StormHeraldEDM got a reaction from jessicaruizw in NVC Filers - September 2012
Hello, Septemberites....sorry I was incommunicado for a bit, just got back from hubby's interview in Montreal....and he was approved! Even though he got a terrible case of stage fright and lost his tongue. He totally FORGOT our wedding date twice in a row. We had thoroughly prepared (I thought), but when the interviewer asked him if he'd ever had any problems crossing the border, he went off about how they had incinerated his souvenier cactus (that he bought while visiting, and despite the USDA approval stamp, Canadian customs felt it was threatening enough to throw it away)....now what they were asking, babe!
I'll post a full review shortly, but just one snippet for thought: the interview paper my husband received specifically stated that they did not need another copy of my proof of divorce as previously provided; however, at the interview, the second question that I was asked was for certificates of divorce. I am GLAD that I followed other's advice and brought copies of EVERYTHING with me, or it could have been a bad situation. Bring it all, baby!
Good luck to everyone! I'll post more as POE approaches.

StormHeraldEDM got a reaction from VeeNDee in Medical review of Dr. Gulzar Cheema
My husband used Dr Cheema's office for his medical, and had a stellar experience!
He called on a Tuesday to make an appointment - he was on holiday for the remainder of the week, so asked if they could fit him in...and they could, 2 days later! Awesome.
It took him less time than anticipated to reach the office via taxi from the airport, and Dr Cheema's staff were happy to process him a bit early. He says the exam was brief but professional. Lab and X-ray were smooth and with only short waits (15ish minutes each). He flew back home the same evening, results made it to him Monday via Purolator (his medical was on a Thursday, and the results were mailed).
His only words of caution...watch out for crazy drivers in the adjacent parkinglot! Recommends Dr Cheema and his staff without reservation.

Should not matter where you live.. So long as you have a nice porch to sit side by side on a Friday night, playing footsie. Forever and always

America simply cannot absorb everyone that wants to live here. When you came here you knew you would leave your family behind. My husband did the same and I am sure he misses them but it was his decision ultimately. Honestly, I think the restrictions should be tighter not looser. We have high unemployment, skyrocketing medical costs and an infrastructure that can't handle what we have now. Just my personal opinion.

    Still waiting.....
It's been so frustrating to watch the "Timeline". When we first filed, it listed possible adjudication from Jan 22 - March 18. Today.....April 26 - June 22. Wow. Just wow.
I know it's a common theme, but it is beyond frustrating to watch certain countries receive NOA2 within a few weeks after filing, while other applicants from other countries just sit and wait. And wait.
Tired of feeling like life is on hold. Sigh.

StormHeraldEDM got a reaction from decocker in Wedding within 90 days?
My darling husband and I chose to get married on a mountain...just off a scenic overlook...with only my sister and her boyfriend as witnesses, and an officiant that we found on CraigsList. Cost us $350, including a new dress (that I have since worn many, many times) and a crisp pair of slacks for my beloved. We wrote the ceremony ourselves, and were serenaded by cactus wrens in the early morning sun. It was the happiest day of my life.
The wedding to my first husband (oh, the things we do when we're young...) was the $10k ordeal with flowers, cake, reception, choir, church, full liturgy, etc. How long did that marriage last? Less than a year. One of the major issues??? Money.
I just wanted to echo to OP what others have said - whatever you choose to do, it does not HAVE to be the full "traditional" wedding within those 90 days...unless that is what you and your lovely spouse-to-be choose it to be. My best friend's parents wed in the basement of their aunt's home, wearing their Sunday best...and the groom had to go do the evening milking of his cows shortly after, so no honeymoon for them. In their 48 years of marriage, I have never heard either of them once say, "If only we'd have spent more money on our wedding, our marriage would be better".
