So...after we decided not to leave our home, we started renovating our living room. Happy surprise - found hardwood floor underneath our carpet!
-
...flight back to Canada leaves in 18 days. Travis hopefully follows within 3-4 months...
-
Ahhhh Coffee Crisp...found these in the local grocery store in middle of nowhere southwest VA. Label even says "distributed by Nestle Canada, made in Canada." Just as good as I remembered!
-
Well, after all the stress of getting here Trav and I are looking (for many reasons) at moving home to Canada. Only obstacle is selling our house...here goes nothin!
-
Tires checked, fluids topped up, truck all ready and driving buddy for Trav picked up. Next stop - Charlotte (after a nap)!
-
Wow...an unexpected and awesome effect of my move to VA is that my family back home is becoming closer to me than ever...happy tears!
-
Additional information all ready to go. Left all staples and stamps in place so they could see they were working on my file. Let's hope they don't lose page 3 this time...(verified that I DID originally send everything, but THEY lost a page!)

Gosh, at this rate it looks like my I-751 ended up gathering dust in a box before it even got opened. Check not cashed, no NOA1, no word of anything...not a good start to the wait!
-
I-751 package received by USCIS last Wed. Check not cashed, no NOA1...starting to worry. Also worried about biometrics - want to do a walk in at a different office, not sure that's allowed. SIGH.

Enough of this shoveling. I'm building a snowman to greet Trav when he gets home

Somehow, I don't think February in Virginia is supposed to be anything like December/January in Manitoba. Off to shovel snow, and grumble...LOL!
-
Sure feels weird to be back here...ROC, here we come...guess I should have started it before now but hey, paperwork = my friend...
-
Have been home for almost 3 months, and it's still SO good to be here The long and sometimes tough "Visa Journey" sure makes you appreciate the little things once it's all done...
-
Well...it's my first American birthday and from the looks of things I'll be spending it cleaning...lol! On the upside, got enrolled for university and got financial aid...yay!
-
Second day at home, and it feels incredible...
-
Cleared POE, just waiting to fly home...Doesn't feel surreal anymore - this feels amazing! I can hug Travis tonight!
-
in about 11 hours I'll be nearing the airport, preparing for POE. Excited, but so nervous...
