Hooray - us August filers can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Have a safe trip!
Paisaman, if you need any help in recording case number progress, please let me know. The information you post here is super helpful, thank you!

I have been married for less than 2 months but I honestly feel that the physical separation from my wife is really putting me to the test. Last night on Skype she said something that struck my mind. She said she understands my frustration and that she feels the same, because basically the "same as before we got married" and get this, that in someway is like if we were a boyfriend and girlfriend on a long distance relationship.
That husband and wife get marry to lice together but in our case things are just the same as always because we are away from each other. I didn't want to misinterpret her words but I'm feeling hurt because I'm taking what she says as I'm a fake husband, or that our marriage is not real because we are physically apart. Dont know what to do and this is killing me.
Any thoughts or advise are greatly appreciated
Hi, sounds like you're having a difficult moment with your wife. This process is FULL of difficult moments, and the distance does add an unconventional aspect to a marriage. I, too, sometime feel like my relationship has reverted back to boyfriend/girlfriend because we were doing long distance for 2/3 of our relationship together. However, I know that sometimes you have to understand that people will express the stress and sadness in different ways, but it doesn't change the love that is there. Stay strong and focus on each other and it will make all the difference, because really it's all you have. Good luck on this crazy journey of ours.

Hi everyone-
I have a question in regards to the next step. I have prepared most of the paperwork needed for the next step so that I'm ready to go once our 1-130 is finally approved. But, is it going to matter that the dates on the letters and things (employment letters, etc...) are from Nov. or Dec.? If we don't end up getting approved until March or so, am I going to need more recently dated items?
Hope you are all hanging in there-
Lauren
Hi Lauren,
I spoke with my lawyer about this, and he told me that I should get updated letters from our co-sponsor's employer (mine were from August) and/or recent pay stubs. That's essentially the only time-sensitive document we have.

200 days tomorrow and no touches. Once again, I started punching in random WACxxx's until I picked a dozen I-130's from early June 2011, and they're in initial review too. I'm going to stop looking at the website for awhile because it's gotten frustrating
I totally know what you mean, and I'm not even close to 200 days. Have you tried putting in a service request/writing to congressperson?

Hi, I called the USCIS 800 number. Is there a difference if you call CSC?
-
and, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but they told me that CSC is officially processing July 12th.
And the tip about staying on the line until a Spanish speaking rep really worked--Tier I said they couldn't answer my question so they transferred me without any problems! Thanks!

Congratulations everyone on your good news! Hopefully this means things will start to pick up for later filers.

I didn't say to call CSC. What I said was to call the department head or agency that is over CSC. If USCIS is going to adhere to their website time lines and there is a gross difference between what they state and what is actually happening then someone ought to be concerned there. At least from an administrative and supervisory perspective.
If someone's boss keeps getting calls, or some boss's boss keeps getting calls he has more incentive to crack some heads on the local managers/supervisors who are letting their troops slip so egregiously.
The head of the USCIS is Alejandro Mayorkas. His email address is alejandro.mayorkas@dhs.gov and listed phone number at USCIS headquarters is (202)-272-1000. Just a thought--I'm thinking about drafting a letter to him.

Hi everyone, I filed a few weeks ago for and was feeling pretty good about things, but recently I've been feeling like getting my husband to the states is going to be an impossibility. Like there is just no light at the end of the tunnel and we'll be denied at the embassy no matter what. Has anyone else gone through this at all? I have such crazy anxiety and have been waking up during the night from dreams about the petition. I really feel for everyone out there going through this process.

Hi everyone,
I'm not savvy enough to know how to merge two topics...can someone do me the honors?

Thank you!

Thanks, AAraxian. You too! My package was routed to California, and I've been seeing mixed comments on how fast it is taking for processing.
I know, which makes the process even more maddening. I'm just trying to stay busy to keep my mind off of it!

I sent my pacakage on September 12th and USCIS officially received it on September 14th. I received an email on the 15th and my NOA1 came in the mail on the 19th. We'll see where it goes from there.
Good luck! Which service center did you get routed to?
-
I filed the 26th. And my petition was received the 27th. Have you received your NOA1 yet?
No, and I haven't received an email or text saying that my petition was received either. I don't know if this is common or not.
-
Hi everyone,
Sorry if there is already a post for September, but we filed our I-130 September 21st of this month and I'd like to know if there is anyone else out there that has filed this month.
Best of luck to everyone!
-
Thank you for your help! So when it says "NOA2" it means there was a second notice of action?
-
Hi everyone,
My soon to be husband and I are going to be filing in September, and I'm trying to familiarize myself with the timeline so I have a rough idea of what to expect. However, there are so many acronyms to comb through, and I have no idea what some of them mean. Is there a guide on this forum anywhere? I appreciate your help!

Get married first, obviously.
They don't generally expect a lot of documentary evidence from the period of time before the marriage. People who aren't married don't comingle their finances, for example, so they wouldn't have stuff like insurance policies or joint bank accounts. This is where your photos and other secondary evidence will be useful. Sworn affidavits from people with a first hand knowledge of your relationship can also be useful. Affidavits are especially helpful if they are from people who have good standing in the community, and are not family members of the USC or immigrant. These people would be perceived as more credible because they have no motive to lie on behalf of the immigrant. For example, your landlord, a local business person, an elected official, a police officer, etc.
It would also help if you can take your time and plan the best wedding ceremony and reception you can afford, and hire a professional photographer. A lot of people have said that the IO spent a lot of time looking at the wedding album at their AOS interview.
You've been together for a while, so the IO is going to to expect that you know each other pretty well. If they are at all suspicious about your relationship then they might begin asking some very detailed questions. If either of you have any skeletons in your closets that the US government might uncover then now would be a good time to discuss them with each other.
Thank you so much for your reply!

Hi there,
I found this forum because last week my boyfriend of 3 years was denied renewal of his student visa. We have been living together in LA for the past year.
We have decided to get married, and I am filing for the I-130 petition through a lawyer.
Are there any suggestions for additional documentation of our relationship? I am including photos, lease agreement, pink slip (we own a car together), and phone records.
I would also appreciate any other advice people have--I am feeling VERY overwhelmed by this whole process. Thank you!
