  1. I also have 2 middle names as is fairly common in France (are you French Canadian?). Same as yours, my green card is first name and initial of "second name" only. But I've noticed that the NOA1 I just received has my full name with both middle names. (Funny enough, they added a line "care of" with just my first and last name in the address, ie Sally Jane Mary Smith c/o Sally Smith, lol.) I expect to see both my middle names on the naturalization certificate because of that.
  2. I don't think so because I'm not receiving any election pamphlets or ballot in the mail, unlike my husband. I also made sure NOT to check the box for voter registration last time I renewed my license. But I'll check to be sure, thanks for the tip!
  3. Fingers crossed my case goes fast as well. I'm terrible at waiting! I've been unable to stop myself from checking my case status online almost daily 😳 I haven't seen a lot of recent timelines for N-400 in San Francisco so we'll see.
  4. Fingers crossed but based on recent timelines, that should be the case unless something goes wrong!
  5. Where are you located? Mine still says 6 months, I'm in SF. Those time estimates don't seem accurate at all though.
  6. Got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday and it looks like something is coming today (I have Informed Delivery with USPS). Probably the biometrics reuse notice?
  7. Haha it can't come too quick for me! I've never been good at the waiting game. I haven't seen many filers from San Francisco with recent timelines so I'm crossing my fingers. I applied under the 5-year rule so it should be pretty straightforward (no evidence of bona fide marriage required, although I'm still happily married).
  8. Nobody else filing in February? No update from me, I haven't received my NOA1 in the mail yet.
  9. I only submitted the required evidence with my application, copy of green card and marriage certificate. I was thinking of adding tax transcripts as additional evidence. Should I do the last 5 years, or all transcripts since my ROC? That would be 10 years of transcripts. Thoughts? (I filed under the 5-year rule)
  10. Yeah I realize now that with my 10-year GC expiring in April, I'll still be in this situation for a little while unless I have an extremely fast processing (hey one can dream). I got my receipt notice and biometrics reuse notice immediately after submitting my application.
  11. Starting this thread as I submitted my application this morning! I've been a LPR for 12 years but I was so unexcited about the idea of dealing with the USCIS again that I hadn't filed until now. Then time came to renew my green card and I thought, oh well, I might as well file my N-400 instead. What eventually convinced me is that citizenship applications are apparently processed much faster than I-90s! I'm the anxious kind and traveling around with an expired card and a piece of paper didn't sound great to me. Anyways, the online application was shockingly fast and easy. Now the waiting begins!
  12. Hi there! My 10-year GC is expiring in May so I need to file an I-90 for replacement, but I also want to file a N-400 to apply for citizenship (I've been eligible for a while). Should I send in my GC replacement application first? Does the timing matter? Just wondering if it's okay to file both at the same time. EDIT: I just noticed that the USCIS website says that expiring GCs are automatically extended for 24 months when you file an N-400 - is that real? Here's the wording on the website:
  13. Hi there! Back after a long absence... I have been eligible to apply for citizenship for years but couldn't find the motivation to deal with the USCIS again, lol! Anyways, I started my form online and it's asking me if I have USCIS Online Account Number. Did I not get one by creating the account necessary to file online? I can't find any number. The instructions say that it should be in the Profile section, but I don't see such a section?? I haven't dealt with the USCIS since my ROC in 2014 and apparently the online account I had back then didn't exist anymore, so I had to create a new one. Where do I find that number? Or do I not have one?? I want to be sure that I can follow my N-400 process online.
