Calling DOS for finding out an interview date is useless in my opinion. You're certainly most likely to get info from NVC first than from those folks. The way I see it is, they just serve as a back up to corroborate information that NVC already has. Nothing else nothing more

Kerry & Carl got a reaction from Saylin in NVC Filers - June 2012
It usually takes a few days for the e-mails to be sent out. One with the case information and one with the AOS billing information. Once you get the AOS invoice e-mail, your AOS bill should be ready to be paid so check the payment portal then.
I would send the DS-3032 e-mail now. Just make sure to check with NVC that it was received and accepted in the next day or so. I had problems with my Choice of Agent being accepted (had to submit it again) and it slowed me down by 2 weeks in completing my case, since it delayed the release of our IV bill.

You have to ask them for the Invoice Identification Number. When I finally got our case number, I asked for my Invoice Identification Number as well during that call.
Don't ask for your "IIN", they won't know what you're asking for. If you call back and ask for it, hopefully you'll get someone who will give it to you. Some of them don't want to give it out and tell you to wait for the e-mail (if you've given over your e-mail addresses). Just call back again and ask the next rep you get. One of them is bound to give it to you.

Yes, the IV bill has to appear as Paid and then the DS-260 will be available for you to fill out.

You should get your AOS package ready to go, but don't send it until your AOS bill shows as "Paid". The IV bill has nothing to do with your AOS package.

Kerry & Carl reacted to Cathi in 5 months and still waiting
It does not always fly at the NVC...We were at the NVC much longer than we should have been because of several errors made on their part. The fact of immigration is that every case is different. No one can tell you how long any part of this process will last, we can only estimate based on other people's time lines. Cases are not done in any particular order, and once it gets past the NVC stage each consulate has different requirements and different ways they schedule things. Try not to compare your case so much to others. you will drive yourself insane. All you can do is hope for the best. Good luck

I've attached a link to Saylin's DS-230 supplemental sheet for her visits to the U.S. Use it as a guide for adding your previous employment, replace the point number (35) with the appropriate number for the information you are adding. Use everything else you see (Header with Petitioner & Beneficiary D.O.B., case number, etc.) on the page.

If you have any other questions about that, let me know and I'll try to help as best I can. These forms are a headache and I was able to do the online one!
Good luck!!

Kerry & Carl reacted to RickJovi in cr 1 visa denied
This person isn't real and is just playing games with everyone. If you noticed he keeps repeating the same idiotic questions throughout all of the pages. Seems to me like a game and not real. Just my two cents. There is no way he could ever make it to the Philippines living on only $7,000 a year disability unless he has a secret saving account before he went on disability. Don't entertain him anymore please.

WOW!! Neela, try to be open minded. I'm Canadian and have lived in both Canada (ALL over the country) and the United States. There are MANY polite and decent Americans, just as there are MANY rude and offensive Canadians. You and your husband went through a lot to make this move happen and heading into it with that mindset is going to make your adjustment more difficult. I hope you will find that you are pleasantly surprised, more often than not, in your new home.

Soooo, our IV bill appeared as PAID early this afternoon! My DS-260 has been completed (reviewed by me at least 10 times and by my Hubby at least 5) and submitted. Supporting documents e-mail has been sent and auto-response from NVC has been received. Yaaaaay!!! As prepared as I was to complete the DS-260, it took longer than I expected and my brain is drained now!
Feels really good to have that done!! Now to wait for our "Case Complete"!!!

Go to the top of the page and beneath your name, you'll see "Settings", "Sign Out", and "Help".
Click on "Settings".
A new page opens and you should see: "Settings", "Forums", "Profile", "Links", "Chat".
Select the "Forums" tab, then select "Manage watched topics".
Click on the checkbox for "NVC Filers - April 2012" and change your options by selecting from the dropdown menu below it ("Unsubscribe" should be what you see there).
If you don't want to completely unsubscribe from notifications, select "Delayed notifications". That's what I have selected so I don't get an e-mail every time someone posts, but do receive a few each day.

Kerry & Carl reacted to Paisaman in Paisaman's I-130 CSC Statistics
Oh.. Don't you know?? They *do* process in the order they are received. *BWAHAHAHA*
Notes from their Ombudsman (applies to refugee processing, but applicable):
Umm. So yeahhh.. I guess its possible that background checks for Colombia take a long long long time, but my guess is still that really it isn't FIFO its that agents grab a batch and some clear them some don't. Each agent is grabbing a few hundred apps and some are fast and some are on vacation (in my case apparently).
I will be positive. I will be true. I will be patient. I will receive my I130 soon.
Good luck all. FIFO or not, the apps are getting done. Your time will come and so will your loved ones.
