How long do you think my wife will get interview, she applied September 30th 2020. Do you have any idea?

It varies for everyone - no straight answer can be given. But from some of the timelines seen currently, best guess would be 12 to 14 months from submission. So for your wife, could be any time from September to November. But, then could also be earlier or later.....!

The joys of dealing with USCIS - anytime you try to make a prediction, your proved wrong 🤪

My questions were easy and just so happens were the same questions I was studying on the drive to the cites.

Did you also get the 1130am ceremony?

Nope, mine is scheduled for 1.45pm. I wonder how many sessions they do in a day?  The USCIS officer did say at the interview that by this point, the citizenship ceremonies were were pretty much full for June. He wasn't sure if I would slip in, or would have to wait for one in July.

  3. Interviewed Yesterday (May 26th). Passed, Oath Scheduled for June 30th :)

    Questions:

    1) What we call the first ten amendments to the constitution

    2) What is the freedom of religion

    3) Who is the Commander in Chief of the Military

    4) What is the capitol of your state

    5) What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for

    6) What major event happened on September 11th, 2001 in the United States

  4. Just checked by status, and found that I had a biometrics reuse letter in my documents folder dated Feb 12.  I applied for my N400 in April 2020, and last did biometrics back in 2014 (for removal of Green Card Conditions). Current target date for completion shows as May 2021.

I smiled when I also noticed that they stated in the letter that there wouldn't be a refund of the biometric fee!

  5. Your K1 Visa expired the moment you entered the US - as long as you marry within 90 days of entering your fine.

However don't exit the US before receiving either AP or a Greencard,as you won't be able to reenter. If your traveling internally in the US, you just need photo ID (drivers license or passport) and have nothing to worry about.

You can (it happened to me) get an emergency AP letter from via an infopass appointment, but those are for emergencies only, not for holidays

  6. Edit: misread the post, my view below was for the K1 interview. However I would still think it applies to the AOS interview. Again Good luck

My perspective is wear what feels comfortable in. You want to go into the interview relaxed as you can be, so why add extra stress.

For my interview, I wore smart casual (khakis and shirt). I didn't feel I needed to wear a suit & tie.

    Good luck with your interview

  7. You don't have any of your timeline/profile filled out, so it's difficult to give direct advice for your situation.

However I was in the same position as yourself, and applied for a new passport. I took my new passport and my cancelled one to the interview (Packet 4 docs were all filled out with the new passport details - all other docs (inc police cert) had my old passport number). I was only asked to show my new passport during my interview (London) and had no problems - and if I were to do it again, I would still take both. It pays to cover to all situations. As I understand it - you won't be let into the US without >6 months on your passport anyway, so your going to need a new one anyway.

    Good luck

    Matthew
