I am not sure.  I have had conflicting information on that.  I do know my coworkers husband had his interview in March and the officer actually asked him why she wasn't there.  It's odd because she isn't even a citizen and hasn't applied yet.  She was at the hotel.  He still passed an all but I thought that was odd.  I guess I can offer to go get him out of the parking lot if they ask haha

LOL - I might do that too! “Well officer, he’s in the parking lot in a car with such and such license plate…would you like to meet him?” 🤣

I have everything sorted and ready to go!  Hopefully I don't forget anything!   I am so nervous!    I keep mixing up a few of the questions, just hope & pray I don't freak out and blank on everything!!   It will all be fine, I am sure!

Oh gosh, I mix a couple up too! I’m making Travis quiz me on the drive over tomorrow, so that it’s all fresh (my short term memory is great but long term is pretty bad lol). I’m trying to keep myself from being too nervous…😬

     I am Canadian too.
I just had my joined naturalization interview and removing condition interview. All they need is your American ID: Driver license, State ID to verify your identity.  She didn't even look at my passport. Though i did left the USA for a week after i submitted my N-400 form, she still didn't look at my passport. I just said that I went to Mexico for a week. They have all travel data in the computer.
Bring your expired Canadian passport. No need to get a new one.

Perfect! This is very helpful - I’ll relax a bit now.😊

Of course it was worth it! All the best for your interview!😃👍🍀

Thank you so much! We are both kind of excited… 🥰

Just take the passports you have.  Don't worry about the rest.  I was very uncomfortable discarding the documents we had collected during our journey since 2016.  That's what USCIS did to my brain...LOL...but I am so happy, now, to be out from under the thumb of USCIS.

I'm finishing up with printing my tax transcripts, and am going to start to breathe again soon.  LOL.  We have got so many stacks of paper for them in our basement filing cabinet...sometimes I ask Travis if he's still convinced I was worth all the time/effort/money this took (he always laughs and says I was. :) )

I didn't say they want the old passport to verify lawful status.

This is directly from interview letter:

"You MUST BRING the following with you to the interview:

    • This letter. • Your Alien Registration Card ("green card").

    • Any evidence of Selective Service Registration.

    • Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States.

    • Those items noted below which are applicable to you:"

Of course, you can't bring what you don't have.....

Our IO even wanted to see wife's ADIT stamp.....

Jeez…that’s a lot. I sure hope they don’t want that in my case! (And it’s going to be AMAZING to be able to finally shred the stacks and stacks of application documents we have kept for 11 years, lol…)

One of the comments above is incorrect: they don't need it to verify your legal entry to the US, it's just a 2nd form if ID + proof that you have another nationality.

By the time I had my Oath ceremony, I was on my 3rd passport which was completely blank 😅

LOL! Well, that’s a relief! I’m bringing my Canadian birth certificate too, just in case they question why the passport is expired (proof that I was conferred Canadian citizenship at birth, lol).

Tax transcripts were not mentioned on my application and were not mentioned in my notice of interview. However, I saw them mentioned on a list of documents for N400. Should I bring them anyway, just in case?

They just want to see the passport you have used to enter the US.  No need to have an unexpired one.  Good luck!!  There is light at the end of the USCIS tunnel!!

This one doesn’t have the visa sticker in it - the Canadian passport office kept that one when I renewed it in 2016. It does have my re-entry stamp though (I went home for a month when my father was dying). That will work, right?

Thank you!! My in-laws have been quizzing me on civics every time I see them, they’re so excited. 🥰

its just another form of photo ID plus proof of approved visa

the receptionist desk is the only place u will show this

sometimes 2 photos ID"s are required

Oh ok, so green card/passport/Virginia drivers license covers all those bases. Perfect!

If they ask just tell them why you don't have it.  It should be fine!  I don't know what I need to bring because I applied for 5 year rule since I had been here so long but maybe I should have did 3 year since I am still married.  I was confused about that.  I'll bring my husbands docs anyway, just in case they ask.

The appointment letter I received had a list of what to bring on it. We just have to find my husband’s birth certificate and we will be all set. The list should be on the second page of the letter, if it helps?

I think I'll be fine if they don't reject anything.   I was not happy with my picture but sent it anyway.  There was a small shadow on one side of my neck.  I should have asked the guy to redo it but I didn't at the time.  I don't know why I didn't just ask him to retake it!!

I don't think they will care if it is expired.  I do have an expired one that I can bring but it is not the one I used for the 2 trips I made home over the past 10 years.

I don’t imagine they’ll reject anything. From what I understand, the big deal at this interview is if we can speak English, and if we can pass the civics portion. It should be ok!

I hope they take my passport. I don’t have my original one with the visa in it, because it expired when I went home in 2016 to visit my father (he was sick). I renewed it before I came back, and Canada kept my old one…😬

haha.. I want it over that's for sure!  I've been studying some but will have to get more serious!  Been using the flash cards on citizen now app.  I am freaking out because I sent my passport off for renewal to Canada!  No clue if I will get it back in time for the interview!!

Yikes, that could be tight! I have only my expired passport but I’m not going to risk renewing it now unless I really have to (then I’ll rush it lol). Is it bad if it’s expired?
