  1. Well good news I guess NVC received our case on 3/3/14 no case number assigned as of yet. This process is seriously daunting and confusing so please bear with me if my questions seem a little stupid but I have read through the 1st & 2nd posts of this string and I'm a bit lost.

    1) Once I get my assigned case number is that when I provide mine and my husbands email addresses over the phone?

    2) Do I have to wait for the paperwork to be mailed to me to initiate the process of making my fee payments?

    3) I have read several posts about side loading the cases before they go to the designated embassy some say its bad some say it's good. I'm just wondering have things changed here recently that I should reconsider sending phone records and such to the NVC.

    Thanks in advance!

Oh and can someone tell me how to do the signature thing so that I can show my time line goofy.gif

The last processing action taken on your case

    Receipt Number: MSC139111XXXX

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

On February 14, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

  4. Did something change with the spreadsheets that you can't just view them anymore? I use to be able to click on the link and view the stats. Now when I click the link it asks me to enter in information.....which I already did a LONG time ago. If possible I would just like to see the May spreadsheet and possibly the month before and after. Any help would be greatly appreciated luv.gif

  5. NOA 1 5/16/13

    Transfer notice: 12/26/13

    Two things:

    1. I filed abroad(Japan) but changed my address to a U.S. address in October, though my spouse is still abroad. I don't know if that is helpful info. for everyone wondering about whether your residence makes a difference with transfers.

    2. How do you know what center your file was transfered to? It didn't appear to say in the e-mail...will that come in the mail.

The hard copy you receive in the mail will tell you where your application has been transferred to

  6. Fantastic letter and I am once again recruiting all friends and family tonight for yet ANOTHER blast tomorrow. I say we keep applying pressure until we see some movement. Just because it's USCIS does not mean they can't be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof! They are making bank off the filing of these forms just sitting there and knowing the number new filings every month how is their current shifting of case files any kind of resolution?? It's like they are pulling applications out of a hat at random to process from different months which does nothing but fuel frustration from the masses. If I worked my job this way I would be fired in a hot minute no questions asked!!

  7. Well the original marriage certificate you have to send to NVC. Or get a certified copy from registry. One or the other no photocopies will be acceped. Every document at NVC has to be original or certified copy of original. You will get back at interview.

As mentioned before long as you are just submitting more of the same. Adding another trip that happened between sumission of I-130 and NVC. Adding more chats and stuff.

**For regional forums go to top of page click on portal. You should already be in the Nigerian one and you can add other countried. Really read the Interview reviews a must for anyone interview. Some have helpful tips.

Thank you dwheels!! I will check it out and I am sure I will have more questions so please let me apologize in advance if I seem dense at times I promise I'm really not. We had our original I-129 K1 visa denied the first go round so this is gut wrenching and we just want to get it right. dancin5hr.gif

  8. Has nothing to do with getting a Case Complete. It's all about getting more evidence into your casefile. This evidence submitting is called side-loading.

The whole point is to get evidence into the hands of CO BEFORE the interview. As many have stated some go to interview with truck load of evidence because well you read and read here you listen to lawyers they all say "take your evidence to embassy" well some never get a chance. I have a list of people ai know denied and they had the evidence right in their possession to refute what the CO was denying.

I have only known of one case where evidence was submitted at NVC and it was part of their NOIR that they submitted evidence that was considered suspect and the CO felt they were trying to sneak it by USCIS.

NVC is only a document gathering office no more. I have even talked with 2 supervisors at NVC who advised me if I am sending extra evidence that also resend my original evidence because they don't always get it all. How I know they said they had 30 pages of my oetition. I submitted 210 pages. So with my extra I submitted the original. Doesn't hurt to be thorough and safe.

Ok in this regard should I be sending my only original marriage certificate? I sent a copy with the I-130 along with other supporting documentation. I want to send in everything (including the kitchen sink) to the NVC but I am really uneasy about sending in my original marriage certificate since I only have the one copy that we received from the wedding registry in Lagos.

Nigeria is hard as hell in their interviews so I feel by sending in any additional docs to NVC kills 2 birds with one stone....the case looks solid by the time Lagos receives it and it's a hell of a lot cheap to send documentation within the states than it is to send it to Lagos.

Also can someone point me in the direction of where I can find the regional forums? I would like to read up luv.gif

    Thanks!!

The letter edited by BOS_LHR is still on its original URL (this one has all the email and fax numbers):
    Pick anyone.

Both look great! Are we then sending tomorrow 12/11?

  11. After 5 years of dating my husband (fiance at the time) and I originally filed a K1 and he was denied the visa in Lagos because they interviewer did not like his answers. The interviewer didn't even look at the supporting documentation that my husband had brought with him. I was so furious that I flew back to Lagos just to go to the embassy and let them know how I felt. When I finally got the chance to speak to someone the gentleman at the embassy told me he that he apologized it was clear we were not fraudulent but that K1 visas are regularly denied based on fake relationships and that it's better to be married and file as a spouse. Needless to say while I was there we went to the registry and got married so that I could come back to the states and start from scratch filing the I-130. Thinking about it, it does make sense as the K1 process seems to move faster and now I know why....they have a higher denial rate. Good luck my friend :)
