Called NVC today and they said our 130 has been expedited. They said they sent request to Manila for processing, however they do not know how long it could take in Manila. Does anyone know if I can call the embassy and find out or if there is a time frame for this type of expedited processing?
-
haha, ok Darnell....well let me follow up with this. Our 130 visa was expedited as per NVC. They said they sent request to Manila for processing, however they do not know how long it could take in Manila. Does anyone know if I can call the embassy and find out?
-
Thanks Darnell....you rock
-
uhm.. are you looking to do NVC doc intake for the Visa Application?
or chase after an expedite at NVC, bypassing the NVC Doc Intake process altogether ?
choice of path determines 'the next steps'.
Darnell...well my congressmans office got involved and within 2 weeks the expedite she did was pushed through and approved. She said she will do the NVC expedite as well, but she is on vaca until 6 Jan. I was going to call NVC this morning but I won't if it will muck it up if the congressmans aide will push for an expedite.
Nope!
This is an immigrant visa, I-130, NVC will setup the interview date. The medical and CFO are the same but the process and requirements for the interview are different
Thanks Hank.
Hey Capt'n Ron!!
As I emailed ya most of the process is different then with the K-1.
Doing a search this is all I could find relating to your step son, hope there is some info that will help.

Hey Hank, yes I received the PM...started looking through it. Got busy with Zoie getting a cold....thanks a lot buddy. As I told a poster above, the congressmans office aide that I've been working with will do a expedite on the NVC process as well, but not until she gets back to the office next monday, so I am not sure If I should just sit tight or what? Thanks again Hank.
-
Well 'years past' not 'years ago'.....as in 3 years past, lol...will check out Hanks page. Actually I know Hank pretty well, although I've done spoken to him as of late. Thanks for your help though bud.

Wait about a week from your notification USCIS and begin calling the NVC to get your MNL #. I found the best time to call NVC is at 7:05 am as they will usually pickup on the first or second ring. Once you have the number then you can begin to pay and schedule the interview. Follow this link to Hank's handy dandy guide. It will answer most questions and give you step by step instructions.
http://visaconnection-philippines.com/# then go to "NVC ~ USEM Process"
Good luck.
Thanks bud....is the process the same at this stage for K1 and 130? The visa process? I've done the k1 in years past....

Hey, finally our sons 130 was approved the other day and sent to NVC in NH. It shows what to expect next, etc. But in relaity what happens next, IOW, can we start to schedule his interview....?
-
thanks guys....yea its great, finally. We had a congressmans office get involved, calling Nebraska, and that seems to have sped things up, or maybe not, but all I know is it was finally approved.
The congressmans office person I've been dealing with said she is following up to the NVC for expedite as there are some things going on to justify an expedite, so I hope that helps as well.

We say, thank you so much friend...will do.....
Yes please go to the NVC filers thread and read post #1 and #2 has all you need to know. Congratulations!!

hey guys, our 130 for my step son was approved. We received the text, went online to ck and it shows approved and to wait for letter....that said, does anyone know the next steps to be taken, generally?
-
We are March filers and received a case xfer a month ago....actually the person who posted it said it didn't matter, ALL are getting expedited. As I said, I called my Congressman's office and she didn't even ask what part of the Philippines, she said the TPS was for entire country.
My stepson lives with his lola and lolo in Cebu, so they are affected, but not like other areas.
Call your congressmans office perhaps?
-
Hey Hank..all is well my friend. Zoie will have fun for sure. She isn't quite 7 months yet but she's 23 lbs....a big girl for sure. Hows life in Hanks world?
-
Saw this on a friends facebook.....I called our Congressman's office up and they confirmed that the Philippines are now a TPS and all 1-130's are being expeditied, or are in the process of being moved to expedited status....she gathered all my info and is following up with the Nebraska USCIS office which is handling our 130.....good luck to all.

Hey y'all....been a while since we've posted. Well the wife has her 10 year green card and is set, whooo hoooo. We have a 6 month old baby girl who is the most awesome baby ever. So life is going great
We, actually it was I that filed the I-130 for my stepson who is still living with my wifes mom and dad in the Philippines, (he just turned 4 last month). I filed it in March, so its been 8 months now.
Yesterday we received an update on the uscis.gov website, it stated:
On November 6, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
Now I know we can just wait for the letter, however I wanted to ask if anyone here has received an update such as this? Is it normal? Good? bad? nobody knows?
Figured I'd update those who know me and ask a few questions while here.
thanks in advance.

PP123 and Serenity, thanks for the great info...still reading through it all.....I did gloss over it. I noticed the visa issue even for the IR visas could take a few days, or a month? That is a big unknown for us and how to plan travel.
-
Thanks, trying to find it now. I see the IR1 guide, but not for a step child.

Hey everyone...my wife and I recently had our baby girl, Zoie, about a month ago. We are now in the process of applying for my step son, (my wifes boy), to come here with us. She didn't bring him when she first came here 3 years ago, its a long story.
He is almost 5 and lives in Cebu with the grandparents, (lolo and lola for you Pinoys and Pinays).
We've sent the 130 and its in the process already. But looking ahead for his Visa, it appears its a IR2. Reading on the IR visa, it states: Once an I-130 petition is approved, the National Visa Center (NVC) in the United States notifies the petitioner and provides guidance on how the Filipino spouse and children can apply for IR1 and IR2 visas, respectively. The NVC schedules the the applicant(s) for an interview and forwards the approved petition to the Embassy in Manila. The NVC will likewise notify the applicant(s) when they are scheduled to report for the medical examination and visa interview.
I've only done the K visa but this is something I did not expect to read...I thought with the K visa we did all of that on our own...is my memory flawed?
-
Yup read same thing.

Trying to join this group.....hey y'all....Im the USC, my wife is in the ROC phase of her process. We have our own little baby girl and she has her son, my step son, living with her parents in the Philippines. He is 4.
We've filed the 130 for my step son and its in the second phase currently.
With the birth of our daughter about a month ago, we are a bit behind on current reading for my step son and the process as it looks like he will be an IR2 visa? I was reading a linke supplied to me last night and it stated that the interview and medical is scheduled HERE via the USCIS office and they are the ones that contact the offices in Manila and St Lukes....I've never heard of this before, can this be accurate info?
-
-
He is 4 so the CFO and Peer counseling do not apply in this case. Is not an IR visa for spouses and a K4 for children?
-
Hey all...long time no post. Well my wife and I and our little baby daughter, Zoie, plan to fly to Cebu to pick up my step son later this year. I've already filed the 130, its in the review phase, looks good so far.
I filed it with him as my step son and me as the USC.
We are trying to figure an approx time frame we will need in Manila to do the interview/med/visa etc......anyone able to ballpark it?
-
Thanks guys...well we will do the I-130 process, regardless..I was just reading about the K4 and wasn't sure if it would apply in this case, guess not, lol.
-
Been doing some reading about bringing my step son here from the Philippines on a I-130, he is 4 years old. I am the USC, my wife is doing her ROC 795 as we speak, its been filed and she was given the 1 year extension.
I was reading on USCIS where it seems once the 1-130 and other forms are filed, we can apply for a K4 visa for him to come to the US while awaiting his papers to process. I know generally speaking its very difficult, if not impossible, for Filipinas to secure a tourist visa, or any visa to US other than the 129F. Has anyone heard, or actually accomplished a K4 visa for their child while awaiting the I-130 process?
139 expedited at NVC and sent to Manila.

Actually to make it clear, they sent the request to Manila to be expedited...it has to ba approved by USEM....and again, no time frame from what they said.
