, suggestions guys? How long will it take to get passport back and above all, what is the impact on outcome of all this?

hmmm, we also had our interview on May 9th at New Delhi. Although the CO didn't say "you're approved" he kept the passport and told us to go to window 30 to answer a few more questions, when we went to window 30 the guy there gave us the blue pamplet titled "immigrant visas" and a letter saying "you are under mandatory administrative processing". When I track the passport it also says that is under admin processing at embassy.

Phew! Hopefully, it will be done soon and they issue our visas. Good Luck!

July15 is still under AP?

Unfortunately, we are I really hope it will be over soon.

We had our interview today. It was nice and smooth. The CO asked us many questions mostly addressed to me (USC). Unfortunately, we were placed in AP (I knew this since I was already told by few members, luckily they didn't give us the 221g paper, only a letter saying that my husband has to go through mandatory administrative processing(he's muslim) they kept his passport. Hopefully, he'll get his visa soon.

What I learned:

I am from New Delhi, India. Wanted to let people applying from here know that the US embassy in New Delhi require you to get two police certificates if you are an Indian citizen, residing here and your passport was issued more than 6 months before your application. Please note that one police clearance is required from your local Passport office and one from your district police (SSP's office)."

I have CR1 interview on Apr.20th. I did paper filing of my Federal taxes and sent on Mar 20th to IRS and its received by IRS. When can I request 2011 tax script from IRS. Will it be ready only after they send a refund or can I request before that.

Hi, my Tax Return was transferred from the ITIN-office to the IRS processing Dept. (I don't know the process)The IRS received my Tax Return on March 29th and I was able to order my Tax Transcript today. I haven't received the refund yet. If they already received your Tax Return then you can order the transcript.

We were on almost exactly the same schedule as you for the ITIN, and "where's my refund" also said May 1st for me last week. Try checking again this week because I checked today, and it now says I should have my refund in my account tomorrow.

Hahahaha, you just made me laugh hahahahaha. Yes, I think we all have felt that way. You are right they don't even let you finish what you want to say, sometimes I am rude to them as well. The other day when I called to check on my interview, the man responded the usual answer...the first 2 weeks of the month...etc. I answered a bit loud and rude -that's not what I asked, I just want to know if my interview has been scheduled NOT when they are scheduled. He responded no mam (his tone changed and he waited for me to finish speaking). Then I finish with Ok thank you. You're welcome have a nice day mam.

I have a question my friends, who should I keep calling about my interview date, DOS or NVC? I can t make the difference in their role?

Right thats you i dont tell anything about my progress to anyone.When i will have my visa then i planed to tell my family and relatives.

Same here, I don't tell people otherwise they would be asking every other day.

I read somewhere that if you are due a refund you don't need an extension only if you owe taxes, but I'm not sure is better to call the IRS or go to your local IRS office. You can complete the form, email it to her to sign and then she can mail it back to you along with her ID or Driver License and Birth Certificate, since they need to be notarized by a notary from the US or have her get them notarized in her country and they need to be apostille -well you can read this in the instructions (I just find it easier to get them notarized in US).

I sent my Tax Return and ITIN on March 5th, got the ITIN number March 26th, and according to the IRS -where's my refund, I should be getting it by MAY 1st, (this is a long wait, I wonder why)
