  1. actually i just joined this web today, and i don't know how to use it.. so, the think is that..i am a permanent resident of U.S. and i passed like 2 and a half year here..and in June 2012 it will be 3 years. and this coming August im going back to my country Pakistan for getting married.so i want to ask that should i apply for him( husband) after getting married on my permanent resident or should i wait for my U.S Citizenship? i want to see that in which process he should be here soon.

In my opinion, applying for immigration of spouse on PR card is much more hassle than simply waiting for citizenship and applying as citizen.

US citizen gets high preference and no wait time when applying foreign spouse than PR. I will strongly suggest you to wait until you get US citizenship.

In my opinion, it is really hard to maintain distance relationship for years. my two cents. :ot:

  2. I got married last year and applied I-130 for my spouse. If everything goes fine, I will expect NOA2 in March/April 2012.

I have also started to collect necessary document for I-864 form. It says that I need to submit last three years of tax transcript.

As you know I am married and my spouse reside in foreign country. Now, my question is related to tax form 1040.

More specifically, I supposed to write my status as married. Keep in mind, I will use tax transcripts of 2011, 2010 and 2009 with I-864 form.

I am confused with many post, some people suggest single status while other insist married.

Please help me if you guys ever been in this situation.

  3. So I logged on to VJ today (it's become a kind of a daily ritual as time goes by, waiting for our NOA2)... and I checked the VJ timelines for IR-1/CR-1 I-130 processing and wow, that was a surprise! The last time I'd checked, August files were being worked upon (please do not confuse this with the "June 16" processing date the CSC officials themselves tell callers). And this evening, it's now September.

Now, since VJ estimates are based on updates from members, I'm being a weeee bit hopeful and jumping to the conclusion that approvals have sped up.

Either way, I'm so, so, so hoping the CSC is sitting up straight now and trying to get the workload cleared now. They have no excuses anymore... the holidays are over, it's time to get to some serious work, people! :bonk:

Ahem... FYI, I'm an October filer so I'm hoping y'all get cleared asap so that my application can see the light of day - it's still "untouched"! :crying:

same here, I am November filer and hope some light after your application.

  4. Jenny,

I sent my paper work(I-130) on November 19 by certified US Postal services.

My packet includes following item, I include only those item which were written in I-130 instruction document. I am waiting for NOA1.

Right now, thanksgiving week is going on. So, I can expect NOA1 in the beginning of next week.

    •Application fee check $420

    •Form I-130

    •Form G-325A (Petitioner)

    •Form G-325A (Beneficiary)

    •Form G-1145

    •Passport Style Photo (Petitioner)

    •Passport Style Photo (Beneficiary)

•Copy of Marriage Certificate from Pakistan (Urdu)

•Copy of translated Marriage Certificate (English)

    •Copy of naturalization certificate

    •Wedding pictures

  5. Hmm well I kept saying you need to send the original certificate of authenticity every time you send a translation, but apparently that's not true! Sorry about that; I guess plain copies are ok for USCIS.

    Yeah.

Next is to wait for NOA 2. You should get NOA 1 in about 1-2 weeks. On average NOA 2 takes about 5 months. Visas for Pakistanis can take some time, so I don't see a benefit in delaying the process, but that's up to you. I would take the steps now and when the embassy schedules your interview and it is too soon, then maybe ask for a laterinterview date. That's my suggestion.

I believe it is all up to me to send document NVC as I wish.

    Am I right?

  6. Hi I sent copy of English translation of Nikkah nama not the Urdu one but copy of English Translation also I have Nadra registration I sent the copy of it as well.

Hope: Does NADRA also provide registration document. It is my understanding that nakkah was also registered with agency.

uscis only needs COPIES. NO originals.

I only sent copies of english translation and urdu marriage certificate with the i-130, no originals. I sent the originals to the NVC. Do not send any originals with i-130 because the NVC needs the originals.

send only the copies to USCIS and the originals to the NVC

    good luck :)

Today I submitted my I-130 along with copies of translated and Urdu nikkah nama.

    few more questions.

what is next step, and how long will it take?

Could I also delay this process?

If yes, then what will be suitable stage?

send only the copies to USCIS and the originals to the NVC

    good luck :)

I read your signature and it says you got RFE request. what was that?

  7. A translator will take a photocopy of your marriage license and give you a print-out or photocopy of a translation and an original signed statement of accuracy. The statement of accuracy certifies that the translation is correct. The translator can be a company or any person who knows both Urdu and English.

Send the photocopy of your marriage license, the print-out or photocopy of the translation, and the original signed statement of accuracy with the I-130.

Bring your original marriage license to the interview.

There is no separate signed statement.

At the end of translated marriage certificate I found following statement.

"The Translation of this Marriage Certificate from Urdu to English has been persued by me and found correct, Hence Certificate to be TRUE."

Then he stamped near it which shows his name and signed it.

Now, I dont have any other page. Does this mean I need to submit original translation?

    What would you say?
