  1. I think A&B is right about summer vacation prices - looking at the same direct flights I have already taken three time between Chicago and Hong Kong on United, for the first week of August it is $1700, but if I check prices for the last week of August/with returning the first week of Sep, the same flight drops to $1100 ($600 cheaper!)

  2. He will not be "following to Join" until 2013. He is going to finish out his Middle School "career" in ZhuHai, living with her ex. He will then join us next year, and start his High School "career" in the States. We haven't thought too much yet about whether he will travel alone when the time comes, since it is still many months away. But I will also be very interested in what any VJers who have already delt with this situation have to say. Thanks

  3. Your Fiancee will get a hard copy of OF-169 when she gets her packet 3, along with form DS230, which also has a part that should be filled in with Native Chinese. She will need to return both of these forms, along with a copy of the Bio part of her Passport (photo page). Everything else she bings to the interview.

Even if you fill in the forms for her, and then mail them to her for her to send them in to GUZ, she will still have to sign them both first, so at that time she could print in the Chinese part.

I am finally getting into the same phase as you with my K1. Best Regards

  4. Thanks, you are right, she already has some experience (frustration) with that, in getting her certified Divorce certificate - HaHa!

It's funny, when we talked on Yahoo Messenger this morning, I warned her to keep moving forward on getting everything ready for the interview, because I had a feeling we would finally get notice of NVC case this week, and then things would start happening fast, and she Pooh-Poohed me and laughed, and said "still plenty of time". :P

But she will be so glad (when she wakes up and finds out), like me, that she doesn't have as much time as she thought when she went to bed last night!! :D

  5. Hi VJers - have a question about the "Police Report" required to bring to the interview (in China). Does one Police Report prepared from the Police Department where my Fiancee currently lives (yes, she has lived there for more than 6 months) suffice, or does she have to have a separate Police Report form everywhere in China she has lived since she was age 16? She has lived in China her whole life, but at several places since age 16. I'm a little confused about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  6. Notified (by my Congressman's office, not by NVC yet, maybe I will get the notification later today, or tonight from NVC) of receipt of Case from USCIS, and also have a case number assigned!

What a wait form NOA2 - 55 days - made my Fiancee and me crazy!

I absolutely love this site, and how helpful everyone is, it is indispensible for all of us going through our "Visa Journey"!

That being said, I have a request of the VJ management team:

Please change this part of the K1 Visa Flowchart:

2 Weeks5.Case Forwarded by your Service Center to the National Visa Center (NVC)Case Forwarded by your Service Center to the National Visa Center*Two weeks after you receive the NOA2 you can contact the NVC to see if they have received your approved I-129F. You can contact them at 603 334-0700. Their homepage is here. Welcome to the US Department of State! Things move much faster now :).

Suggest you modify this stage to say 2 - 8 weeks! haha!

    Thanks!

  7. Congrats to all that have case numbers!

I still don't even have notice that my file arrived at NVC yet. NOA2 date of May 9!

    OFF TOPIC:

Best Asian Romantic Movies (in my opinion), they all bring me to tears! :

Best Chinese Romantic Movie - The Road Home

Best Korean Romantic Movie - My Sassy Girl (also very funny!)

Best Japanese Romantic Movie - Tie - "Be With You" and "Boys Over Flowers"

Sorry Phils, Thais, and Viets, haven't watched any romantic movies made there, any suggestions?

  8. Cool! My Fiancee is not going to sell her place in ZhuHai, I have loved visiting her there (3 times now), with always lots to do in ZhuHai, Hong Kong, and Macau! We will rent out her place (in one of the high rise condo places), and consider maybe retiring there. But that would be a couple decades away. :) Its funny, ZhuHai would be a major city in the US, but in China......

  9. Funny, I've been thinking about that myself, so I asked about that on "today's" phone session (I call daily now). I mentioned they have already used up almost half my time left to get this Visa done. The guy on the phone from NVC said "no problem getting an extention, it will show the date we entered the case...." Somehow, knowing that doesn't make me feel any better.....:angry:
