  1. Yes, that should be possible, of course, you cannot apply until after your taken the Oath, but once you have done that you will be pay through the nose for expediated service :)

How much more it will cost for the expedited service? How long does it take for the regular processing of the passport?

  2.    OK guys!!! I have good news!!!!   I was approved on February 28, 2012!!!!  My husband is in Air Force, and he is deployed now :crying: :crying: :crying: Therefore only today I found out that there is Military Help line for Military personnel and for military immediate family (spouses and kids). So I called them, and they were super nice to me, and told me that I was approved on February 28!!! and they are scheduling me for the biggest oath ceremony with Mayor and etc. The guy on the phone did not know when is the ceremony, but he told me that it is good that I scheduled the Infopass as I can ask the local office if they knew the date  I am so happy!!!! But of course I will be more happy when I receive the oath letter

Congrats Elmira. You were worried for nothing and went through all that stress. Now you can relax and enjoy the moment. I am flying back to US on 4/14 from Caribbean so I can attend my Oath Ceremony on 4/20/2012.

  3. Hello everybody,

I am residing in the state of Michigan. This is what I received through e-mail:

"On March 14, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling".

I have not heard nor received any further communication regarding my interview appointment, time, location, etc... yet.

I was wondering if there is any other "Michigander" in the same boat I am in????

    Thanks much.

Normally it might take them 7-14 days for you to receive the letter. They say wait for 15 days before calling them. I would say before end of this week you might get your letter.

  4. I looked into my Oath Ceremony letter and they asked me to bring the Green Card and Re-Entry Permit. Did not say any thing about the passport. If you have a passport then you can take it with you. I don't think they care so much about the old passport. New Passport should be enough for them to check and see if you travelled since your interview.

  5. I apologize in advance. I am sure this has already been covered but I did do a search and also read the FAQ but I am still confused.

My wife's CR-1 was approved and she entered US on 9/25/2009. Her conditional-removal application was approved on 3/22/12 (4 days ago).

Per the citizenship requirement, she will have to be a Permanent Resident for a minimum of three years before applying. Now, does this "three-year" count since her entry to the US or since her conditional removal?

From the date she received the Green Card or became LPR. It is 3 years but I believe you can apply 90 days before the 3 years. Search on the forum and you can find more details.

  6. Hello and how are you doing?

First of all, congrats on getting done with your interview.

I need to ask a quick question in regards to sending your package.

I sent my about a week ago and nothing has been back yet to me via email/txt/mail.

How long did it take for u to receive your NOA?

I saw "snail's mail"(LOL) in ur journey..should I just lay back and hope and pray that I get it in another wee or two?

Usually you'll receive NOA with in 2 weeks. Some times could take longer. Did you send the form for the txt message along the application? If now you have to wait until you receive your NOA and register online to receive text messages.

  7. My wife called me and we got the letter with Oath Ceremony Date. It is scheduled for 4/20/2012. Currently I am scheduled to come home on 4/22/2012. Now I have to see what I can do to complete my finals in the med school early and fly back to US on 4/18 or 4/19 and attend the ceremony on 4/20. I am glad things are finally coming together.

  8. Ok guys I know I am inpatient    but I made an Infopass appointment today for April 5th. I know that it is only 1 month passed since my Interview, but the officer told me that the decision will not take longer than 2 weeks, and all my immigrant friends here in Orlando got their approval and oath letters same day they had interview. I know for sure local USCIS office has Oath ceremonies every Friday, so I don't think they are super packed.   I hope I will have some good news before April 5th, but if not at least I will check what is happening, and if they give me the same story about 180 days processing time, my husband is ready to write a letter to Congressman. I know we shouldn't panic or get upset. But my husband is deployed now and is very disappointed that Government agency treats him like that.  He cannot understand that some people wait even longer as he is US born citizen and never had immigration issues before he met me   But for now I will patiently wait for April 5th    Congratulations to everyone who got their approval/ oath letters

Hang in there, you'll get it. You are almost there. I felt the same way like you felt and finally they sent me the email and waiting for the letter to come.

  9. Ok so after all of this I finally got scheduled for the Oath!!! Yaaay.

But guess what i also got a speeding ticket last week, I will pay the ticket but i will also have to indicate in on N-445. Is this going to be ok, or will my process be delayed??

Cant believe this happened to me!!!

As long as the fine is under $500 traffic tickets should not matter.

  10. Just now received the email. They have scheduled me for the Oath Ceremony.

I have to wait for the letter to come to find out when and where the Ceremony is scheduled for.

Application Type: N400 , APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

    Your Case Status: Oath Ceremony

On March 21, 2012, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  11. Of course, if you SS card is old enough that my immigration status is *not* on it, you can tell them not to generate a replacement card. I showed my passport card as proof of citizenship and told him not to generate a new card, as it was not necessary.

How old is your card? I received my card in 1981. Should I ask for the new card or current card is enough?

  12. Checking my emails from the USCIS, format is firstname.lastname@dhs.gov. Know this is perfectly valid as the persons name on it was the same person I spoke to on the phone.

Received faked emails many times, can use tricks to put a false email address in the context of the email, but not in the header.

Curious as to what that document is, but no details on how you applied, marriage or five year, criminal record? With over 5,000 cases pending now after receiving naturalization for possible faults, could very well be a real email. You should know if any trouble areas exist, rest of us are just guessing.

From the OP post it says to bring ID and Naturalization Certificate. Is it possible they want to take the Certificate back from OP? I thought there is a legal process to revoke the Citizenship and can be lengthy to revoke USC once it is approved. From what I understand with they can revoke USC status at any time in the future for possible violations of US laws and they made it easier to approve USC and easier to take away the USC.
