Well good luck in getting in quickly, then---hope you hear something soon.

What does your online status say?  Does it say anything about being inline for your oath ceremony to be scheduled?

yes it say they put me inline for my oath ceremony to be schedule , just waiting now , but i have change name request and i am looking court ceremoines online , coming  up at 21 march , maybe can call to court to see if my name is there at 1st march .

    thank you

No one here would be able to tell you exactly when your ceremony will be, or how long you may have to wait.

If the court in your jurisdiction only does judicial oath ceremonies once a month, it all depends on how many people are ahead of you who need to be fitted into a judicial ceremony slot first.  That's the pitfall of the name change...it potentially delays things for you at the oath ceremony stage.  Hopefully you will hear something sooner, rather than later.

actually i told officer that it might delay application after interview name change and maybe i will changed my mind , he said no don't worried about it its wont delay the process and i will get oath letter in a month here in my city , so now i am waiting and no update till now . stress out losing my hair now

    thank you for quick replay

    Hello.

My wife and 3 kids applied for B2 visa on 22-2-2019 from islamabad US embassy. VO took their passports and handed them 221(g) white paper. VO said exaclty: " miss ... I am keeping your passports, i need some more information which i will email you by today reply to that email by today"

Which we did after 2 hours of email. It contains general questions like:

    Your passport numbers
    Your siblings names
    Your job in 15 years
Country visited in last 15 years source of funds etc.
    General info.

Please advise what could be the reason or outcome? We are really worried.

    Little background: 2011
    My brother was LPR.
My wife and 1 kid (had 1 kid then) applied B2 in 2011 rejected. I had valid B2 visa.

In 2013 my wife 2 kids by then applied for B2 visa. This time approved. I already had B2 again.

    Now: in 2019
    My bro is US citizen.
My wife's parents and her two 3 siblings are LPR now by F4 which they recieved in 2014-15.
I still have valid B2. Applied in 2017 and approved.

    Interview went like this:

VO: have you ever changed ur name?
Ans: yes once. (As my wife prev name was with father as surname now with my name as surname after marriage)
Vo: why you want to go to US
Ans: meet my parents my bro in law and vacations
( As from 2015 to 2018 we go every year for summer vacations for a month)
Vo: who are with you here?
    Ans: my kids
    Vo: what do u do?
Ans: i am a teacher ( although mentioned in ds form i am sponsoring her)
Vo: what do you do sir? ( As i was with them inside embassy although i had valid b2 visa)
Ans: businessman( gave details well established business so no prob in that am sure)
Vo: do you have a valid visa?
    Me: yes
Vo: pl pass me your passport.
Vo: ( after typing like ages gave my passport back to me)

Vo: ok i think thats all.
" miss ... I am keeping your passports, i need some more information which i will email you today reply to that email by today"

Thats it. Any clues please? my observation is that may be it is because of her parents or my brother they want to check for immigration status or something? As in DS form we answered we havnt applied for any immigration which in real we havent.

    Please advise.

I hope they issued the visa  soon , very hard to get B2 Visa from Islamabad , Good luck

It started off nice. I was asked about my bodily injures from the accident. Then, he went straight into the civics and English tests. Those were easy, first six I got right. Now he began asking me questions about my parents. Then, went on to my name. And boy, there were definitely questions about my name. Since my name was different from my green card and my birth certificate, I was asked questions. Very deep penetrating questions.

I had previously changed my full name via court order. The IO asked me why I changed my name. I was asked to explain why, for my first middle and last name. And he didn't accept a general reason like "oh it was for spiritual reasons." No, he asked even further, what spiritual reasons? What does the first name mean? He wanted a full on explanation for the full name. Absolutely no half-arsed answers were tolerated.

It was like I was guilty of a crime and I had to PROVE why I chose this name and why I want this name. He wanted to know what each name means. He repeatedly asked me what each name meant until I gave him a satisfactory answer. He asked me if this name was made up on a whim, and I had to repeatedly explain to him that I had planned this name for many years. He asked me what connections the last name had to family members.  At the end of it, I had now given a full description of my first, middle and last names and what spiritual meaning each name had for me along with what those names mean if you were to look them up in a name book or something.

I was even asked if my name change had anything to do with my arrest those years ago. I had to again assure him that the two are not related and that I had been planning my name change for years, way before that. In fact, his interrogation about my name was far more intense than his questions about my crime that I was arrested for!!! For the crime? Just a few short questions about what I did, and how I was sentenced. But my name, wow, so much heat I got about my name. He did have to step outside to ask someone about my sentencing, but from what I overheard, they told him it was normal.

After all that was over with, he went over the other questions on the N400, like have you ever been in a nazi group, where I live, where I work, etc etc. All very quickly.

He brought up an issue he saw in his files about my birthday, and asked me why I have two birthdays. I mean I do not ever remember having two birthdays and I told him that it must have been a mistake from years ago, cause the birthday I put on the green card and everything else is the right one, not the one he told me was the second one. It was a small issue. He didn't make a fuss about it.

After all that, he brought the little tablet screen towards me again, and I had to reaffirm that if I become a citizen, I promise to bear arms and pledge my loyalty and all that jazz. And then I had to sign on the tablet. He then showed me notes he typed up (like about my name...) and any changes or things he added to my N400, and I had to sign the tablet again.

He gave a piece of paper saying that he recommends my application for approval and that I should wait for my oath letter in the mail pending final approval.

A least he approved you that's great news

I am a Canadian citizen currently residing in India. My husband is travelling to Us Chicago in march on H1B. My plan is to join him in Chicago in April for few months and then search for job there itself. Do i need to apply for H4 visa or i can enter US on Canadian tourist status. Also once i get job then do i need to go out of US and come back on TN visa status ?

for getting a job, you need social security number which they dont issue to people on tourist visa. ... No you can not live and work in USA or any other country if you are on a tourist Visa, as it will be illegal. A tourist is not allowed to work or look for a job in the country he / she is visiting.

I'm pretty positive that their spouse did not necessarily show all their cards upfront, prior to marriage. People like that typically change once those lines have been crossed - not in the very beginning. And those very reasons you cite are among the many reasons she is staying away and seeking divorce now, I imagine.

Yes I agree , she need to stay away from him and block him on social media ,

That’s a good idea. I can tell he wants to make things a hassle because when he references of how us getting divorced is going to him over...but he loves me and wants things to work out. Bc he will be living his dream of working in America -and mention of living with me is always a secondary thought.

(even though we didn’t file ANYTHING AT ALL, because I didn’t know what to do when he started being abusive I was blindsided and making excuses for his behavior.)

How did you guys meet ? why you merry  him if you know that he have no visa and drugs addic and breaking the law of this beautiful country ?
