  1. You ask 10 lawyers, you will get 10 different answers. Take it from those who have done the process. The fiancé visa is the fastest and it is not hard if you follow the instructions. Our process went from August 22, 11 (filed) and she was approved Feb 15th, 2012. She arrived March 22nd, 2012. It's been a great year for us.

  2. Be sure to compare all forms you fill out with the forms on-line to make sure that you filled them out correctly before you send them. A lot of people rush and make mistakes and end up getting RFE's. Don't do that. Make sure it is complete when you send it in otherwise you will sweat for four months like I did worrying that you might get an RFE. I didn't get one but I left off two fields that should have had 'N/A' like where the Alien # goes and something else simple I missed. Usually the divorce papers or not sending solid evidence of being with your fiancee in the same location are reasons to get an RFE.

We just finished the process. We did it ourselves. We started around September 1st and got approved in February 15th. She arrives this weekend.

  3. You have way too much patients.

For Me I am the Man in the Relationship, the Alpha.

My gurl is told and understands, that it is my way or the highway.

I will punish or scold her if she try the old silent treatmeant, for me I deal punishment quickly and swiftly, This is what a Pinay gurl knows and appreciates.

It's a shame you do not see the women as a person but rather as an object and you think your money will draw them. My fiancee would not tolerate you. She is beautiful inside and out and too smart for you. I treat her with great respect. You give men a bad name and I predict you will die alone. I have seen your other post about trolling, drinking and seeking eye candy. You could never be a womans dream. Only their nightmare.

  4. Mines got a bad attitude also. On Valentines days I was trying to watch TV and enjoy my icecream.

She made me come outside and hold the ladder for her while she was cleaning out the rain gutters.

Then I think she was purposely letting little pieces of leaves fall down into my icecream.

This is a serious topic and you shouldn't be sarcastic because you are poor at it and some will not understand your humor. :ot2:

  5. My fiancee is arriving next week from the Philipppines. We were approved February 15th and she took a extra month to be with her family before coming here.

From the time we filed till the interview approval for us was just under six months. Be patient. There is no short cut. The fiancee visa is faster but I would advise you take your time and fill out your forms and and compare them to the forms online because I even made two minor mistakes but I didnt get an RFE. Getting an RFE will set you back a 3 weeks or more.

Just make sure you do it right, read this board a lot to educate yourself. That helped me spend my time wisely. We are happy. Don't stress about it. Keep your eye on the goal of you being together in the long term, not the short term.

  6. Look there is a secret to selecting good women for marriage. Usually the secret is that you have to go through the kind of relationship you are in now to allow you to pick better next time. I really looked into my Filipina's character to see how much she was supportive of me during our entire dating period. I judged her by her actions and it didn't take long to find out that she was a keeper.

These signs you speak of were there but you just were not looking for them. It's not your fault if you had no experience with negative combative non supportive disruptive women who can't take care of themselves but want to cause you trouble. Although my Filipina has not arrived, I will assure you that she is not selfish and I am positive she will support our goals and our family structure because we are in this together and she will give more than I request. I will do the same for her.

I can tell you one thing. If everything you say is true, patience with this woman (in most cases) will only cause you heartache, trouble, greif. She might get marginally better over time but with someone this far off balance, she will never provide you the love and support you need and you might even loose your health, financial future and everything else because she might pull you under with the ship.

It's your call but I think you know in your heart what is best what to do after the advice of your friends, family and your readings...

  7. We were just approved 3 weeks ago and we have a 26 year difference. I chose to be with her and she chose me because we have the most in common in family values and similar lifestyles of just good family living. My finacee was so organized during the interview it was a breeze. We also presented a strong case of a relationship.

My first marriage was a disaster so I know what you mean about not knowing someone but this one is different for me too. My fiancee is conservative and from the Southern province. Age will not matter. I would just focus on who you are with. The CO will not deny you based on age in your case. Move onto your next concern because this will not be one.

  8. I just ordered a credit card the other day for myself but I had them send me another card with my future wife's name on it and they did it within no time.

Maybe you can get a credit card with a low limit and just send your fiancee the card and pay the bill for her?

I know I sent at least 10-12 transfers of money to my fiancee over 5 months and it does add up so I am glad she will be here within 3 weeks.

Also, if I had to do it over again, I would get her a bank acccount and just get all the banking numbers and transfer it directly to her account from my bank account.

With Western Union and Xoom, you are paying for convienence but with a little work, you can cut them out.

If you do transfer money with WU or Xoom, have them pay out in American dollars. My fiancee warned me about them shaving when you pay out in the native currency.

  9. Yes I understand that 99% are very friendly and graceous hosts, and love to communicate. And I dig it also.

This ain't my first rodeo to Pi...

You are approaching things the wrong way. Bring a box cutter might work in New York City but you will not be in the United States and when you find yourself in jail in the Philippines you'll wish you had listened to everybody else.

Follow everyones advice but let me add if you are stupid enough to get into a bad area and the wrong people cross your path or you harrass the wrong person, you better be smart enough to smile and back out of the situation and appologize and swallow your pride instead of pulling a box cutter because someone will hit you from behind with a board and besides you don't want any trouble over there. You are out of your element.

  10. I like to use Delta. I just booked my fiancee a ticket for late March,2012 for $ 907.00 one way to Los Angeles.

I couldn't book Korean from the US. I could have flown her cheaper by China Airlines but I prefer to have her fly American.

Philippine airlines adds taxes to the price they quote and it boost up the price at the end when you order it doesn't it ?

    Warning :

If you use Delta, the person ordering the ticket from the US must go to the airport and show their credit card and ID or the beneficiary

in the Philippines will not be allowed to board unless that flag is cleared and the credit card is presented in the US. No matter what anybody says, don't risk that as they assured me yesterday that they will definately ask for this proof in the Philippines if the flag on the computer screen is not already cleared that ID was proven at the US office.

There is no discount for K1 filers. And don't used mixed airlines because it is confusing enough without changing airports and airlines !!!

  11. It depends on many things. How well your I-129f is put together is a big factor. Many where similar to mine though. We filed the I-129f on August 28th at the Vermont Service Center. We receieved our NOA2 December 28th (lots of holidays during that period too). We got the MNL# 10 days later in January. We then used the MNL# to get her medical and then scheduled the interview on February 15th. She was approved and she recieved her Visa on February 23rd.

Some take longer but I assume that is due to people who are not natuarly born US citizens from high risk countries but I am guessing about that. I just know that all of the filers I have spoken with that were born in America got their NOA2 similar to our time frame, just 3 1/2 to 4 months.

So you see there are a lot of steps. :wow: For us, waiting to get the NOA2 was the hardest part. Everything after that went much faster. The best advice you can get is just study and read this forum for the next four months so you know what to do. We didnt use a lawyer. If you do you a lawyer, you need to understand what they do so you can make sure they do it right.

    Good luck !

  12. Don't worry about what anyone thinks. It's humiliating yes, but who hasn't made a mistake before? It's very easy to judge and mock, but if anything, you should be proud of yourself for having put yourself out there and taken the risk. Take pride in your courage because YOU haven't done anything shameful. Keep your head up up and keep telling yourself, 'this too shall pass.'

A lot of people make the mistake. I have too. I was taken for a ride once worse but when the light was shed upon them, I moved out and got distance from them and cut them off. The problem with the OP is she still cares for him. That is dysfunctional and dangerous.

Fool me once, shame on you ! Fool me twice, shame on me !

  13. Do you like to gamble ? If you do, get the MNL# book your medical and then your interview but make sure your interview is a week after your medical. Get everything else you need and then show up. I doubt you will succeed in 3 weeks but maybe 4.

For our piece of mind, we took our time. We were approved in 6 weeks and we could have knocked a week off if we tried. Now we are waiting on the Visa and that takes a minimum of 5 business days. Some people go through all kinds of delays even getting approved. I think one reason our process went so smooth is because there were no children involved and all our paper work was in order and my fiancee knew me very well. We practiced and she had an answer for evrything :dance::dance:

  14. I am in the wrong thread... but if the Philippines works the same way maybe you can learn. Once our K-1 went to the NVC, the NVC issues a MNL#, your number would start with something different. You call up the NVC and get the number they issue your package before your information is forwarded to the US Embassy in Austrailia. With that number they issue you, you can then you schedule your medical and make your appointment with that number.

We never waited for any packet 3 or 4. Sometimes they never come. It's a waste of time to wait. You don't need it. To give you an example, our NOA2 was approved on Dec 28th and we had her medical and interview done by February 15th and she will be here by March. I hope this helps you. Search the forums for MNL# for more information to give you an example of what people are doing in the Philippines.

  15. I just bought tickets for my fiancee and her daughter to fly from MNL to CVG. I didn't have any problems, but I did have to take a copy of the tickets and my credit card and ID to the airport here, CVG, and have them verify my card and ID and change the flages on their tickets so that they won't be asked to present the credit card used to buy the tickets when checking in. They also gave me a small piece of paper that they told me was proof that the credit card was seen here and I need to scan that paper and email it to my fiancee so that she can show it if there are any questions.

    --Jim

I just got off the phone with Delta. They said about the same as you are saying. I would have to go to the airport and show my i.d. after I purchased it. She didn't say anything about a small piece of paper but I will ask for that to scan and send to my fiancee. The Delta agent said we could do this with Electronic (emailed tickets) but this is not allowed on Paper Tickets. You have all been warned. You must receive the ticket via email or you can't do this.

  16. Thanks Jim. I typed in CVG into the airlines to find out that you meant Cincinatti. Thanks for your reply.

I am now getting replies back that Delta should not be a problem supposedly but with Korean Air Lines it is not allowed. Any other comments would be appreciated. Flying her and meeting her in Los Angeles will cost a good bit of money and I want to get this right.
