So apparently we just got a checklist for not sending the updated version of the Ds-230. Has this happened to anyone else? We filled out all of our paperwork in September of last year.
-
Goodness gracious, is that really edible?? What is that, plastic and paper infused with artificial flavorings?
I think I'm gonna have a real hard time adjusting to the food...
Gimme me my baguette
Haha don't worry Laure&Colin...I bet you'll be able to find many little French food spots in California.

Just called NVC, no updates yet. They said they are still waiting on our AOS and IV package, but our lawyer sent it three days ago. Would I know if they have received it, or do I find out only once our case is complete? Congrats to all the CC's today!!!!

What a WONDERFUL woman!! Sadly I can't even remember her name, but she picked up without even a WAIT. I took your advice and said "I was wondering if you could invoice my AOS bill", and she could pretty much see my entire case. She mentioned "you want to get down here to Virginia where it's warm don't you?" to which I said "I just want a hug!!" and she said "very good!" and laughed
She said "sometimes, when a person tries to opt in for EP, what happens is the system gets confused...it hangs up and says 'what do I do now?!'...and that's what seems to have happened here." That made me laugh pretty good, lol. Then she said, "I will write this up and we'll get this sorted out right away. We'll get this fixed out for you and get an email to your husband ASAP so you can pay your bill." I mentioned I'd been able to fill out the DS-261 and she said "that's too funny because we haven't generated it yet...you're on the ball!" I said "Yes I am, maybe too much so?" and she laughed and said "Well, we're clearly not so it's good one of us is." Frown has officially been turned upside down...that was funny - and fun!
Excellent Trav&Shell...I'm sure this has been an anxious week and a half! Glad you finally got the answer you needed. On to the next!!

Happy Monday lovely March NVC thread-ers!! Suddenly loving the start of the work week.
So quick question--I keep reading that the AOS is invoiced separately from IV, but mine were invoiced together. Is it because I'm using a lawyer?
And thanks to everyone (especially Saylin) for your help so far!
-
You have waited so long--CONGRATULATIONS! So happy to see that you were finally approved.
-
Never wanted to shell out $500 so badly in my life....INVOICE MEEEEEEEEEE!!
-
Saylin...a little help if you please...could you update me on the spreadsheet while I update my signature and timeline? Case number, IIN and BIN all received
yay congrats!
-
Just got our case number! Hope all you March 2nd NOA2 get them today!
-
Where the heck is the case number?!! Any March 2nd people get word from NVC?
-
thats very intersting news about their case status site having issues - when did you talk to them exactly?
i wonder if that then ripples into the emails and SMS too?
thanks for the info
I called them last week because I panicked and thought they had made a mistake in our approval. I spoke to a Tier II who told me that their system was having issues. Website still says Initial Review...
-
Paisaman, just a heads up when you're doing the stats for September...my case was approved on March 2nd and to this day it has updated it on the site-- still says "initial review". I called USCIS and they told me that they are having problems with the site. It may skew the data depending on how many other people this has impacted. I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem??
-
NVC says they still have not received my case, even though USCIS sent it last week! Is this normal?
-
I have a citibank credit card, and I added my husband 2 years ago with no SSN required.. I did it online as well.. Hope it helps!
-
Okay, so I know this worrying is probably a LITTLE premature, but I was going through the spreadsheet and some people were in NVC for OVER 200 days? What the hell happened and is there anything we can learn from these poor cases?
-
Since the USCIS received my petition on August 22/2011 and I still havnt heard from them would it really help to write to my senator?
And How long would it take for him to reply to me? Is it possible for him to ignore me and never reply back??
I am so frustrated right now Im losing my mind..
Anyway, Im going to send it tomorow morning but I just wanted to know if it really does help or if its possible for him to ignore me
Thanks for whoever will reply, this site is really helpful
I don't think it would hurt to try. What you might want to do is call their office, and they will direct you to a privacy form that can be found on your senator's website. Fill it out and fax it back, and then you should be assigned a case worker. I called my two senators and they said it would be 3 weeks before I was assigned someone. Then I called the representative from my district and was assigned someone within a day.

Waiting on my case number. Thanks for the helpful info, Saylin. Can you add me to your spreadsheet?
-
So then u talked to senator yesterday ? How did u get the noa2 in the mail in 24 hours? Or did u talk to him last week? Even then i doubt it was the senator i think it was just luck that it was approved senators usually take 15 business days either way congrats my noa1 is 28 sep
Sorry my giddiness is preventing me from thinking clearly. I wrote them last Monday. I agree that there is no way to know! Good luck with your petition, it seems that they are finally getting a move on things.
-
But I did contact my senator on Monday, and although I can't be sure, I have reason to believe that this had something to do with it!!!
-
It started off with a bang, and then it seems like there has been a slow trickle of approvals. Arghh.....this wait is absolutely killing me!
And on that note, for the people that have been approved, PLEASE update your timelines. It really helps the rest of us.
Just needed to vent!
-
Just got the approval text/email. Thank God!!
Woo hoo congratulations!
-
According to my lawyer and data on this site, I130 usually takes around 9-12 months. I would contact your senator asap.
-
Just got email to say our petition was approved!!!!!!!!! Thank you Lord!!
Paisman you were right!!! Good luck to all filers still waiting. God Bless!
YAY for you and the power of stats!! What a great way to start the week!
-
It's great that they're making this kind of progress, but do you think that the number of petitions processed will go up next week? I can't help but think that with around 2,000 decisions this week, it will take them a while to complete the rest of August, assuming that this number stays around the same.
Any input?

Sorry, should have been more specific. We did not date the form, only signed it. It was dated in March. Apparently the issue was with the version of the form?
Sounds strange to me...
