SALAM
I GOT THIS EMAIL
Dear Madam or Sir,
Thank you for your inquiry. Some visa applications, such as this one, require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa is approved by a consular officer. There is no timeframe for this to be completed, as administrative processing times vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Once the visa is ready to be delivered, we will contact the applicants with a new appointment.
Best,
Sana’a IV Unit

This can be problematic though. Yes, English is the predominant language in the US. But English proficiency is not required to get a visa, at all. This is likely a challenging, intricate consulate, and some information might be lost in translation to English for the beneficiaries. Rules are rules, and are in place for good reason, but at the same time the website is supposed to help people who need assistance with a difficult process. The thread is long, and has been viewed a lot. Obviously those participating are committed to it. It seems unfortunate at the same time to possibly leave someone out who needs help from this thread because their English isn't great.

First of all this topic is about interviews in Sana'a and Sana'a is in Yemen and Yemen is a Arabic country if you didn't know that, and secondly what are you doing reading this topic if you aren't from Yemen and you already received your visa and are already in the States and finally a friendly reminder some people aren't as lucky as some people and know how to read and write perfect English so sometimes they need to reply in Arabic. -
hk9302010 reacted to carolynhotstuff in After 4 and a half years visa is issued
I got an email from the embassy this morning. They said my husband's visa has been issued and he has to be in the States by March 9, 2014.
Most of you know our story. We were in AP 16 months when our visa got denied because the embassy said we were not legally married because I am a Christian and he is Muslim. We hired an immigration attorney and won our appeal. Our case was sent back to the embassy where we were kept in AP almost another 2 years.
My husband is strong and he kept our marriage together through the long wait.
I want to thank all my friends on visa journey that supported us and encouraged us through the years.

So many people I know got calls from the embassy to go with their I.D. this past week. I just hope they don't schedule too many people that they can't have all the visas ready.
My husband is in Sanaa and will go to his original appointment tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Lets see if they will let him in and give him his visa...

Our house number doesn't ring most of the time so we just gave them his cell number. Alhamdulilah he got his visa today thank god they didnt ask him anything or look for anything, they had ALL our papers and his passport. The appointment was for 10 am and he called me 11:45 am and inshallah everyone else gets it, they seem to be moving a lot faster now.
