Once you get all your stuff ready, go to Nigeria and marry her. Also take the forms to file joint taxes for next year. That will sereve as co mingling of resources for both of you. Have a copy of her ID cards, voters cards, passport informaation to send to IRS when you file next year.

Going ahead with the CR1 will "force" them to send you a NOID from CSC which you will respond to, to enable yout CR1 move forward and make them close the K1.

So my husband got to the embassy at about 6am, sent me text message that there were people were outside but the line had no started, and the quards were just about to start telling people to line up properly when he joined the crowd.

His interview was for 7am, he went through the regular document verification like interview appointment letter, and all that stuff.

He picked a number and was asked to sit, after a few hours he was called by a black man to the window, to take an oath.

Q1: Who is inviting you to the US-- He answered

Q2: How long have you known your wife--He answered

Q3: How did your wife get he citizenship--He answered

Q4: What was the reason for her divorce--He answered

Q5: Does she have any kids--He answered

My husband said he saw the bundle of evidence I had sent to NVC it was so huge, really huge. But the interviewer sort through it to look at DNA results and our certificates while he was questioning him.

After those questions he said congratulations your visa is approved, enjoy your stay in the US!

So my prayer is that it all ends well for everyone those magic words---CONGRATULATIONS YOUR VISA IS APPROVED.

I was up all night trying to call my husband becasue he said he will be on his way to the embassy at 5am. I was on my phone and tried calling him for almost 3hrs he was not answering. I said the devil is a liar my husband has slept off. I started panicking,until he picked up the phone and said he was in church praying hence he did not pick up. He is a serious catholic.

We did not get another mail from NVC to let us know it has been sent to Lagos besides the original interview notification

FB14, congrats on your expedite. you are indeed very lucky.

No one can understand your hardship except you. They say he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts. This process can be financially and emotionally draining. I have lost 2 pregnancies due to the stress of this visa journey. So I stand in awe when I hear people say pregnancy cannot qualify for expedite. Some lucky people have smooth pregnancies, but that is not true for everyone.

Whether the pregnancy was planned or not is another story, but when it happens you must do everything in your power to protect it.

If along the way you find out you need your spouse and the process hastened up, please by all means request an expedite. Like others said you never receive if you do not ask.

My husband did his medicals on monday, risking leaving work and getting there as early as 7am only to be told he had to pay additional money for vaccines he already took for his previous K1 visa.

I am in the medical field too, and I know these vaccines last for a few number of years. Yes, just like was already pointed out, we are not going to give a reason for the CO to deny us, hence the reason he went ahead to pay the money for vaccines he took already. Who takes MMR every 2yrs????

He went to Lagos this morning to go pick up the result and they told he it has to be after 4pm. Information he was not told over the phone. He was furious and demanded to speak with the Dr. The Dr came out and said "Sir were you told over the phone pick up was after 4pm?" He said no sir, I came from Ibadan this morning, left work becuase the lady told me over the phone the result was ready for pick up, but was never informed of the time. The Dr made the lady leave what she was doing and they gave him his result.

I said na wa, when will all these waste end? If not God on his side he would have returned to Ibadan empty handed.

Cannot wait for all these heartaches to be over. Lord have mercy!

Seems we are off to an early start.

So I received an RFE from NVC today advising me that my wife's BC was from the "Wrong Issuing Authority" I know that this is definately incorrect being that ensured that my wife got it from the same place that we attained hers and mine when we submitted the original I-130. I followed the link from their website for country specific documents and i ensured to verify that i do have correct one being that i made a copy of it and it is definately legalized!! The only thing that stands out on the website it states the following:

Domincan civil documents used for visa purposes must be legalized at the Oficina Central del Estado Civil, the main civil registry office in Santo Domingo.

Again it is Legalized!! however the registry office is not in Santo Domingo but she went to Santiago which is the same place we went to legalize the other documents!!(that were accepted)

Called NVC and all I can do is put in a Service Request? #######!!? REALLY!!? Now I have to wait 15 business days for them to review it. That now puts me at October 24 now!!

Anyone have any Idea if i can call back and speak with anyone else?

We got the same checklist for birth cert, just keep calling and reminding them it is from the appropriate authority, then follow up with email to the supervisor. You should get response in a couple of days.

Dwheels, I think that was very smart of you to do, we had over 8lbs worth of evidence and trust me it is a lot of work putting your name and number on all the pages. My husband usually sends us package from UNILAG and it gets to us in a week. If he sends it from Ibadan we usually get it in 2 weeks.

I hope your package arrives soon so you can come on over to NVC.

My guess is your package will be about 8lbs or slightly over?.
