I guess I was nervous! I couldn’t remember the answer to the questions. But this time I feel I’m ready
Try "USCIS civis test study tools" one from USCIS dept of homeland security. Don't try to memorize the answers as you will get nervous again and will eventually be lost in a thin air. Your problem is not English but when the IO looks at you and ask the question you try to shake your head for the answers because you have a tendency to get nervous. Don't do that. Go through all the questions as it is a story to you. Who's the president and his cabinet, and congress, senate. US flag has a name "star spangled banner" like everyone else has one. constitution is all about laws and no one is above the law. There are 27 bill of rights which is also called 27 amendments. 1776 declaration of independence written by Thomas Jefferson (don't forget this name as he is one of the founding fathers). Exactly eleven years later meaning in 1787, constitution was written by founding fathers. When we say who's the father of our country, that's George Washington, so if he's the father, he had to be the first president and matter of fact he was. Do you see the pattern here. now go ahead download the app and have fun. I am sure you will ace the civic test this time. By the way, IO only asks 5 questions the max and don't feel you are ready, you got to be ready 100% Good luck!!!!!

probably little backed up? Interview is the hardest part which you have done with. But yes! it sucks to wait for all this to be over for good. I hope you hear something on oath ceremony scheduling soon. Keep us posted!!!!!!
mine is scheduled in second week of May.

OATH Ceremoney scheduled. About time! lol. Who else is still waiting for an oath ceremony to be scheduled.
-
The system only gets updated if an auto script runs (IT terms) or some human intervention occurs.
Two things will most likely happen. Whether they will further do a quality review on the recommendation of approval that IO did in your favor, or just simply approved you and schedule oath ceremony.
From my understanding the next status you are probably going to see is "quality review on your case" But it ain't bad at all. It is just a regular process and once they are done with quality review check, you should be going to an oath ceremoney. All in all congratulations you are almost there. Don't panic and chill!!!!!

Both.
There is no YES / NO questions in civic test. They either ask you to answer verbally or want you to write down the entire answer. In your N400 applications, there are a set of questions which you marked either yes or no when you were filling up your N400 application. For example "have you been ever detained or arrested?" IO may ask you the same question and would want to see the same response as dictated already in your application either yes or no.
Make sure you are well prepared with civic test. There is this app USCIS: study test tool. Download it on your phone and go through with all the questions. There are some questions that you may not find answers as it is related to the state you live in. Questions like who's the governor of your state, who's the senator of your state. To find the answers on these questions click on the link right below to that question in the app. Let me know if anything.

Which Yes/No did they ask?
are you asking about the civic related question or from the N400 application?

That was quick. So you got the first 6 correct? They asked all Yes/No questions from the application?
they don't normally asked all of them in yes / no format. It depends what question he may be asking you though.

@LEXUSdRIVER2908 I had my Interview on the 12, went fairly easy, the guy was nice enough to fixed the errors i made on my applications. 6 questions in civic tests which i passed with flying colors. He looked into the system and told me that your photos are old and was taken back in 2013 so i need to bring two new photos. He asked me to go to cvs and get done with this on the spot. it took me 45 minutes gave him the photos. The last question was if i wanted to change my name for which i said YES and he made changes to my application and said that the judge will do it for you on the day of your OATH ceremony. In the last i was told that i should be be getting a written decision in 2 to 3 weeks. Since then there was no online update until when i logged back in today and found a new update.
"We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE, be approved. On March 19, 2024, your case was submitted for quality review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. Once our quality review is done you will be scheduled for an oath ceremony. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address".

Human is made to make mistakes but I wouldn't call it IO mistake. Their input gets checked and rechecked before it submits online.

Anyone else still waiting for an interview? I'm still waiting since Sept 18th and it seems like they skipped over me. Heartbreaking
Your turn should be coming up soon. Their interview scheduling is all varies case by case. Mark08 and I both filed same time same FO but his interview was scheduled in November if iim not wrong and mine scheduled this year Feb for March.

Went for interview today, everything went well quick interview but then the io said no decision could be made at this time need to wait up to 6 weeks for a decision to be made. An hour later I checked my case on line & it had updated to “case has been recommended for approval” then “oath ceremony will be scheduled”. I am so confused. Do you think the io made a mistake when updating my online status? Is it possible I am not actually approved? I called customer service girl
just basically read what was written online & told me to call back after 90 days if no oath is scheduled? Has this happened to anyone before?
It appears that the IO re-visited his / her review after taking your Interview and recommended your case for approval followed by Oath Ceremony. Sometime they don't make decision right away and may require more time to review their decision. To me, IO made the decision but probably wanted to ask supervisor to double check if things are in order. I would say Congratulations!!!!!. You should be getting your Oath date soon.

Just had my interview today at Newark. I was scheduled at 11:15 but wasn't called until like 1PM. Interview probably took 10 mins. It was such a breeze. After I took swore, he told me there will be no same day ceremony today due to staff meeting. I said no problem. asked for my passport, GC, and Driver License. Gave it back after confirming everything. anyhow, I cant remember what questions he asked me ( I BLANKED OUT ) LOL but I did ask him to repeat one question which was " what is one right only for United States citizens " and I was able to answer it correctly. For writing he made me read " Who was the first president " made me write Washington was the first president. After that, just a bunch of yes and no question from the N400. After that, he said congratulations.
Walked me out and thanked him for his service because he was in the military back in the day. The wait is finally almost over. Just gtta wait for the letter now for when I will take the Oath Ceremony. Maybe it will start to hit me when I do the Oath ceremony. My case just updated too.
Oath Ceremony Cancelled February 21, 2024 Your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, was placed in line for oath ceremony scheduling. February 21, 2024 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. February 21, 2024

There you go @MunnoTheCat !!! Glad to see things finally speeding up for you as well.
Interesting how we filed around the same time and had the same field office and got completely different timelines. I guess it often varies on case by case basis.
Either way - I found a few people on the FB N-400 group that said they waited around 2-3months for their oath after being interviewed at the Holtsville office. And it is the same in my case. So it may also be the same in your case. But at least its moving forward.
Good luck!!
Thanks Mark. . you are right it varies case to case. I don't wanna jinx it but i really want this process speed up a little bit and bring me to OATH stage faster lol. I want to know how long was your Interview?, was it crazy busy? any do's and don'ts. best place to read about civic test qestions?

What i heard that Sacramento CA FO is backed up!
"I have other friends who already had their interviews and citizenship completed when applied a few months later than me. I am currently in Sacramento CA area. Anyone else in the same boat?"
Your friends and others may have been dealt with other FO offices which are less busy than yours. Every FO operation and workload is different than others. But since it has been over 7 months, you should hear something soon. Every case varies, some goes faster, some requires extra checking. But hang in there, you may be next in line for an Interview. It is been 7 months, and you haven't received any RFE already, which indicates that you may be receiving an Interview notice soon. Keep us posted!
